Thanks for the comments.

I'm not sure whether you are asking for real-time sharing with another client or if you are asking for allowing you to see inventory across accounts.

The problem with seeing inventory across accounts is that with the way the file structures are set up, different accounts do not have access to the files saved by other accounts unless you are running an operating system that allows symbolic links for the folders so that they all point to the same location (some people have had good luck with this, particularly with Mac/Linux clients).

If you are asking about real-time sharing, that gets a ugly pretty quickly due to the fact that we have no way to programmatically share data between clients - the closest thing available currently is using chat messages which requires the user to press a button with an alias that sends one message per click (we can change the message contents, but the user still has to click for each one). Currently, sharing data between clients that are not on the same machine would require an external application and would not handle real-time updates very well.

Thanks again for this awesome piece of work

Ummm one more thing.. I've been using the notes panel.. you know to send hugs to my alts . and have noticed they don't save sometimes. I got around this by unloading and reloading to ensure their safe keeping, Wouldn't want to miss a hug. just wondering is a save button might work there.
I've changed the tooltips to only persist as long as you hover over the icons. In addition, I set the main icon tooltips to persist for a maximum of two seconds - unfortunately I can not use the max time technique on the recipe tooltip, but they also will only persist as long as you hover over the icon, so they should be much less annoying for you.

As to the Notes panel, I'll have to play with it some more, but I've been using it for tracking LI scrolls (before we had vault access) for my characters and never had a problem. A "Save" button would not be practical due to limitations on real-time data saving and is also unnecessary if it is working correctly. The only time that the data should fail to save would be if you have a client crash, but in that case, no plugin data would save. So, I'll do a bit more testing to see if I can replicate your issue.

The Item Icons in Vault and Shared Vault View Mode are perfect.
But In Bag View Mode the Icons are slightly cut off the Bottom of each row.
This is just purely aesthetics cause you can still see what they are. But hey i like perfection.

Thanks for the crafting info. There's bound to be others, especially if they were wrong in the lorebook . It's always helpful to have them reported.
EDIT: All three were typos and all will be fixed in 2.12

The incorrect Trait icon was confirmed and will be fixed in 2.12 (I've got to get around to locating all of those other trait icons...)

The icon discrepancy in the bag view is a carryover from the old panel view and is slowly being corrected. Basically, the item controls require 34 pixels but the icons are only 32 pixels and that causes the offset. I should have all of the offending code straightened out in version 2.12.
EDIT: Phew, what a headache. It turns out, fixing the offset in the Backpack view was easy, trying to fix it in the Vault and Shared Storage view drove me nuts until I realized there is a bug in the Turbine ItemControl which renders icons without a border when they are in the Vault/Shared Storage for some bizarre reason which kept causing a 2 pixel discrepancy. It is now sort of fixed. Until Turbine fixes their control at which point it will need to be tweaked again...

There are many types of tooltips. I'm not sure specifically which ones you would like to be able to turn off. I'll look into adding options to turn them off by tooltip type when I get around to adding the per character/per account settings.

I know there is a javascript snipit that you can include on your webpages to grab that info, but have no idea is an equivalent call that can be done via Lua.
(That snipit still works.)

There is no programmatic means of acquiring the item data code used to create popups and the plugin already has too much overhead to consider adding a database of all possible items. So, until Turbine expands the item info object with the ability to retrieve the item data code popups will only be available when you are actively interacting with a Vault-keeper at which time the actual items are available (for the current toon's vault or shared storage), but only for the type of storage you have actually interacted with (opening your vault does not make shared storage items accessible or vice-versa). The items stay available until you leave range of the Vault-keeper at which point the display automatically drops back to icon only mode.

A search window is already in the works. The item tracking function has recieved some seriously overdue attention so that item tracking will include backpack and vault storage per character and backpack, vault and shared storage for the "ALL Character" tracking. This should be re-enabled and fully functional in version 2.12. The item search screen will use much of the same code but in an interactive format allowing users to quickly locate all instances of an item on any character, either in backpack, vault or shared storage. I haven't completed the UI, but it will most likely be a separate window.

I am looking into the "All" Shared Storage, but so far I have not been able to replicate the issue you are having. Shared Storage appears correctly for me for the "All" selection once it has been accessed on any character (it has to be initialized by accessing Shared Storage at a Vault-keeper on any character first, note that accessing the Vault does not initialize Shared Storage).

Unfortunately there are some problems with lag when interacting with Vault-keepers that I am looking into fixing currently so it will be a while before ver 2.12 is released (there is some residual redundancy left over from the days when events weren't firing correctly, combined with the extra overhead of keeping track of the vault/shared storage).

By the way...

I've moved from simply finding Altinventory to be quite useful to being absolutely addicted to it!

I too am an altaholic -- with 2 accounts, but that is a separate issue. So keeping everybody in sync is always an issue. (I just "bought" a Rune of Winged Presence from the skirmish vendor because I couldn't find the one I thought I had... and did!)

A definite enhancement request...

The ability to search "all vaults" for an item, and display the vault and the toon who has them.

BTW, the "All" toon name does NOT include shared storage.

A possible enhancement? (or is it a bug?)

I just noticed -- when looking at another toon's Vault contents, none of the items generates a tool-tip.

The tool-tip does pop-up for the toon's own vault items.

This is a bit peculiar. The most likely culprit is another plugin conflicting with AltInventory by re-enabling the bags even though you have the "Replace Bags" option set to true. Are you running any plugins on your Warden that you do not run on your other characters? If so, then you will have to make sure that the AltInventory "Replace Bags" option is set to false or stop using whichever other plugin is conflicting or accept the odd behaviour.

You can verify this fairly easily. First, open AltInventory on your warden and check the options to see if "Replace Bags" is selected. If it is not, then there is some other problem. If Replace Bags is selected, then try unloading all plugins with "/plugins unload" and then manually loading ONLY AltInventory with "/plugins load AltInventory" and checking your bags. If AltInventory displays instead of your bags then the Replace Bags option is working correctly and the odd behaviour is the result of another plugin re-enabling the bags after AltInventory loads. If the odd behaviour (both the plugin and the bags displaying when you open the bags) continues then there is some other problem and we have to dig deeper.

Note, each character currently has their own settings so one character can use Replace Bags while others may not. This will change in a future update when users will be allowed to choose which settings are per character and which are per server or per account. That way you can turn some options on or off for all characters while maintaining other settings separately for each character.
I think I fixed it by resetting the plugin on my Warden, I think I had the UI toggled at some point and that confused the plugin. Just got my computer back in order and gonna test it out shortly.

Thanks for the feedback. I implemented icon locking for MoorMap over a year ago and thought I had carried that over to AltInventory but oviously not (I don't use the icon much, I toggle it off a quickslot). The icon will require you to hold the Ctrl key when dragging starting in ver 2.12
