Issue
Not sure what is going on having been using Songbook for a long time its a great addon.
What happens now (after I updated it) is that no music is heard, I can select any song and play and see the notes comming off the instrument but no sound. If I stop it and manually play (hitting one of the note keys I bound in key bindings) I can hear that note being played.
I am not seeing any errors and have completed removed and reinstalled the pluging, tried manually loading, not sure what going on - any suggestions?
***Apparently the music system is broken according to this post and people are experiencing the same thing, seeing the music playing but not hearing it....
"It seems that Update 11: Treachery of the White Hand has introduced some new bugs to the music system. Observers in this thread in the General Forum and this thread in the Music Forum found that, like the previous bug found after Update 10, there are new circumstance under which players are not able to hear music while playing."

That is the exact same thing that I am experiencing. It randomly worked for me one, but it does not work any more, and nothing is solving the issue. Even uninstalling everything and re-uploading had no effect on the program. Sucks to know that update 11 brought it about, but hopefully ithe issue can be resolved quickly.
Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this, and not totally crazy...

Re: Re: Issue
Ahh, ok that's a bit weird. I didn't notice this myself, so it does seem a bit random. Thanks for the heads up!
I suspect there's nothing I can do about it myself as the plugin is merely a user interface for the music system.

Issue
Hi,
I found and downloaded this wonderful plugin since yesterday.
But... I don't know why... I have a weird problem.
When I launch "songbook.hta", the songbook music library generator appear. But, my ACTUAL username account do not appear in it. The only username choice I have is an old username from an old account I haven't used for years !
The plugin itself works very well if I cute/past "SongbookData.plugindata" into my actual account file but... Well...
I wanted to konw if this problem is solvable

Opacity
I have a strange problem with the opacity settings. When I choose 1 on the opacity slider and save the settings the button has a correct opacity, but when I put a cursor on the button it highlights and then the opacity changes back to the standard one.

Re: Issue
I'm not sure where it goes wrong, but it tries to find the turbine configuration file where the account names are located. So for some reason the new account cannot be found there.
The file it looks for is at:
<windows user dir>\AppData\Local\Turbine\The Lord of The Rings Online\Launcher\LauncherUserSettings.xml
<windows user dir> is for example c:\users\john
For Windows XP the path is slightly different. But that file should list all available accounts for turbine launcher. I'm not quite sure how it works out if there's, for example multiple installations of the game.

Re: Opacity
Yep, that's an embarrasing and honest bug. I just wonder why I (or no one else, for that matter) didn't notice it :-/. I will make a new release.

I was able to find the file you were talking about. I just changed two lines and your plugin now works like a charm !
Thank you.

I tried all my different instruments on my minstrel. The wind instruments including pigborn and bagpipes play fine, but all the strings, from harp to theorbo are silent! Very strange!
My kinnie who was in fellowship and playing in sync had the same problem, her champ could play horn but not lute.

Strings and Drums
Continuing to investigate --
Other minis report the same problem. Wind instruments work fine, strings and drums are silent in Songbook.
Playing single key music works, and minstrel ballads work. So it does not seem to be the game program.
Problem in Breetown, walk across the border into Breeland and no problem. Problem in homesteads and in Enedwaith.
Strange.

Re: Strings and Drums
Same thing should probably happen if you use normal '/play song.abc' chat commands I take it? At least then it's not the plugin.

Strings and Drums
Seems that this is a known bug.
Workaround is to play in Southern Bree Fields instead of Breetown.
Thorin's Hall is also a safe zone, it seems.
Other places are chancy.
So it is NOT the plugin. Turbine problem.

Yes, but take care that the musicians and the audience share the same area name below the minimap. While everything there is 'Bree-land' (and you can hear yourself), you can't hear each other when one character is in 'Chetwood', and the other one is in 'Andrath' (for example) - even if they are standing side-by-side!

While we're at it: I've made an update (v1.2) for the WAN Songbook Filler. Up to v1.1, local times were read from the music directories which caused complete re-reading twice a year (at start/end of daylight saving time). Now, with v1.2, UTC times are read and stored; so the directories are completely re-read just once more (when upgrading to v1.2) and then never again (instead of twice a year). Hope that helps the ~120 people who have downloaded it
