Aura with Runekeeper buffs
|
|
Aura
Version: 1.1.0
Date: 12/04/10
Aura is a Lotro plugin that displays player status effects in customizable windows. Aura utilizes white lists which allow users to display the particular effects that they find most useful or important for their class without additional clutter.
Usage:
-Show when a damage buff is up and how long until it expires
-Show when a nasty boss effect is on your character
-Remind you when your character is missing a stance
-Alert you when your character has a curable wound
To use the aura plugin, you create individual auras in your aura library, and then slot these in aura windows. By default, the library is loaded with example auras for all of the classes. These are meant as a starting point, and the default auras for the classes I don't play may not be as useful.
Changes
Added player even callbacks to deal with Nov patch
Option to have flashing buffs when close to expiring
Other bug fixes
Installation
Copy the FalstarPlugins folder to your "My Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/Plugins/" folder. Aura also requires the Turbine examples plugin and the DeusDictum DragBar 1.3 plugin, which are included in the zip file. Make sure all three plugins are copied to your Plugins directory.
Acknowledgements
Many thanks to Pengoros and Desudictum for their plugins BuffBars and DragBar. I used these as examples to learn from and borrowed UI elements from them

I don't suppose there's any way for a plugin to track the durations of buffs cast by the player on other characters? As a lore-master, one of my duties is to keep stun immunity on members of groups - mainly the healer and tank - and a plugin that helps me track of when I need to reapply the buff to party members would be invaluable.

Does this allow us to adjust what we see for everyone in our fellowship/raid?
Everyone's buffs/debuffs/effects are overlapping the next person's : P Prevents being able to see people's health/power - and I can't turn off any of the info, because as a Captain I need to see my buffs on others, and if they need fear cured or what not.

At the moment, Lua plugins can only access the player data, so I can't show auras for other party/raid members. As soon as Turbine allows access to that data, I intend to add that to the plugin. Also, this plugin doesn't change the normal display of the buffs. There's an in-game option to "show dispellable effects only," which helps you see who has a poison/fear/wound/disease on them.

Bug:
The timer disappears if you get a buff/debuff without timer for certain slot. For example this happens with ardent flurry. There is a workaround to track especially improved flurry. But then I have one slot tracking roots/stuns etc.
This is a problem especially at gorothul when he stuns the group while sauron speaks and that slot won't get timer anymore.
BTW. Is this plugin already abandoned or still under developtment?

Flashing Icon: Unfortunately I can't make the icon itself change opacity, but I'll try to add an option to make the background flash when close to expiring
No Timer Bug: To clarify, you have a slot set to display when you have a skill effect (ardent flurry), and then the aura matches some other effect (Gorothul stun) which has no timer. Afterward that slot will not display the timer correctly?
Also, this plugin will probably be broken with the Nov. 29 update. I'll try to get a fix for that out quickly and then another after that to address a couple of issues.

Flashing background is exactly what I meant.
I'll try to explain that timer thing better:
First case:
I have a slot that tracks stuns,roots,dazes
Timer works normally when there are timers on those debuffs.
Gorothul's entire fellowship stun (before the fight actually starts) is a 'permanent' stun without timer. This happens with some other bosses too.
When the fight starts and the stun gets removed the slot won't show timer for any other stun, daze, root etc...
Changing the slot to track something else and then changing it back to track stuns etc will fix it until a new timerless stun/root/daze.
Second case:
I had an another slot that tracked keyword 'flurry'.
If I turn on controlled burn I'll get ardent flurry buff which doesn't have a timer (It last as long you are in combat).
After controlled burn ends and I activate 30sec furry it won't show the timer anymore.
Workaround for this is to track keyword 'improved flurry' instead of 'flurry', which is the traited 30sec version of flurry. This prevents the ardent flurry from showing up on this slot and screwing up the timer.
I hope this helps.

Something helpful
Your addon is basically trying to recreate the extremely popular and useful Power Auras (a world of warcraft addon). There are a few hundred unlicensed images in their addon package and a lot of great ideas from years of development -- some of it may be useful to this one.
Thanks so much for working on this for LOTRO

I know its been awhile since this plugin has been touched, but I have gone back and fixed the unloading error that it currently has. Though I didn't really change anything (the code that was causing the error from what I can tell isn't needed), I thought it would be nice to have. It's uploaded as a patch that you can find up above.
Hopefully someone will take this plugin and make it work with fellowship buffs next...
