Re: delay?

Love this addon - thanks!
Why is there a ~20s delay before my character plays any tunes?
|
Welcome!
As for the delay, I'm not sure. But at least some songs seem to take a moment to start. There's empty bars with no music for some reason or another. Of course it's another thing if it happens with any and all files.

Uploaded a new version which supports any song part numbering scheme. There's also a new toggleable parts display which can be used to view and directly select song parts. There's also some minor layout bug fixes.

Re: songbook hta still won't run

Darn songbook still won't run for me At least i got a window this time with the new update. Says publisher could not be verified blah blah blah and i clicked yes but then it just opens notepad and nothing runs. Also got a microsoft error message and i sent the error to them.

Hm, yes this must be related to some strict security rules and user account rights. Not sure if I do anything about that short of coding the script in another language. And also, seems like it is using notepad as the default application to open .hta files with. You could try if you can change that somehow.

I am running XP so what you suggested didn't work for me. However, I deleted all the files in my music folder, and added a few at a time, and everything is working fine. The fact that the .hta file created a different folder using a name that isn't my log in name seems to make no difference to the program. Thanks for the advice.

Hm yes, you can of course move the data file to the right place if it's not where it's supposed to be. Anyhow, would be still interesting to know why the user name detection didn't work.

It should look for all the user names even if you have more than one listed. So in that listbox there's only one name if you click it? And it's not the one you are using? In that case I'm not sure what is going on as it gets the name from TurbineLauncher settings. Actually, if it cannot find those settings it will give you an input box to fill out your user name. So, until the real issue is identified, a temporary solution would be to find your TurbineLauncher settings file, rename it at least temporarily, and then run the .hta file.
The settings file should be located at (at least in Vista and W7):
c:\Users\<windowsuser>\AppData\Local\Turbine\The Lord of the Rings Online\Launcher\LauncherUserSettings.xml
It's a hidden folder so you might have to first unhide those in Explorer. But, typing the correct location might go there directly anyway.
Edit: I could also make a version where it gives the input box anyway, but it's disregarded if empty.

Heh, I'm sure that the script part will continue to give some problems, but at least a large majority of people can enjoy it now I hope.

Fixed two 'unable to parse file' bugs. Also, version 0.54 no longer requires Turbine plugin package.

Well, it is a song collection from over 3 years some never played. Out of 62/12 did not work, tried the split 10 .. and it stalled on the first try. I don't do it all at once .. just takes some time I guess

I have the db file now too so I can do the dirty work later today . At least I can try to find out if it's possible to fix and prevent in the next version.

Anyways love it as I can now browse the files while playing .. maybe I try some I didn't see before, as the names are displayed as well
Thanks a million ...

I have removed the whole folder Music from the Lotro Folder made a new Music folder in the direction and loaded one music file. It works
I have mailed the requested file before I deleted it and build a new song library.
Guess that means to sort through 345 music files to find the buggy ones... oh my

Heh, yes it can be bothersome. Usually I split the files in two first. Then I know which half isn't working, hopefully just one of them . Then I continue to split until I get to the problem. Or another option is to add maybe 10 files at a time to see when it stops working.
