Thank you for downloading Simply Orain

Author: Orain
In Game: Orain, Crazed Champions of the North
Server: Riddermark

------------------------------------------------------

I have tried to simplify my skin as much as possible.
The idea was to create something that was minimal
and aesthetically pleasing. Thanks to all the skin
authors on lotro interface as well as those
specifically referenced in the xml.

Thanks to Greatful of Riddermark for beta testing.

------------------------------------------------------

Please Note: When you first load the UI it may look
off so you just need to log out to the character
selection screen, then log back in.

In short, if it looks off RE-LOG YOUR CHARACTER.

Extract all of the files into either of the following:
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\

Windows Vista & Windows 7
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\

------------------------------------------------------

General Installation instructions for installing skins
can be found here:

http://www.lotrointerface.com/forums/faq.php?faq=lotro_interface#faq_installation

------------------------------------------------------

Known issues:
- Large amounts of buffs may slightly cover vitals
- The 3D portrait can occasionally shrink. If this happens you can re-log to fix it.

------------------------------------------------------

So after corresponding with an author who has much more experience then myself, I have come to conclusion that switching back and forth from windowed mode to full screen will break your layout. Sorry guys.

alt+enter is just a shortcut key for switching on/off windowed mode.

I personally never use alt+enter so I am not even sure what it does. I alt+tab a lot and that does nothing to my layout, I will try it tonight and see what it does. I heard from Greatful, my original beta tester, that when you lock your buttons to the bars they are on it skews the layout for some reason. I never lock my buttons in the bars so I have never experienced that either. Either way thank you very much for the feedback and I will look into how to fix it if I can re-create the scenario.

yeah actually the problem in my screenshot is it initially loads fine in the right place in the bottom of my screen but after an alt+enter it shifts and can't be moved using the basic ui unlock (ctrl+\) nor by reloading the ui layout using the command (/ui layout load) and if i was to switch back to the default the main bar would be off in the same location as the incorrectly placed main bar

my other quick bars or anything else don't move at all, but the whole graphic including the auto-attack button, the menu buttons (deeds/quests/etc.), and the gray graphic you used as a background all shifts up and can't be moved

of course all this is fixed on a relog but if i happen to forget and alt+enter out in a not so friendly area its a little more delicate of a situation.

didn't know if this could be duplicated by someone else using alt+enter to go into window mode and then alt+enter again to go back to fullscreen.

Thanks for your feedback and downloading my skin. Lets see if I can help your scenario:
Quote:
when I tab out or alt-enter out it moves the whole quick-key bar out of place once i go back to game
The first thing I would say, when you initially load up is the bar where you want it to be? If you want to move it you can follow the instructions further down in the posts on this skin on how to move it based on your resolution.

The other recommendation is something I do every time I load since I have an I have 2 main machines I play the game and they have totally different specs. Some of the layout carries over from one to the other so some settings must be associated to a particular account. Regardless, what I end up having to do most of the time since I alternate play on both is load my layout in game and do the re-log.

I will assume you do not do this now so I will explain how it is done, I hope you don't mind if it is redundant information.

- move your windows bars around to where ever you like ctrl+/ to enable it is the default key combo
- when finished, ctrl+/ lock them back in place
- save your layout with the following command where "<name>" is some name you make up, I recommend something short and easy to remember like your characters name so if your chars name was "bo" it would be /ui layout save bo
Code:
/ui layout save <name>
- Whenever you load the game fresh you can then use the following command to reload your particular window positions
Code:
/ui layout load <name>
If it loads odd just do the logout to char screen and come back in then load the layout again.

Everything should be fine after that as long as you are not switching computers like me in which case you would have to load your layout more often.

first off let me say really love this skin and its perfect.

do have one question though:
when I tab out or alt-enter out it moves the whole quick-key bar out of place once i go back to game.... any way to fix that? either keep it from doing it or realign it once back in game. It won't go back if I unload load the ui and reload it.

example:

i run at 1680x1050 and have tried setting window-mode to the same. it still does it.

This should be fixed in 1.03. Thanks for the feedback.

I always run with target forwarding checked on, and in the screenshot I have the mob targeted. The Freep is the mob's target and those are the vitals I have circled. I've put this skin on multiple toons, and they are all the same. It's definitely been reloaded, and this is still how it looks. If you have trouble recreating, let me know and I'll do what I can to help.

Thanks for your reply and help!

Thanks for the feedback Cadennza!

I have not seen that until now. If it did not get fixed with a reload of the character, I will see if I can recreate this scenario on my end, change the skin mapping to fix it and post a new version.

Edit: In thinking about it. I would try replacing the entire skin with the new one and just make a backup of your specific changes in another file. Once you have loaded the skin again and done the logout/login to solidify it, see if that fixes the targets target. If it does than I would implement your specific changes to the toolbar locations/etc on the 1.02 SkinDefinition.xml

Target forwarding...

Howdy! First, I LOVE this skin! Thank you so much for your work!

I've read the comments about target forwarding, and you mentioned that it should be fixed in 1.02. I've downloaded the new version and replaced the original. I have target forwarding enabled, and I've attached a screenshot of what the vitals are doing. These are the vitals of my target's target. Have I done something wrong? I know that I replaced the files because I also adjusted the positioning since my resolution is a bit different.

Thank you again for your work!

Ahh, thanks for your screenshot!

I assume you must have a quest addon or something since there should be no modifications made to the Questlog in my interface.

Thanks for the feedback matziq.

I tried to recreate what you described but I did not have the same issue... though my res is 1920 x 1080. Here is a screenshot of what I see:

Great skin! I found a small bug but it may just be my resolution (1920x1200)
In the quest log it cuts off the graphic showing the icon for solo, small fellowship and fellowship. All you see is the left side of the icon.

Thanks!
