Lua support coming to LOTRO's UI!
Jul 14, 2010 - 3:36 PM - by Dolby
Meghan Rodberg, Senior Manager of Community for Turbine talks to "Set on Stun" about Free to Play coming to Lord of The Rings Online. In this interview it is revealed that with the launch of their free to play features turbine is adding Lua support to allow people to customize their UI much like World of Warcraft.

LoTROInterface will be working on upgrading this site in the near future to accomodate lua AddOns by adding many of the features we use on our WoWInterface site.

Thanks to Sparr for pointing out this is now public knowledge. It was hard for us not to say anything.

WESTWOOD, MA –December 1, 2009 - Turbine, Inc. today launched The Lord of the Rings Online™: Siege of Mirkwood™, the digital expansion to the award-winning massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Siege of Mirkwood expands the online world of Middle-earth where players join forces to press further eastward into the dark, foreboding and treacherous forest of Mirkwood and take part in the epic conclusion to Volume II of The Lord of the Rings Online™. Siege of Mirkwood™ is now available as a digital download with an increased level cap, the new region of Mirkwood including the legendary evil fortress of Dol Guldur, major enhancements to combat and Legendary Items and the introduction of Skirmishes, randomized, repeatable instances where players will train customizable soldiers and take them into battle as part of the War of the Ring.

"Today we unveil LOTRO’s second major expansion and let players enter the legendary forest of Mirkwood and experience the climax and conclusion to Volume II of our epic story," said Jeffrey Steefel, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings Online™. NEW FEATURES:

(L) Developer Diary: New Main Menu
Nov 17, 2009 - 10:40 AM - by Cairenn
As LOTRO grows and new UI features are developed, like the new Skirmish Join and Skirmish panels, we have found that we can't just keep adding buttons to the toolbar at the bottom of your screen (or the border of your Radar) to launch the new panels. With this in mind, we set out to create a way for you to launch the new (and existing) features, which will support current needs and allow for future expansion.

Introducing (drum roll please), the new Main Menu!
