Well Lotro did A hotfix today, not sure if it was for the API or not. However I did have a question..Is there a way to have Planatir save the curable slots that you selected and autoload them upon your next game session without having to set it up again?
The hotfix was server-side only, so sadly, no client side fixes yet (including the API).

As far as your question goes, Palantir should be saving anything you put in the curable slots, so it displays them again when you load it up again. If it is not, then first make sure you've got the most recent version (1.09.3). If you do, then I'm not sure exactly what the issue is right now - as without testing actual backpack items, it does appear to be saving things for me.

I will take a look at testing it with items once they release a patch to fix the backpack bug. Please let me know if there's anything unusual about your setup, and which plugins you're currently running with Palantir - as there may be a conflict that would result in sketchy saving.

I'm glad at least something worked

I'm not sure why others haven't had that issue - perhaps they did, but instead of asking they just decided not to use it. To be honest, it's not like I blame them - simply not using something is easier than asking if there's a solution. However, since you've taken the time, maybe others will see this and use it to solve the problem on their end as well.

Problem solved

Quote:
While having Curable Support enabled, open up the options panel by typing the command: /palantir options

This will cause the quickslots themselves to appear under the debuff bar. From there you should be able to simply drag the item(s) off the slot(s) as you would if you were to remove any other shortcut from a quickslot. Once you do this, you should be fine. To be extra careful, I would recommend unloading plugins, and then reloading Palantir to force the changes to be saved.
For whatever reason, I have been unable to drag the items off the slots. I tried doing exactly what I do to drag an item out of a quickslot, but though it looked like I was dragging it, the items actually stayed there. I reverted to the normal UI to try it, even ensured quickslots were unlocked in case that was affecting it, but no luck following your suggestion. Really have no idea why it's not working.

If for some reason this does not work, or causes a crash, there is one additional option:

Go to:

/My Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/PluginData/<account_name>/<server_name>/<character_name>/

- replacing the last three folders with your own account name, server name(s) and character name(s) - and delete the file Quickslot.plugindata for each character, which will return Palantir to the default quickslot settings (i.e. nothing) for those characters.
Since your first suggestion didn't work for me, I followed the second one above, and that did indeed work, thankfully. Glad it did, I would really miss my Palantir! I have no idea why I can't drag the items off the debuff bar, but happy that this did the trick. Thanks for the recommendations.

I have a stupid question that I feel silly asking, but how the heck do I remove my curable pots from the debuff bar? I have ensured that I have my quickslots unlocked, and I am unable to remove them by dragging them off. I see no other way to remove them. I'm sure it's easily done, but I guess I haven't had enough coffee yet today, because I can't figure it out. I've had to disable Palantir entirely because even though I have the bar set to the display only, if I try to use any of those pots out of my pack or my regular quickslots, it crashed me out of the game. For what it's worth, I am using JRR "A" UI, but also went back to the default game UI in case there was something in JRR that was causing me to not be able to remove the potions, but still can't drag them off the bar.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Crashes

Game crashes when I click on the icon on the Plugin to use a pot, always happens.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate any and all bug reports - but I'm also aware that nothing is gained, and both your and my time is wasted if I'm already aware of the issue.

With that in mind, I try my best to make it known when I'm already aware of an issue - including posting information to my blog, my facebook page, my twitter feed, in bold red text at the top of this very page, and now below:

Quote:
RoI has introduced a bug in the API that will cause the client to crash-to-deskop upon clicking an inventory item that's equipped in a curable slot. Turbine has admitted that the issue is on their end, and will release a fix with the next patch.

Until that patch comes, please remove all inventory items from the curable slots to avoid this issue. Besides that, there should be no further issues with Palantir in RoI - including using skills in curable slots.
At any rate, thanks for taking the time to post, as I realize there have been plenty of times when bugs have appeared that I was unaware of. In the future however, you can save yourself some valuable time by taking a glance at the top of the page first. Any situations that I'm aware of, and feel may effect even a portion of the users will be put there.

Would it be possible to create/implement other graphical styles than the space ship HUD fashion?
The next version of Palantir (v2) will introduce the ability to add custom bar skins and will at least include one aditional bar style.

I'm planning on having it ready around Isengard launch - but it depends on how quickly I can get Thelyn (Android app) done.

I would like this mod 10x better if we could somehow hide the player portrait window
Technically you can, by checking the "Hide Player Vitals" checkbox in the main options page - however, the caveat is that you lose access to the right-click menu by doing so.

The best option right now is to use a skin to modify the size/appearance of the player portrait/vitals - so that it's effectively nothing more than an icon that allows you access to that menu.

There's one I linked to a bit further down this page that should work - or at the very least, use as a reference to further customize it to suit your needs/desires.

Besides that, as soon as Turbine gives us access to that menu - I will be sure to add something to completely replace the portrait/player vitals

Palantir & Bredic's Lotro Mod Manager

Just wanted to point out that both of these will work together.

However you must either unzip Palantir and give just the DigitalUtopia folder to Mod Manager, or do a manual install. Thereafter using /manager will allow Mod Manager to enable/disable Palantir within the game.

Re: question

Quote:
Is there an option to assign moral and power pot clickables below the bars in the same way as the cure ones?
Not at this time, and frankly, I doubt there will be. In fact, there's a good chance that even curable support is going to be dropped in the next version. I'll save the whole "What I feel Palantir should be" speech for another time, but more practically - if you took 4 quickslots from any bars plugin, placed them directly under the debuff bar, filled them with cureables, you'd have the exact same result - and wouldn't even have to set cooldowns in the options.

This isn't about saving time/effort for myself though. Rather, it's the belief that complexity only serves a purpose if the result is better than what can already be easily created (i.e. ordinary quickslot bars). In order to come up with a better solution, I need to know exactly what everybody feels are the downsides to a simple quickslot bar - so I can work on solving these downsides.

Quote:
I don't know if you're adding anything to the current build, but i thought it would be a good idea to add a commandline toggle for displaying/hiding the default vitals frame. I don't keep it visible, but there is sometimes a need for the actual play menu, for instance to leave a skirmish early or something. So instead of loading the options, and toggling the frame for 5s, i would just be able to type a commandline, do what i need, and run the command again to hide it.
.Regards
That's a very good idea - and while I will include it in the next version, the only way it will show up before then is if Turbine makes me need to release a fix, or some stealth bug shows itself in the current version.
