Re: Re: Songbook Icon not working

Hi Belwynne,

I'm not quite sure what's the problem but it could be related to that old localization issue. I would suggest unloading the plugin (or being out of game) deleting your settings file. It should be at:
\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<lotrouser>\AllServers\SongbookS ettings.plugindata

Then loading the plugin again. I hope that might solve the issue!

-Chiran

Tried your suggestion and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the quick (and perfect) response, Chiran.

Bel

That was the very thing! It seems to be working just fine now. Thank you!

I've tried loading and unloading it via plugin manager and entering chatbox commands but nothing changed.
There are no error messages either and this happens on all servers I'm on regardless of wheter or not it loads automatically when I login.

I've had Lyrical just as long as Songbook and that's working fine.

Any idea what's happened and how I can fix it?
Hi Lunastrad,

I'd offer the same instructions as Belwynne previously. So if you could try deleting the settings file and then loading the plugin again. I'm just beginning to think if I might have broken something with the recent update. But I'll fix it then!

In any case, if it's again that same old localization issue that I may have forgotten to account for.. well I'd like give my regards to that person whose great idea that was.

Unhappy Can't see Songbook

I've only been away from the game for a wee while (since before U11) but on returning a few days ago I found that I could not open Songbook.
The exact problem is that when I click the Songbook icon, nothing appears to happen. I say "appears" because nothing visibly changes, but if I hover over something that would be behind the Songbook menu, no tooltips appear. So basically something is there, I just can't see it.
Now, between coming back and discovering I couldn't open it I had gotten the JRR UI Skins collection and HugeBag plugins. I thought maybe that was the problem, so I disabled those and tried again. Still nothing. Then I downloaded the update Songbook and still no change.
I've tried loading and unloading it via plugin manager and entering chatbox commands but nothing changed.
There are no error messages either and this happens on all servers I'm on regardless of wheter or not it loads automatically when I login.

Songbook Icon not working

Can you help me?

I play Lotro on Landroval.

I've downloaded Songbook, built my song library, refreshed the plugin in-game, loaded it. I've been using it happily and successfully for some time.

When I logged in today I could load and refresh Songbook and the icon is on my screen.

But when I click on the (now nicely opaque) icon nothing happens. /songbook show doesn't bring up the songbook either. In fact, none of the Songbook commands can be made to work.

I am standing with Andune in the Breefields by the wagon where everyone elses songbook works.

Any ideas? I've tried re-downloading, moving my UI around in case the box was covered...nada.

I appreciate your help. I miss Songbook!

While we're at it: I've made an update (v1.2) for the WAN Songbook Filler. Up to v1.1, local times were read from the music directories which caused complete re-reading twice a year (at start/end of daylight saving time). Now, with v1.2, UTC times are read and stored; so the directories are completely re-read just once more (when upgrading to v1.2) and then never again (instead of twice a year). Hope that helps the ~120 people who have downloaded it
Very nice, thanks!

Yes, but take care that the musicians and the audience share the same area name below the minimap. While everything there is 'Bree-land' (and you can hear yourself), you can't hear each other when one character is in 'Chetwood', and the other one is in 'Andrath' (for example) - even if they are standing side-by-side!

Exclamation Strings and Drums

Seems that this is a known bug.

Workaround is to play in Southern Bree Fields instead of Breetown.

Thorin's Hall is also a safe zone, it seems.

Other places are chancy.

So it is NOT the plugin. Turbine problem.

Re: Re: Strings and Drums

Same thing should probably happen if you use normal '/play song.abc' chat commands I take it? At least then it's not the plugin.

-Chiran

Yeah, you are right. So I filed a bug report ... lot of good that will do.

Strange ...

Continuing to investigate --

Other minis report the same problem. Wind instruments work fine, strings and drums are silent in Songbook.

Playing single key music works, and minstrel ballads work. So it does not seem to be the game program.

Problem in Breetown, walk across the border into Breeland and no problem. Problem in homesteads and in Enedwaith.

Strange.

Exclamation Re: Re: Re: Issue

Ahh, ok that's a bit weird. I didn't notice this myself, so it does seem a bit random. Thanks for the heads up!

I suspect there's nothing I can do about it myself as the plugin is merely a user interface for the music system.

-Chiran

I tried all my different instruments on my minstrel. The wind instruments including pigborn and bagpipes play fine, but all the strings, from harp to theorbo are silent! Very strange!

My kinnie who was in fellowship and playing in sync had the same problem, her champ could play horn but not lute.

Re: Re: Issue

Quote:
I'm not sure where it goes wrong, but it tries to find the turbine configuration file where the account names are located. So for some reason the new account cannot be found there.

The file it looks for is at:
<windows user dir>\AppData\Local\Turbine\The Lord of The Rings Online\Launcher\LauncherUserSettings.xml

<windows user dir> is for example c:\users\john

For Windows XP the path is slightly different. But that file should list all available accounts for turbine launcher. I'm not quite sure how it works out if there's, for example multiple installations of the game.

-Chiran
I was able to find the file you were talking about. I just changed two lines and your plugin now works like a charm !
Thank you.
