I get this error when trying to load BuffBars through the Plugin Manager:
Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\OrendarPlugins\BuffBars\EffectManag er.lua:12: attempt to call field 'LocalPlayer' (a table value)
Seeing as how I know absolutely nothing about Lua scripting, I have no idea how to correct this issue. lol
Thanks in advance!!

I downloaded the new, updated version and I am still getting an error. Someone suggested that I even go so far as to delete the plugin data I had for buffbars. I did, and it still doesn't work.
Any ideas? I miss buffbars...

I have since locked the evil moron Thay in the basement and he will never again be released. ![EEK!](//www.lotrointerface.com/images/style_mmoi_lotroi/smilies/eek.gif) lol Sorry didn't see it at the bottom. I have played around with both of the new versions of each plugin. Meaning if I move items in my bag or loot items, they don't visually appear in FilterBag even though they are there.
Great plugin!

Not sure why but I'll poke around and see what I can find.

Problem with update
I don't think I'm the only one to have this issue, but I cannot get buffbars to load after this new update. I don't get any errors, just the plugin won't load. I didn't realize how accustomed to seeing those bars I was until playing without them today. Is there something I'm not doing, or do we need a slight update to this plugin?
EDIT: I am getting the same errors reported by another user.
EDIT AGAIN: How about I make sure I have the absolute latest version downloaded...that should solve things; lemme check....yep, no problem.
So for anyone else having an issue, make sure you have 1.1.4 (bullroarer version) downloaded and all will be right in the world.

Cool plugin, I'm really liking the look of the buffs and the quickslot potions bar, makes it easy for me as a Warden to see when things like Shield Up are expiring or when I need to pop a fear/wound pot(a lot), or my power pot has cooled down.
Unfortunately I had to disable until Turbine fixes this:
Quote:
Due to a bug in the Turbine quickslot class your skill in position one of your main bar may get overwritten. Quickly swapping it with another slot and back will fix the problem.
|
I tried swapping it, tried overwriting it, but it kept going back to being overwritten by my potions bar. For most classes this wouldn't be a deal breaker, but for a Warden who has his Gambit Default button in Quickslot 1, suffice to say it was not such a good thing when I found it not working while trying to tank Igash.
Any news on if Turbine is aware of this and is trying to fix it? I checked the patch notes for the November Update and it doesn't appear this issue was addressed.

me again
Code:
..Online\Plugins\PengorosPlugins\BuffBars\Settings.lua:58: table index is nil
The "problem" is the tonumber() function. It expects a comma as decimal separator in the german client, and a dot in the english client.
I think, it's Turbine's part to fix this. Either they use always the dotted form (i'd prefer) or use settings depending from the locale. (as returned by Turbine.Engine.GetLocale(), not the compiled language of the client)
Expected launch date for the "november update" in EU is the 7th December. Let's see, if Turbine.PluginData.Load() is fixed then...

Right now the only way to do this is by hiding the bar behind the icon by increasing the icon size to 50 and reducing the bar length to 50. But I would like to have smaller buff icons (something in the range of 30) without having any timer bar attached to it.
Also would it be possible to have the icon flash on expiring as well (or add any other indicator to the icon if the bar is not visible)?

This is something that has been on my todo list, hopefully I can get it put in soon.

You test Turbine.Eninge.GetLocale(). On my system it always returns "de", regardless of client, because of a German Windows Installation. Saved numbers are different from client. The DE-client uses "0,3", the EN-client "0.3". (the decimal separator in Germany is the comma)
I will do some test later this day.
I hope, Turbine does some fixes to the localized clients with the "November"-Update (which we probably get in december in Europe...)

I'm note sure there is anything at this point that I can do to make the two client saved files compatible but I will keep looking.

Since I don't care to have a bar that reminds me I am always in Warspeech, is there a way to decouple the stance-buff and debuff, or is this a limitation of LOTRO's poor choice of naming?
|
Due to the unfortunate naming conflict there isn't anything you can do in the current version with the ignore/show stuff. You may be able to turn on effect logging so you can see what category each one falls into. If they have different categories you could filter one out that way.
