Hi,

There are two things you could try. If you have 0 abc files in the root Music directory (not including sub directories), copy at least one there. It's a bug, but I've been holding off release an update for some other stuff.

Another thing that can cause this is nasty data inside one of the files. So you could move all abc files but a few away from the Music directory and run the .hta file again and reload the plugin. This way you could troubleshoot which file causes the error.

I can also try to troubleshoot it if you are willing to send your SongbookData.plugindata file to chiran[_at_]theroadgoeson.org. It's located at:
c:\Users\<windowsuser>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<lotrouser>\AllServers\

Oh and one more thing. If the plugin starts without a library file there shouldn't be an error message. It just starts up saying the library is empty. So, what you were saying might hint that there is a library file, but that it has corrupt data.

I have downloaded the latest file, Songbook 0.53, but when I run the .hta file it picks a user name that is not my login name and builds a folder using that name. I have tried to edit the name it picks, but it won't let me do that. Is there a way to tell the .hta file what my real login name is. Of course Songbook won't work in game, I get the unable to parse file error message. I really want to try this plugin, so any help you can give me would be great. Thanks.
It should look for all the user names even if you have more than one listed. So in that listbox there's only one name if you click it? And it's not the one you are using? In that case I'm not sure what is going on as it gets the name from TurbineLauncher settings. Actually, if it cannot find those settings it will give you an input box to fill out your user name. So, until the real issue is identified, a temporary solution would be to find your TurbineLauncher settings file, rename it at least temporarily, and then run the .hta file.

The settings file should be located at (at least in Vista and W7):
c:\Users\<windowsuser>\AppData\Local\Turbine\The Lord of the Rings Online\Launcher\LauncherUserSettings.xml

It's a hidden folder so you might have to first unhide those in Explorer. But, typing the correct location might go there directly anyway.

Edit: I could also make a version where it gives the input box anyway, but it's disregarded if empty.

Re: Re: hi need some help.

Oh you probably need 7zip or another program that understands 7zip format to unpack the Turbine plugins? You can get 7zip here. However, I'm planning to do a new version where you don't need to download these. (I'm including the necessary bit with my plugin.)

-Chiran

yeah i have 7zip but nothing else happening other than that site coming up with bunch of thingys. what should happend?

nevermind. i found the problem. it would download with firefox so i had to use internet explorer. but anyway thank you for time and help

Disregard the email I sent you. I got it working. I went thru all my songs. It worked when I removed one of my .abc files. It didn't like Last Mohican.abc. Thanks for all the help.
Yes, somehow a line break got through to the song name in that specific song eventhough names are read from one line. But I'm glad the culprit was found!

Yes, but no need to add just one at a time, just not all at once so it would be possible to learn at what point it starts to go wrong. Or if you want you could send the SongbookData.plugin (the one that has all the songs listed) file to me and I can try to find out what might be wrong with it (to chiran[_at_]theroadgoeson.org).

Then you could try to move all but one out, and then move then gradually back in and see when it stops working again. A bit bothersome, I know :-/. But somehow the end result is corrupt data which the plugin can't read. And it's either because of certain number of files per folder (was suspecting 0) or some funky song filenames or weird data inside one of the files.

Hm yes, I haven't been able to reproduce this yet. I faked another account and it created both directories ok and the resulting SongbookData.plugin files are working and identical. So it's probably not the core reason. I did find one bug again, which I thought I had squashed. Do you happen to have 0 songs in Music root directory? If so, does it start working if you put at least 1 song there?

Yes I am. I've used this plugin since version .1 and it worked fine with the vbs script. I think I may know what I did. I have two accounts and I wanted to create a songbook for both accounts. So I used the new .hta builder for both login names. I'm not sure if this matters though cause it created a folder for both usernames but I've been unable to use the plugin ever since I did this. I even deleted the songbook plugin and plugins data directories and reinstalled the newest version of songbook but it didn't correct the problem. Let me know if there's any more info I can provide to help you replicate this. Thank you.
