Woo! The html version worked! I can't log in to check to see if the plugin itself worked but it did detect all the files I had in my Music library.

Actually, already found a bug. But fixed it and uploaded it to the same place here. You will have to download and run it again, sorry .

You are probably missing the Turbine plugin package. Instructions and download can be found here (second download link on that post).
Actually that dependency can probably be removed safely, but that will have to wait for the next bugfix release.

I converted the vbs script into a html based application (.hta). It will also try to automatically detect your lotro user name from TurbineLauncher configuration files. This version is not included in the release, but you can find it here if you care to give it go. It will also guide you a bit better (I hope) in case there are any problems.
Don't expect fancy looks .

Re: Re: New Error Message
I'm not sure.. it sounds like the game finds the Songbook.plugin file but not the directory where the actual plugin is.
Could you double check that the files are located like this.
songbook.plugin file here
The Lord of The Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\
and all lua and image files here
The Lord of The Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\
-Chiran
It was the file paths, Thanks for the clarification. Everything is working now and I am excited!

Any ideas what could be going wrong here? Your Songbook plugin (.51) is listed in the /plugins refresh and /plugins list .
I noticed some posters had to use a different vbs file for differents OS's, could that be it? Thanks!

New Error Message
I am running windows 7, 64-bit. I followed all of your instructions for download and generating the songbook using the vbs which appeared to work fine. When I try to load the songbook plugin in the game, I get the following error message which I have not seen elsewhere on this thread. "Unable to resolve packge "Chiran.Songbook.Main" , Unable to load Songbook."

Hmm ... with the latest version, regenerated the song list and now the message "\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua:21: Unable to parse file!" when I try to load the addon.
I've tried deleting the plugin data files and regenating them, but no luck.

This probably happens when something nasty gets into the database file and the plugin cannot load it. If you want to troubleshoot it, you can try running the script first with only few .abc files in Music directory and also observe what the SongbookData.plugin file contains after running the script. Will continue to investigate this as well.
I've also planning to build a nicer, 'real' user interface for the script.

Ok, I made version 0.51. Should be downloadable soon. Seems like the bug you mentioned is more elusive and I wanted to get a fix up there for the other one.
I did test a library with many directories, two of which had over 1600 songs and root was one of those. So it doesn't seem to be the size only. I do know that LUA doesn't do well with filenames that have special characters like accents. But that shouldn't stop the plugin from loading, however those specific songs might not play.

ok found out the issue. If you have over 600 songs it can't parse that many lines. I got up to 600 songs before it errored out. Tried different song combos too so it wasn't the files themselves.

Thanks for troubleshooting this! One definite problem is the empty root folder, I have a fix for it now. However, there's probably something fishy going on with the number of files too which is a bit more complex as it has been tested with more than 600. I will have to investigate that a bit more before putting out a bugfix release.

This is the error I'm getting:
You said something about case-sensitivity in the Target field... does it perhaps matter that my LOTRO username is lowercase?
Cithryth if you haven't gotten the Songbook.vbs to work, try entering it like this:
...songbook.vbs" Cithryth "C:\Users\Cithryth\Documents"
that assumes that your My Documents folder is at the above location, if its different just change the "C:\Users\Cithryth\Documents" to where ever your My Documents folder is.
And I'm not sure it should make a difference but it wouldn't work for me without adding the " 's.

Thinking that maybe it was having issues with a certain song, I tried moving all songs but two out of the directory. the error ingame changed to this now:
Quote:
...gs Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua: 356: Index out of range.
|
I'll keep troubleshooting and see if i can find out what is the problem.
