Re: does not play well w/ LoTRO new plugin manager

When loaded through the lotro plugin manager, the extension bars do not align with the main bar. The utility works fine if loaded manually.

I've experienced the same thing when I used LOTRO Plugin Manager to auto-load TonicBars (v.2.6.2) on login: my main bar (located lower-left of screen with right-extensions) when moused over causes extension to appear (all extensions stacked on the same location) at the top-left of the screen (the same default location as when a new bar is created). When unloaded and loaded again (using LOTRO PM) it works fine. I love the utility and versatility of TonicBars and use it on all my characters... hoping there is some solution to this problem so I can have it auto-load successfully. Thanks!

My extensions also appear at upper left but I load through bootstrap and not the plugin manager. It also drops the icons too.

However on manual load extensions appear correctly and so so the icons.

Thanks for developping this usefull plugin, I love it !

I tried Turbine's extension manager (introduced with update 5) to automatically load my plugin manager (bootstrap).

After this, Tonicbars doesn't displayed anymore consumable/stackable items (pots, foods, parchments, etc... and milestones displayed only their default icon), and refreshing the plugins just leaded each time the game very unstable and made it crash in the upcoming seconds.

I properly reinstalled tonicbars, including deleting the users parameters file --> no progress.

Not using anymore the Turbine's extension manager was the cure,

So my only comment concerning this new feature at the present day is "Run, you fools !"

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Probably Lua bug, but might just be Tonic Bars related

[quote] 2. Triggered bars are not detecting states reliably.

None of my potion bars trigger anymore. I use TB to replace the palantir curable support, but the bars don't show anymore when I'm wounded/feared/poisioned/diseased.[/qoute]

Having a similar problem.
When you go to check that they are set the window is blank yet when you open the drop down list the right box is ticked. Un-ticking and re-ticking then makes the right trigger be shown in the window. However when you got to the next triggered bar it shows as the same value as the one you have just set. Again it is a case of resetting the correct trigger for each bar.

Tried this, and it worked, but only for that play session. Upon my next log-in, triggered bars wouldn't work again.

Unhappy Inventory Bars

As Nuclear Tonic stated before that he had RL issues to sort, and no time for developing the plugin until an unknown date, i fear for the future of TonicBars. I find it as the only indispensable plugin.

In my case, the inventory bars are unreliable, as i said. I wish somebody could find a cure.

Bypassing the ROI/Update 5 issues with TB (and other plugins)

There is a basic interaction problem with TonicBars and the Turbine Plugin Manager.

If you use the Turbine Plugin Manager to load TonicBars, TB does not perform as expected.

If you use the Turbine Plugin Manager to load "Manager," and then use "Manager" to load TonicBars, TB does not perform as expected.

The work-around...
1- Use the Turbine Plugin Manager to load those plugins which have been modified to work with it. (They will display an Icon in the Turbine Plugin Manager window. That I know of ... MooreMap v 1.14 and Travel v 9.5)

2- Do not use the Turbine Plugin Manager to load "Manager"

3- Create a shortcut... /shortcut 13 /plugins load manager

4- Use "manager" to load Tonic Bars

5- Do NOT use "manager to load any Plugin loaded by the Turbine Plugin Manager. (That I know of ... MooreMap v 1.14 and Travel v 9.5)

This basically restores things to operate as they did before Update 5 was released, while allowing use of the Turbine Plugin Manager.
=====
Note, you will need to use "ctl-\ " to reposition any bars stacked in the upper-left corner; then "/plugins unload" and then reload TB to get
the correct positioning back.

I have never used Turbine's plugin manager and have even stopped using manager (on a shortcut) to load TB. I now use a shortcut to load TB directly but I still have the Poison, Wound, Fear & Disease trigger reset every time I load it.

Re: Inventory Bars

If this plugin is not supported any more, what is the best alternative that people are using? I really liked this one, I understand the rl happens, and I'd prefer not to have to change, but having something that unclutters my potions and food is important for me, and having to re-add the inventory items is a hassle.

Missing an option

Hi, thx for this great tool!

When I got away of the extension bars in TonicBars the extension will hide by going outside the area. Sometimes its difficult to move the mouse over the whole extension and it will hide although you've done nothing and have to move at the beginning.
Is it feasible when you go off the extension that it hides by waiting for 1 or 2 seconds or mouseclick outside its area? It could be an option.
And when a skill is clicked it could hide too, but is not necessary.

Thx alot!

BuffBars for curable triggers...like Palantir's buffbar but more flexible. I just wish it had Palantir's wonderful glowey state indicators (ie bright green quickslot when poisoned).

KragenBars for just about everything else, through I really wish there were more user-side tweaking available like in TonicBars. KB's developers put an incredible amount of work into a high quality plugin that has been around for quite a while and is frequently updated. Its class-specific triggers have worked correctly for me so far... but still, without user-editable triggers like in TonicBars, one has to simply trust the KB programmers to have gotten it right. And, it doesn't seem to do triggered curables like TonicBars or BuffBars.

I recommend the relatively new "LOTRO Plugin Compendium" stand alone software also available from the lotrointerface downloads. It is very handy for keeping plugins up to date as well as installing new ones to the right locations and uninstalling all the bits-n-pieces when a plugin is no longer wanted.

Finally, I use Bootstrap to chain load plugins at login, having only to start Bootstrap using an alias command. Also nice is its editable popup window for plugin-specific commands.

What I like best about TonicBars is automatically filling quiuckslots from inventory using keywords.
But TonicBar's occasional disappearance of skill bars and issues with inventory bars happen too often at critical moments for me to use it until fixed.

Wonderful update....

Glad to see you back -- hopefully your new little ones are now "behaving" and letting daddy get back to "important things" like LOTRO!

Believe me, I know what a "chore" giving mommy time-off from taking care of them can be. Give my best wishes to her as well. Fortunately, mine are old enough to have paid for their own VIP accounts!

Just installed 2.6.3 using LPC -- worked like a charm.

Installing Tonic Bars vis LPC - LOTRO Plugin Compendium

IMPORTANT -- there is now a Java based version of LPC available for use with Mac and Linux systems (For those of us who play LOTRO using CrossOver Games (CXG) or WINE.)
http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...mMacLinux.html

Now that TonicBars is manageable via LPC, the recommended technique is to "delete" the folder "Tonic" from your "plugins" folder, and then use LPC to "add" TonicBars. Thereafter, LPC will track any updates as they are made available.

Note: removing the "Tonic" folder WILL NOT change any of your TB settings -- they are stored in the folder "PluginData."

2.6.3 vs Turbine

It appears that when 2.6.3 is loaded by the Turbine Plugin Manager, the Inventory bars still stack up on top of the Character Portrait in the Upper-Left of the screen instead of "where they belong." Note that the Quickslot bars are not mis-located.

Moving them back, (using ctl-\) unloading all plugins, and then using Shady's Manager to load TB, finds the Inventory Bars in their correct location.

However, moving them back, (using ctl-\), logging out the character and then back in, the Turbine Manager load still places the Inventory Bars in the Upper-Left location.

Post Bug report 2.6.3

1. When trying to move a quickbar I get this:

Online\Plugins\Tonic\UI\MenuUtils.lua:192: attempt to compare string with number

2. When loading Tonicbars with lotro plugin-manager, all inventory items are removed from slots, only skills remain. I should note that I take a long time on loading screen, but that is not so unusual, many have that.

3. If I am in a quickslot menu and set a trigger to e.g. Fear, and then switch to another quickslot, then the trigger still shows Fear even though its set to Wound.

4. When pressing F12 to remove UI to take screenshot, the Tonicbar button, remains on screen.
