Wow, quick reply ;-)
Instant email notification ftw .

I just downloaded the Lotro Beta Lua Documentation and there Turbine.Engine:GetLocale() is described as:
"Gets a string identify the locale the application is set to."

If this is not the case, it must be another bug ;-)
I'm not sure if it's a bug, but as far as I know it reports Windows locale. For example, for me it returns 'fi' and I'm using EN client. So it's not that useful really. Someone from Germany could use EN client and that method would still return 'de'.

The really weird thing is: If you use a german client on an english windows (or even a german windows with an english number formatting), everything goes well. If you use the german number formatting in windows AND the german client, you have the ,<->. bug
oh... that's how I understand this now... ;-)
Yes it seems that to reproduce this you have to set German locale AND use German client. So it's a bit bothersome to troubleshoot .

Just have to say: I really like your addon! Thanks for and all your work on it!
Thanks!

One last idea - Is it possible or do you think it would make sense...:
Directly displaying the 1st track name behind the Filename?
I guess it would be possible. Or add a tooltip to display the track name. But, on the other hand renaming songs might have other positive effects as well :P.

Directly displaying the 1st track name behind the Filename?

E.g.: ABCFilename -- ABC Track name

Cause.. I have many abc files that only have numbers as filenames (1, 2, ...). I have to click on every file, to see what it is
Yes I know, I could change the filename... ;-)

I red in the german forums, that you maybe will implement a localisation check in one of your next versions?
Maybe you can make use of the Getlocale function:
Turbine.Engine:GetLocale()

This will return a string: "de", "fr" or "en"

Maybe this Workaround from Vindar for the localisation ,. Bug may help you too as you also save window positioning data:

I have a version coming up that works with German clients. However, I'm doing the locale detection in a different way. GetLocale doesn't quite function as you describe. It returns windows locale (I think), not the client language version.

You shouldn't need the localization fix from Vindar with the new version either. Stay tuned .

When I said "one more chat tab" I meant one more than the current limit. Chat tabs are not unlimited. You start with 3 (General, Combat, and IM)and you can add up to 2 more tabs.

I'm looking for someone to do French translations for Songbook. So if anyone knows someone who could help with that, please contact me .

Yes, and it also helps if you detach that tab you want to keep an eye on, and place it elsewhere on the screen.

But, having the plugin post to the game chat system, in this case, would not be helpful. It would need to be within the plugin window itself to be really helpful. I am realizing now that in order to do this, one plugin from one player would need to "speak" to the other plugins of another player and this is not allowed (for good reason). So, maybe I'll just sacrifice my Combat tab, heh,
Yes, that's the other possibility. So either:
1) plugins could parse chat log and pick necessary bits from there
or
2) plugins could communicate with each other

Either one would open a lot of possibilities for plugins in general. But especially number 2 would probably open a whole new can of worms .

Yes, I can definitely see the problem. But at the moment there's no way for plugins to hook into the chat system. One thing that might help is to make a chat tab with only 'standard' chat filter enabled, and use that tab to check the status. But maybe you are doing that already.
Yes, I do already separate chat tabs and put fellowship/raid/standard in one tab by itself. But the bandleader who works the Ales and Tales event on Landroval must also watch the /say channel and /tell for cues from the host as to when the band plays, where the group may be moving, etc. And in a role-playing event the /say channel can be a little congested and tends to fly by too fast. What would really be helpful is if the game allowed us to create one more chat tab... or I suppose we could sacrifice the Combat tab...

Thanks, I hope it will work out for you .

... Even though we do use a Ready-Check sometimes members have mistakenly queued up the wrong song or the wrong instrument part... the only way to catch this is for the bandleader to look at the chat box. If that particular bit of chat could be grabbed and displayed by Songbook it would make checking parts much easier! Maybe have it grab all of "standard" chat?

The only way I could see this work with Songbook is to make a separate button that would paste something to the group chat. And actually this is a feature I have been planning to do. Of course, it isn't as convenient since first you would have to click sync play and then another button to advertise what song/track you are about to play.

Lets hope that future updates to the plugin system will bring a better solution to this.

Love this plugin!

This tool is fabulous! I can't wait to use it for Band practice

Request:

As a band leader, I really appreciate the Ready-Check button and the /playstart button! One thing that is really difficult to keep track of in the chat box during a very "chatty" event like a music concert is the chat-spew of each member syncing up. Is it possible to have Songbook grab these and display them in a chat box below the window? Even though we do use a Ready-Check sometimes members have mistakenly queued up the wrong song or the wrong instrument part... the only way to catch this is for the bandleader to look at the chat box. If that particular bit of chat could be grabbed and displayed by Songbook it would make checking parts much easier! Maybe have it grab all of "standard" chat?

Hi there, the file was inside the zip with the other files so it should be there where you unzipped those. The location should be: <windows documents folder>\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Chiran\
