Just for the record...
From: Known Issues for Rise of Isengard - Updated: 9-28-11
LUA
* Plugins that call the inventory will cause the LOTRO client to crash. Disabling these plugins will let the client run normally.
So far, I have not seen (found) any update about this morning's patch (30 Sept.) And Narrel has not yet posted the Documentation for the ROI Lua enhancements.

So far, I have not been able to find any comment from Turbine about the content of this morning's patch (20 Sept). i.e. did it address the Lua issue?
Other items...
Have run for a total of about 12 hours with 2.6 ...no crashes.
Manager/Tonic Bars/Travel active plugins.
BuffBars still causes crash (I haven't figured out how to turn off the inventory stuff.)
|
There was NO patch this morning. Its been posted on the Turbine forums many times that it was only a Server Reboot.

I love this plugin, but since the upgrade in the game, I can't use it any more. It crashes the game when I loot, or try to use a health pot. Also the mini has changed and the Anthem will no longer pop up as they used to. I thank this is doing that as the level one and two Ballads and gone away.
I would love to start using this again, so if some one chould help me out with getting this fixed, I would be greatful....

Did you not read the Red Letter Text at the Top of the page? This is a known Turbine issue released with ROI and will be fixed in a future patch.

In the past this is a problem with Cache on the Browser. If you downloaded it recently, the browser is trying to be smart, but it's not!
Shawn
Thanks not had that issue before ,got 2.6 downloaded now

Are the presets being saved so they will become active again in a future version when Turbine have resolved the issue?
|
As ALWAYS... BACKUP Your Plugin data before upgrading versions... But, this shouldn't affect anything, All I did was remove the code that looked into the backpack and received updates from the backpack. All settings etc remain the same.

Download does link to 2.6 here. I'll start playing with it this evening when I'm home from work. Thanx for the quick workaround, NuclearTonic
I guess it does mean no consumables on the bars untill Turbine fix the code at their end but at least I'll have all skill bars and travel stuff back to what I was used to. One little question 'though. What happens with the slots that used to contain the consumables/other inventory items? Are the presets being saved so they will become active again in a future version when Turbine have resolved the issue?

@Wiof: sounds like you have other issues. Have you updated your drivers?
|
I have the auto update check up. So yes, the latest nVidia driver. The Official Lotro forum is full about the same issue, and WITHOUT plugins on. It is sad that Turbine didn't pay attention while people were already complaining within the beta.

I was in the Beta of RoI, and many mentioned that Plugins were the issue of crashing. Especially when looting. At that time I stopped using plugins, so I can continue to do what you are suppose to do in a beta test.
Well, wait, yesterday, 3 times in the row, within 5 min. after restarting the game, I crashed ,and crashed, and this WITHOUT ANY PLUGINS ON! Not even trying to load any. So, The problem isn't plugins, but they do amplify the LUA bug from Turbine.
Today, I restart my PC, fresh clean memory. Again, but this time, I took a Fast Horse travel, and crashed within the loading screen.

Same problem here. I played the past two nights with no plug ins running because I knew of the bug from Beta. I crashed to my desk top twice ....both times it happened I had gone to a loading screen for swift travel. I also noticed that I was popped into a loading screen while I played for no apparent reason which I guessed may have been due to the heavy volume of people in the zone. At any rate, I hope Lotro patches the client soon. I miss my plug ins.

Thanks for this plugin for starters, been using it a long time now and it rocks.
In regards to this issues all have been having with crashes since RoI launched. I have not been having any problems whatsover with Tonic Bars. Thought I would check here and noticed that I am using a very old version of your plugin.
Version Number is 2.1.1
I have all my pots and food in Tonic Bar Slots and have been using them often since launch, so far I have not had a single crash while using items via tonic bars.
Hope this info can assist in some way.
Cheers
