Hi!

The icons for the bags for example are invisible. Is it possible to change this to see the icons anytime?

If its changeable, can i change this by myself?
Or is it something more complicated?

Basalt: Yeah I know it's a bit bright but I can't really make it darker if I want to keep it that way :/ Guess it's a matter of getting used to it as personally it wont distract me. Try the Mirkwood skin as you said if it would better suit you. Plans are adding a third theme sometime during the fall - Shadows of Angmar (obviously that will be dark red/brown skin).

No worries, just a personality trait, my eyes tend to fixate on bright whitish bluish light sources like a bug flies for a zapper.

The Mirkwood one works just fine for me. Looking forward to the Angmar skinning. Cheers

Known issues: "In some rare cases the 3D portrait might start to "grow" or "shrink." There is no solution for this bug other than turning the 3D portraits off from the Adv Graphics options." This is a client bug and has to be fixed by Turbine.

I seem to have a bug with 3D portraits. My portrait keeps getting smaller and smaller over time. It seems to happen when I zone.

Cool. I haven't seen this much activity in a long while here ^^ really liking all the feedback.

mglinka99: Seems you have set the skin properly. All you have to do is to move some of the UI elements (like the vital panels) at their designated locations. Check "My UI is still a mess!" troubleshooting above to seehow to fix it.

edit: layouts are at the moment unavailable. they will return in the next update.

Hi!

Thanks for your great Lotro Skin.
I installed the old version, because i'm a european player.

I've some problems with resolution 1920w.
Please look to my screenshot.

http://img225.imageshack.us/f/screenshot00000p.jpg/

Universal skin works fine.
I've executed setup.cmd to change the resolution, after that i change the skin in the lotro options. than logoff...login. but it doesn't work correctly in my case.

Any ideas?

regards

How exactly did you do that, could you post it up? I'd love to make that change, but haven't really messed with editing skin files yet.
It was quite a bit of editing, I had to edit several lines in the skindefinition.xml and also had to alter the .tga art files (I used photoshop for that). Essentially I reversed the player and opponent art files so that they were around the opposite way and then I edited the x:y positions for the various vitals components so that they would fit into the newly reversed images. Took a little while and was a bit of fiddling but now it looks exactly how I like it

Love the ui, was amazed how much I was able to organize within the background space.

Only thing i have against it is that bright blue white gate into Moria (My eyes are drawn to it at all the wrong times), so I am downloading the Mirkwood art to try in place of. Installation with your comand prompt batch file was quite simple. Great work.

I agree , its a beautiful skin indeed, my skin of choice !

Like you though, after 14 years of MMOing with my character on the left , I simply could not get used to the character being on the right. I tried and tried, but no matter how long I tried I just couldnt adapt to it.

So I edited the files myself and swapped the opponent panels over with the player panels , so that my character is now on the left and targets on the right.

Now its the perfect UI for me

Beautiful skin.

Is there a way to switch the picture location for my character and my target? I am used to my picture being on the left and my character's picture being on the right. (and at my age change is always bad )

Sorry about the tracker icons. I know it might be a bit confusing as my setup isn't the most simple one. I'll try to update the skin in a few days, once I on my pc. I also try to make a US free account for to be able to update/test the skin as the European client update delayed quite a bit :/

RKS: Somethign I am often ask (I should write something about in the readme.txt hehe). The reason the vitals are goofed is because of the lotro skinning historical reasons. At the time I started this project it wasn't possible to skin the UI otherwise. Now it would be doable, but the current users for this UI have used to the layout i've been using for the skins for years now - that is the reason I haven't switched them to normal player-vitals-on-left layout. I can assure you that it will only take a few days to learn to look at the right locations for your vitals. Making an option to include both variations would require for me to make the setup far more complicated and that would be at users expense again. So for the time beign the layout will stay as it is for now.

It might change in the future though. The new plugins might change it all. When for example Palantir HUD is advanced enough I will be start using it personally. That would mean I would implement that in my skin and therefore the current vital displays would become obsolete. LUA isn't quite there the HUD's would be able to replace the vital displays yet so it will take time until this switch-over will happen.

The snippets are different in that the TGA file names contain "Button" for the fixed code. Unfortunately, the fixed code doesn't resolve the problem.
Scratch that. I did not realize that the SkinDef file that needed to be changed was the one under Setup (I use 1680x1050 and the SoM skin). I haven't had to alter anything in DaimonUI for a long time, so I am not used to this new folder structure... well, new to me at least. Changing the code in the SkinDef file in Setup folder did fix the problem.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems Codemasters have delayed european launch quite a bit (at least for a week, maybe even to the end of the month) soooo :c

..maybe I should just create a free acco for Turbine while waiting.

Daimon,

Also the quest tracker is still showing the four rings image that Tinne was experiencing. I am using the latest version 4.0.1 of the UI. The code snippet you posted in response to Tinne appears to be the same code as I could not tell the difference between the two.

Other than that - the UI is best one out there (IMO). Keep up the hard work!
