i have to add that the quantity tracker is useful as well. i've been using primarily for reputaion items to watch for and using the limits inversely as the quantily reaches a threshold instead of falling below it. same difference nothing to change there. I also realize it's not a priority. just interesting what can be done with it. Wishlist would be a " /altinentory tracking toggle" to show and that window seperately from the main..

And as for the graphical view of the reputation panel.
how difficult would it be to have one of those Do nothing Sliders that you manually move to mimic the current position of each alts standings. HAHA
ok maybe another not so priority. I love this plugin. Your contributions are awesome. Thank you!!

Oh and Thank you for moving the tooltips away from the cursor on the main panel, nice touch.
Thanks for the comments. I plan on revisiting the quantity tracker, if not in the next release, then the one after. You should be aware that there are some significant bugs in the way the tracker handles data, especially for the "All" character tracker. Now that I changed the way that the bag inventory is stored I can fix those bugs. I like your idea of using the tracker in reverse to let you know when you have enough of an item to turn them in - Task Boards didn't exist when the tracker was first designed so I never considered it... egads, another entry for the ToDo list... a "component wallet" display...

The rep panel probably won't get revamped unless/until Turbine exposes the actual rep data. Mostly due to there being too many other things with higher priority on the ToDo list.

I moved the tooltip because it kept annoying me, then I found myself trying to actually click on it (it is clickable) only to see it "run away" from the mouse - I got a good chuckle out of that and decided to leave it that way. Glad you noticed it got moved, I wasn't sure if I was the only one annoyed by them popping up when I was trying to click the icon.

Yep. As I thought, when I built the zip file I somehow missed the newest version of main.lua. There's at least one missing line, but it seems that inventoryPanel.lua may have an issue as well.

Since this is a fairly major bug I will be publishing a hot fix in the next day or so (it takes me forever to get anything done on these laptops), until then you can temporarilly turn off the load minimized option.

Yeah, I totally misunderstood this until I saw how Alt Inventory was working. That's kind of disappointing...I interpretted the release notes as the data being available whenever you were within range of a vault keeper, not that you actually had to talk to them and open the regular panel first. Better than nothing, but pretty limiting.

EDIT: I just replicated this on a test machine. I need to do some more digging and see what I broke just prior to zipping and uploading
I probably accidentally swapped a backup copy and a dev copy of a file.

If you had already clicked the change icon button then it was responding to it's clicked event while it still had the prior character's information before being refreshed.

The tooltips are only available when the underlying items are actually available - that is, after interacting with the Vault-keeper for the specific panel you are viewing without having left the range of the Vault-keeper. Since we still can not programmatically retrieve an item's resource ID it is impossible to display the tooltip once the item is not available. The same holds true for equipped items since there is no way to retrieve the item resource ID. In the example you stated with Shared Storage, you may have interacted with the Vault-keeper to access your Vault, but that does not make Shared Storage items available, you have to actually open your shared storage at the Vault-keeper. I know it may not be intuitive, but that's the way Turbine implemented it - the Vault and Shared Storage items are not refreshed by viewing the other type of items. If Turbine ever implements a way to programatically retrieve an item's resource ID this discrepancy will be addressed. I'm hoping that the addition of the ItemInfo object is an indication that they are planning to expose more item info.

EDIT:Thumbs.db doesn't belong in the zipped file and can be ignored. It was included by accident when I had to publish from a different machine

In addition to what Lunarwater already stated, if you continue to get an error on that file it probably means that you browsed the folder at some time in the past which would have automatically created the file. Open the folder and change your view to anything other than Thumbnails, find the Thumbs.db file and delete it because it is only used for displaying the folder as thumbnails.

Sounds like you may have had a file explorer open and were looking at the images under alt inventories sub folders. First make sure you are not browsing any of the subfolders of Alt Inventory plugin. Then try.

There were actually five sets.

No big deal, figured it was just noise.

That other issue actually happened on all but two of my characters, though I couldn't see any pattern in the two it didn't happen on. Again, no big deal as there's a simple work-around.

Thanks for reporting that. Yes, those were debugging messages. I must have missed them when restoring the backup. Those all come from SharedStoragePanel.lua. Starting just after line 882 there will be four sets of debugging statements in the form:
Code:
Turbine.Shell.WriteLine("eventname");
Table.Dump(args);
you can comment them out or delete them - only the Turbine.Shell.WriteLine and Table.Dump lines. Just don't accidentally delete any of the " self:refreshStorage();" statements.

While they are slightly ugly, they are also harmless and do not impact the actual functioning so I won't be publishing a hotfix. I should have the update with the initial version of the search panel available later this week which will also remove those messages.

I can confirm that this happened to me on one of my characters with the Vault, and your work-around did fix it.

Ver 2.10

Version 2.10 has been uploaded and should be available shortly. This version has the long awaited update to handle Vault and Shared Storage. There is not yet a unified search of Bags, Vault and Shared Storage but that will be coming in the next update.

There is one minor glitch that I did not get a chance to track down - it is possible for the display to stay blank after accessing the Vault or Shared Storage for the first time on a character. It only occurred once for me but I'm fairly certain the bug still exists and may happen to others. Currently, you can get around this by simply clicking on any of the display layout buttons (the ones that change the layout between labels and icons). It should be a fairly easy bug to track down once I have a dev box up and running again.

There is a slightly longer load time (about three seconds for me) now that it has more data to process when loading but if you have it loaded automatically you will not notice this. It is currently supporting both the old format for the bag inventory as well as the new format just in case there are any bugs that I missed and that duplication accounts for some of the load delay and will go away in a future version.

I was able to run with the plug-in loaded quite a while on Bullroarer with no indication of problematic behaviour such as client crashes so we can keep our fingers crossed that this update (game client update that is) will be more stable than prior client updates. I did have one client crash shortly after the update was released to the live servers but I am attributing that to the imminent demise of my graphics card and power supply - I have not suffered any similar crashes on my other boxes in the day and a half of testing since but they are running (or crawling) with much lower graphics settings as they are severly outdated or laptops (in once case, both ).

It usually would, but at the point in the code where I am checking I am only interested in the size (which for anyone using AltInventory is almost never going to be legitimately 0) so I decided to stick with getting the size instead.

actually, no. They are initialized separately. If you visit the Vault-keeper and only open your Vault, the Shared Storage is not initialized and will still generate the bug when you actually access the Shared Storage and vice-versa. The events fire separately as well (which is expected once you know they are accessed and updated separately). I'm not sure why Turbine chose to initialize them separately other than the fact that there is a significant lag for some users and they may not have wanted to roughly double the lag for users that would only access one or the other.
