I see, I misread your original post. You want the plugin to load minimized. That is not currently available but I will look into adding it as an option - it's a simple request so it should make it into ver 2.01.
EDIT: I've also noticed there is something wrong with the chat commands, they are not properly hiding the inventory window. This bug is also preventing hiding the window with the Esc key. I will get 2.01 published later tonight.

That is what the chat commands mentioned in the description above above are for. You can bind chat commands to a quickslot using the /shortcut command.
For instance, typing "/shortcut 12 /AltInventory toggle" will bind the window toggle command to the "=" key. Then whenever you press "=" the window will show or hide. If you aren't sure which number corresponds to the quickslot you want, just move whatever you have currently bound to "=" to another slot by dragging it with your mouse, enter the example command above, then drag the resulting quickslot command to the quickslot you want it in and finally drag the original item/command back to slot 12.

Thanks for the feedback. I will eventually get a EU client up and running, but until then, I do not have any way of debugging or supporting EU client issues. As far as the loading/saving data, there are a number of threads (and comments in this thread as well) regarding the available patches - I do not provide support for those patches, but they do appear to work for most users. Hopefully Turbine will be providing a permanent solution to this soon.
I will be stripping all displayed text out into a seperate file so that it can be more easily translated for localization. Once I have done that, translations can be posted as a "Feature Request" (the "Features" button on the right side of the Interface Information section above allows users to post feature requests).

Thanks for reporting that one. Line 1086 is schmegma left over from the old implementation that somehow evaded the delete key. You can either download version 2.00a or just manually delete line 1086:
sender.Row.QtyCol:SetText(sender:GetQuantity());
from Main.lua.

I'm installing this plugin on day 0 when Turbine adds the ability to pull data from the vaults. This will be indispensable for me at that time. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching.

Problem
I've got a problem loading AltInventory for a second char.
Loading it once has no problem, but every other char got "...ings Online\Plugins\GaranStuff\AltInventory\Main.lua:11 0" Unable to parse the file (could post the correct text cause LOTRO isnt online)
Deleting all the configuration files ("...AltInventorySettings.plugindata") and it was possible to load it once more. Whats wrong ?
(German Client)
*closed* http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info456-afixfortheparseerrorforeuropeanclients.html discribes a patch for this problem

LocalPlayer.Backpack inventory events are currently having issues. We have started a thread to make notice. If you notice that your plugin is having issues, please post to the Lotro thread: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...-Plugins-Issue
The more posts the faster the response.

Those are all symptoms of the problems with Events that were caused by the November update. Turbine is aware that there is a large problem, but any kind of an update is probably weeks away, at best. If you only use a single plugin some of those problems can (and will) be fixed, but if you use multiple plugins, the problem can not be solved without Turbine first fixing their event handling mechanism.
Version 2.0 will address as much of this as I can from a client perspective but won't be available for several weeks yet. Partly due to the holidays and other RL activities, partly due to design changes that are necessary to cope with the event handler issue.

You are not the first person to ask this, so I've added a large note to the plugin description explaining the limitations that Turbine currently imposes. Lua currently only has access to Bags. As soon as any other form of storage is accessible, it will surely be added.

Thank you for the response, and very nice add-on. Hopefully that's something on the LUA team's plate for the future
