OK once I set the default directory for searching songs, there seems to be no way of changing it, can you change this behavior?

(its irritating as hell trying to change the folder this even after i uninstall this several times, IMHO its a crap way of doing it)
Not sure what you mean. Do you mean the search feature in the in-game plugin or the .hta file which is used outside the game to build the library?

-Chiran
There is only one file you supply that set the directory for searches outside the game, if it was possible to change directories inside the game this wouldnt be such an issue and wouldnt need the .hta, using an editable config file (.cfg .ini etc) to set the default folder. That how I see it.

Sorry, no workaround. So we EU players have to wait a few days more before the latest version works. But, you can download an earlier version from the archive section on the bottom. You won't miss out that much .

Hey i'm completely new to this and I read a post down but didn't get it.

When I try to load using /plugins load songbook, I get:

...gs Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua: 968: attempt to call method 'ClearItems' (a nil value)

I just wanna know why this happens, and if I can fix it any way?

I'm on an EU server. I understand the latest version doesn't work but you mentioned something about a work around or something?

Thanks for your help

Using search I get:
Code:
...gs Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua:1055: attempt to call method 'ClearItems' (a nil value)
I cannot click anything anymore from the list.
Clear button gives:
Code:
...gs Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua:968: attempt to call method 'ClearItems' (a nil value)
Is this because of the new update?
Yes, this latest version doesn't work on EU servers until the game is patched.

(In this case, the native ClearItems didn't work before the patch, so I had another function to replace it. There are some other things as well that work after patch and workarounds aren't needed anymore.)

Well that other plugin manager seems to handle the single dev/multi mod issue better. Using the delete button, it has to kill all the mods by the same developer, which I can live with until someone goes the extra mile to make a full-on Curse style updater
a little thing i learned somewhere here on the forum :
- you dont need to delete the old version yourself
- you dont need to unzip the new folder yourself

you just select the .zip and throw it into the little window, and it does all the work.
Until now nothing to complain and it seems to deal very good with the folders.

The only problem you may encounter is when the author of the addon put the folder into another folder and another folder.
Then it seems that even if it is unzipped by the manager, Lotro wont recognize them and so dont load them.

So if you have sometime a little problem check if the addon you want to add has the good system of folder

---hope my explanation are clear enough, sorry for my approximative english--

I am, however, still getting this error trying to use SongBook.

...gs Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua: 1178: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

Any thoughts on that? I removed and added it again.
Haven't seen that one before at least. I will have to see if I can find anything that could be related to that. Have you run the new songbook.hta before starting the plugin?

Never mind. It would help if I weren't dumb.

Turns out I never ran the HTA file.

What was that thing in the 70s? RIF? Reading Is Fundamental?

Sorry about that, all is well, thanks for all the hard work, as always

if that can help you a little, there is another mode working actually to install out of game your addons.

It is called Lotr:O Plugin Assistant.
I use it actually and is easy to use.

Once in game you can either load then your addons manually with their own commands or use for example Lotro Manager.

May be you could check those and then use the Songbook and Lotropad together
I was looking at that one, but it didn't look anywhere near as appealing. Guess I'll give it a try, thanks

As a side note, I'm getting this error trying to load SongBook:

Code:
...gs Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua:1178: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)
I usually completely delete the add-on before adding the new one. Again, maybe it's something to do with the MOD manager. I'll do some more research.

Thanks for the update.

Sadly, while I'd like to use both of your mods, I can only use one, so I'll pick the song book.

If I try to use both lotropad and songbook, lotro mod manager gets confused, and thinks they are the same thing. I went though this before, and it may or may not be something you have control over, and it is what it is.

Yes, the guy who made lotro mod manager crawled into a spider hole somewhere, very sad. However, he seems to be the only one who stepped up to at least 'try' to make a nice friendly installer tool. I saw one other, but there is as little activity on that as this one, and it's certainly not attractive.

So until someone steps up and makes a nice beast like the curse one I used to use with WoW, I guess I can only use one addon per developer.

Unless someone writes a better mod manager, of course.

Hm yes, I believe LMM 1.0.5 should fix this problem. But I'm not sure what the status is with that one anymore. It has been under works for a while. Too bad you have to choose, though copying stuff in the plugin directory is quite easy too. Although LMM is convenient, it's definately not necessary.

Basically the issue for LMM is that there's two plugins in one author directory. So for example if you delete one, the other one is outside the window as well.
