As a general statement, the sorting of skills IS broken and was the main motivation to start work on TW II. It is being worked on, and I appreciate more reports of specific wrong behaviour since it allows me to test the feature better.
A fix for this will be released as soon as I can make it happen.

Re: Some bugs, v1.0.5beta

Quote:
1- The "Travel Options" window does not remember its position. (Also, like the toggle button, there is no way to lock its position to prevent inadvertent moves.)
Added as feature request, hope to add this after the sorting bugs get fixed.
https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindo...#card-52127261

Quote:
2- Under Travel Options->Select, if I un-check either "Rivendell (Racial)" or "Rivendell (Rep)" the skill display window removes both.
Known bug, caused by same reason why sorting does not work, hope to fix these two together. Please keep reporting though, more details are super helpful. https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindowII/issues/17

Quote:
3- The "Return to Camp" skill always sorts to the end of the list even though I have it set to the top of the list in Travel Options->Sort. If I close the Travel Options window and then reopen it, some random travel skill appears at the top of the sort list and "Return to Camp" is back where it was before I moved it (near the bottom).
Will be fixed as part of sorting bugs, but this specific case is helpful for testing. Thanks! https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindowII/issues/15

Quote:
4- If I attempt to sort "Ost Guruth (Rep)" to a higher position on the list, it moves to the new position on the list but the icon position does not change in the skill display window. If I then close and reopen the "Travel Options" window, "Ost Guruth (Rep)" appears in the lower location from which I had previously moved it rather than where I placed it.
Another useful case to know about for testing :-) https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindowII/issues/15

I went back into the game after a long time and found out that there is a new version of the plugin, I only have a minor problem. in the old version of the Travel Window plugin I had the visibility of the icons of not yet purchased milestones turned on, what I can't turn on in your version, can you advise me how to turn it on? see picture
Milestone skills that were not bought yet are not shown now because they are considered not learned. Bought but not assigned milestone skills are shown if enabled in the options (here it is Return Home 2):

I think this could become part of either making it so enabling in the enable menu shows even unlearned skills or adding a "collections" like feature showing you which skills the character is missing.

Quote:
in the settings there is a travel ability to Bree (rep) and Bree (racial) and when I turn off one of them, both of which were not in the old version will disappear. then when I move one of them to another position I move to that new position both.
This is a change that is caused by SSG renaming those skills so they have identical names. An improvement is not straightforward but I am working on it. Thanks for the report though! https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindowII/issues/17

Quote:
further lacks Shire (racial) travel ability
I think you were expecting Shire (Racial) but it is called Michel Delving (Racial) currently. I will rename it back in the next version. https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindowII/issues/23

Quote:
he does not remember the order of the icons as I set them
Sorting is broken and has been for some time. It will be the next major bug I want to fix and is the main motivation for restarting development of the plugin. https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindowII/issues/15

It also seems like for the Icon Grid, the sort button doesn't work as well.
Not sure what sort button you are referring to.

Forochel seems to be missing as well (I made sure it was checked)
Are you playing Warden or Hunter? Other classes do not have a travel skill to Forochel AFAIK. Also just to be sure, are we talking about "Sûri-Kylä"?

but whenever I try to sort one travel skill, a random one will move (Aka Whenever I move misty mountains, it moves Snowbourn instead).

yesterday I tried to arrange the travel skills that I managed to do on 2 characters, so that I arranged them and then I put a relog and after the relog, the abilities were arranged as I set them. the mentioned 2 characters were racial human but when I definitely tried it on the third character racial dwarf it didn't work in the same way as the human characters.

As for the unoccupied and unlearned milestones, I had them turned on in the old plugin, so that I could better know what the milestone icons are and what the other travel abilities are.
as a sample as I had it set in the old plugin I am attaching a picture.
in the picture in the first line they are unstoppable and unlearned milestone and in the second line there are the other travel abilities

Note: I'm using the icons display setting

I understand the usefulness of using the unlearned skills like that now, but this is an unintended side effect of the plugin's behaviour. Unlearned skills are just not shown in general, and I had more users who wanted to not see those rather than users who wanted to see them. I will think about providing an even better way of sorting skills like you are trying to, for example making it a line per category (generic/milestone/reputation/hunter or warden for example).

As for the sorting, thanks again a lot, having another case described helps me test immensely. Sorting will remain broken however until I can make some very fundamental changes to the plugin.

Hi Hyoss,

I switched back to 1.03, cause the Premium I use verry often.
In the short time I used 1.05 all used ports worked well.
THX for your zeal.

With the old version from Thaliruth I had no problems. Or I did not regocnized them.
Premiumheim sollte wieder funktionieren in v1.0.6beta.

it would be enough if you added the ability to turn off or display these capabilities and users would decide for themselves whether I want it to be displayed

It sounds easy when you write it like that. While it would work with the way you are used to using the plugin, it would make the user experience worse for many other people. Making it half/half for some skills is not intuitive, while the plugin should behave in a predictable way.

So why is there an issue? The "enabled/disabled" feature shows all possible skills in the options window, but was ignoring the setting for unlearned skills other than milestones until recently. So for most skills, having them "enabled" but not learned was and is NOT showing them in the list/icon grid/pulldown. If I change that I would change it for all skills (consistency), and suddenly Travel Window is showing a lot of unusable skills for everyone, all greyed out. Now you could argue people can click off those unlearned skills, but:
a) it sucks to turn off 30+ skills on a new character
b) when you learn a new skill but it is disabled, it will not show up in Travel Window at first, and users forget they had to turn off all skills to not have them show up greyed out, so they will be sad/confused their newly learned skills are not showing up in TW

These all have fixes, but why spend time and build around a workaround/hack rather than introduce a proper solution?

So overall, the experience of using Travel Window becomes worse by forcing everyone to use the plugin in the way you suggest. What it needs is other, dedicated, better ways of sorting and presenting skills so the icon grid list becomes readable.

Fehlende Reisepunkte

erst mal prosit neujahr!

danke

ok but can you explain to me (I'm not very experienced in modifying-creating plugins, I know they can be modified based on the advice) how it was in the old version that they were displayed unobtrusively and unadulterated milestone?
it's just a matter of clarification so I can understand.
so then I would ask for something that would graphically separate the milestone from other travel capabilities especially in the icons display mode

an additional question:
an additional question: why did you add turbine examples plugins to the last update, all you had to do was enter the Turbine startup libraries so that the Travel Window II plugin could work

- in the plugin until now, not bought milestones were shown because Dhor decided that is okor did not know how to hide them; I could enable it back but it is my choice to not show untrained skills for consistency
- I think I can relatively quickly add the option for users to add blank slots between skills
- I did not add the examples, in fact neither libraries or examples are included in TravelWindow II. What I did is I made it so Plugin Compendium knows that Turbine libraries are needed by Travel Window II and install them if they are not there - it is Plugin Compendium that installs the examples together with the libraries unfortunately. This was obviously done so first time users who do not know about Turbine libraries can get the plugin working quickly out of the box

I am not sure if it is the language barrier or something else, but I have to say you r comments do not feel nice to me. When you say "you just had to" or "simply do this", while you admittedly have no idea what is simple and what is not when it comes to software development, feels paternizing or passive aggressive. I have chosen to spend my free time making a plugin for others to use. I make deliberate decisions how to change it, and it is discouraging being treated as if I do not know what I am doing or being spoken down to.

I apologize if it sounds like that, I know very poor English, so I prefer to use a translator (I'm Slovak) and sometimes I may use the wrong words, so then the translator will translate it so that it sounds completely different than I thought.
