no songs ingame
Hallo, I am from Germany and I try to wrote you my problem.
If I start the songbook.hta file I got an error message that in the spript is an error in row 248. And that the expected service cannot be startet.
Now I can click yes or no and the window disapears. If I click on build song library it found my songs and show me the path.
But ingame there is an error message that no songs are found and that I have to run songbook.hta.
What can I do.
Many thanks for help

Just a silly question
At most of our concerts/events we predefine a setlist/playlist on beforehand, so people in our band know exactly what song we shall play next. It would be awesome to sort of have function so I could click on the song on beforehand and make a certain order of them.. maybe is me just beeing lazy. hehe.. But I think I would have better control, and people would now exactly what song would come next, and I could concentrate on introducing songs, and emoting
Just an idea, not a must have. I think the songbook is awesome as it is

Hm, if you have version 0.61 then it should show the window on load. To load the plugin type:
/plugins charger songbook
To commands for the plugin are:
/songbook afficher - Afficher l'interface de SongBook
/songbook cacher - Cacher l'interface de SongBook
/songbook basculer - Basculer entre visible et caché
/songbook - Affiche la liste des commandes en jeu
I cannot test the French version at the moment, so not sure what the problem might be :-/. Does it give any error message on the chat window? Do other plugins work?

It's all good ^^.

Is there not a way that you can utilise the /playlist command into your Songbook plugin to (auto)update the song list in-game? The /playlist command always reads out the directory so there is something built into the client to do such thing.
|
It would be a nice command to do that, and searches, but sadly plugins cannot read chat at all so the information cannot be passed back to them :-/.

P.S. is it possible to add or create Art Asset IDs? If so I'd like to be able to make graphics for the buttons to fit my skin
|
I don't know that much about skinning, but I assume only Turbine can create those and choose what can be skinned. But you can replace the ones that come with the plugin with your own ones if you like . The buttons are the icn* files in the plugin directory and they are 35x35 pixel tga images. Has to be done manually of course .

A possible suggestion/request for a future version: Put in an option to have the plugin load with the window hidden. I use the plugin manager to load it, but I don't always want the window showing. I t would be nice to have an option like Lotropad does and have the window hidden at startup.

'
The next version has that option and a 'startup icon' like Lotropad has . It will be released when we get the next game update.

Problem solved Chiran!
It didn't like my abc files with all caps in their names. Like BWH.ABC instead of Bwh.abc.
I'm guessing it doesn't like to be yelled at, heehee. Not sure why I had them all saved like that in the first place.
Anyway, they all loaded up just fine. I went in with my Minstrel and wow, that is one sexy program you've made. I absolutely love this!
Thanks again for the feedback, looking forward to seeing what else you can come up with. Maybe have some sort of music bar timer which winds down as the song plays,
not sure if that is even possible. Again, many thanks with this.
Cheers!

Oh, that's great! That you solved it I mean . It makes perfect sense now, the script does indeed look for .abc extension and it is case-sensitive, which weirdly enough hasn't come up yet. I guess that's actually something I should fix. So thanks for the bug report hehe.
The timer is actually a great idea. It's just a bit tricky to make since there's no concrete information about the length of a song. Some abc writers have written that in the song title though, but it's not something you can count on really. Still, there may be something that can be done with it .

Everyone in The Shades had the Plugin in use yesterday, when we did a performance in Mess Hall. And we can't praise enough the plugin. We saved a huge amount of time and it was easier to have control on our song.
Thank you Chiran!

It has my Lotro Username correctly selected. My Documents folder has been on the same drive as always.
It looks like it knows where it's at but for some strange reason it's not finding the songs.
I checked every song, they play ingame, it reads them all just fine.
I might just have to wait on this and see if it's from something else that's maybe confusing things.
I really appreciate your hard work on helping me with this though. I have quite a few plugins installed and they're working just fine too fyi.
I'll keep trying and letting you know on my end here.
Thanks again Chiran!

No problem, I want to solve this too . You could try this version of the .hta. It should at least tell you where it thinks the Music directory is.

Hi Chiran, yes I can play them all just fine ingame.
They are located in the Music folder, inside the The Lord of the Rings Online folder where the screenshots are saved like you've stated.
The files are .abc too so I have no idea why it's not reading them. A head scratcher isn't it?
Thanks for helping with this mate.

Hm yes, what it does is fairly straightforward at that point. It checks the location of user's Documents (or My Documents) folder and appends the path to to the Music folder. Then it recursively reads .abc files from there on. Has your Documents folder (or user profile) been relocated to another drive perhaps? Though, it 'should' be able to track that too. But who knows, sometimes things can get complicated. On the other hand, it clearly thinks that it found the correct music folder.
Also does it correctly determine your LOTRO user? Although it shouldn't matter at this point when it's reading the songs, only after it when it's writing the database.
