I haven't notice my button disappearing for about a week. That doesn't mean it hasn't happened! I might just not have noticed. I haven't played much the last 8-10 days. I will perform the test you request in your first paragraph then report back here afterward next time I notice my button has vanished.
Thank you.

This is a crucial bit of info because I think what differentiates your case from others is the full transparency of the button. And it gives me another thing to look at, namely not the button getting turned off, but losing the ability to increase opacity on mouseover. Others might not notice because for them it would be just a switch from heavy transparency to little transparency.

I keep my button in a fully transparent state when I'm not mousing over it so I've never seen it visible on screen and then =POOF= while I'm staring at it. I only notice that it's gone when I go to mouse over it and it doesn't appear. I am not sure what triggers this issue – probably zoning, but I can't be 100% sure. It is possible the trigger is zoning while "in combat" but again, I only notice the issue when I mouse over the button in order to click it to bring up the main TravelWindowII window, and that sometimes doesn't happen for quite a while after I zone.

I will run some tests, zoning while both in-combat and not in-combat, to see if I can trigger the button-poofing effect; and then report back here.

I do wonder, though, if the issue is on my end since no one else has reported it. I would think that other users would notice it and report it to you as well.

I get an:

"Unable to install Travel Window II. Please try again later. (it is most likely being updated on lotrointerface)"

message popup when I try to install this plugin now. It worked fine up till today.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks.
It means exactly what it says. I uploaded a new version and it is waiting for approval by the moderators of lotrointerface.com. Trying again later once they unlock the update is what you have to do.

I as the author see the following message for now:
Quote:
This file is currently awaiting approval from a file admin. You will only be able to download older versions of this file until it's approved.
In the meantime you can always download from GitHub and manually install, the newest version is always available a few hours earlier there because it does not wait for mod approval:
https://github.com/wduda/TravelWindo...ag/v1.0.17beta

Release has been unlocked at 13:04 CEST.

What I discovered, is that all my addon buttons will disappear if I have hidden my UI (for a screenshot) and then, instead of using the proper keybind again, hit ESC for an easy way out. Using the keybind followed by ESC a second time brings back the addon buttons.

Not sure if this applies to you, but just wanted to let you know about it.
I will classify that a bug for TWII and fix it so it comes back regardless whether you use the specific keybind or Esc. Not the other bug though.

I'm mostly just curious, would love to know if it's intended (and if so for what) or that it's a weird little bug that slipped in.

On my Hunter, I have a lot of skills listed. Just now I noticed that my Return to Bree and Guide to Hultvís both suddenly have a green border - all the other skills have the standard white. On the screenshot below it's not as clear as I see it in-game, it's rather noticeable.

Any idea why these 2 are differently coloured all of a sudden?

This is because the developers have added green borders to some icons; compare Forlaw to other Return to Skills in the screenshot. More noticeable on Hunter that has Guide skills without border mostly but return to skills get the border. Open up your skills panel and check the travel skills.

I can bring it back for a single use by hitting my keybind to toggle the UI off and then hitting it again to toggle the UI back on: I can then mouse over where I know I have the button hidden, it appears, I can click it, but if I go back to it immediately afterward it's gone again.

As I wrote earlier it doesn't happen often. Often enough for me to think it's worth reporting, though. Other than possibly being related to when I zone in or out of an instance or other portal, I can't track down a cause: Sometimes when I mouse over the spot where I know I have the button it just doesn't appear and I need to use the quick temporary fix of toggling the UI visibility off and on or the more time-consuming but more permanent fix of unloading and reloading plugins.

Thanks for the this great mod!

i know this does not fix your issue, but you can unload and load just travel window by using
Code:
/plugins unload TravelWindowII
/plugins load TravelWindowII
You can also put in on shortcuts, this will crate a shortcuts (and replace what was there so make sure you dont have any skill there when executing) in the 1 slot, than you can drag it elswhere
Code:
/shortcut 1 /plugins load TravelWindowII
Might make it easier for you until permanent fix is found.
Great tips. Thanks!

The toggle button continues to disappear at semi-random times in 1.0.16beta.

I can bring it back for a single use by hitting my keybind to toggle the UI off and then hitting it again to toggle the UI back on: I can then mouse over where I know I have the button hidden, it appears, I can click it, but if I go back to it immediately afterward it's gone again.

I can also use the Plugin Manager panel to unload all plugins and then load TravelWindowII back in and that restores it to full function until the button semi-randomly disappears again at some point.

That seems to be the case for all addon buttons, not just Travel Window II. It's very good to know! I just don't think it's related to the bug I described.

The little Travel Window II toggle button vanishes sometimes in ways that are semi-random and which I can't reproduce consistently. For instance, if I just use a stable master's swift travel or go through a zone loading screen into or out of an instance, sometimes the button is gone and the only way to get it back is to log out that character and load it back in.

Sometimes I just hover my mouse over where I know I left the toggle button and it's just not there. It probably disappeared during a zone change as I described above and I just didn't notice it right away, but I can't be sure in these cases.

And sometimes, right after I zone and immediately notice that the button is gone, I will relog to "fix" it and then try the same zone transition to see if it will happen again – but for each of these purposeful tests, it never does!

This button-disappearing thing is rare, it is not motivating me to uninstall the mod. But it is really happening and does not seem to be affecting any of the UI elements of my other installed and active mods so I suspect it is something in the code of Travel Window II rather than something universal as you described.

This is super helpful because it gives clear steps to try and replicate a problem, and also at which code to look.
