Everything I try either leads to efficient sort, but lost items or inefficient sort, but it aborts before finishing with a "Too busy" message.
I am completely at a loss with what to try here!

I am still using SortPack 8 but I occasionally have to reload the plugins using the Reload button on Plugin Manager to work around the bugs introduced with the latest Lua API update.

Yes, same here. I found that if you swap the items that dont get sorted with items that did and sort again it will sort them correctly.

check out the filterbag threads. The maker noted that it was a problem with the LUA and until devs fixed issues dissappearing items would be a problem. He also had issues with items being destroyed on sort.
That being said I'm waiting with bated breath for the day there is a sortable single bag inventory.

Error
I am currently getting this error when I try to load SortPack ... \Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\Main.lua:81: attempt to call field 'LocalPlayer'. Any help with this?

Re: Error
I want to apologise for missing these notes for the errors - for some odd reason my sub to this thread was lost and I didn't know these reports were here. ![Confused](//www.lotrointerface.com/images/style_mmoi_lotroi/smilies/confused.gif)

love this plugin. i'm pretty anal about my packs and so i'm always doing a /sort. problem is it sometimes stops short...it will leave 5 or 6 items in the last pack unsorted. if i reload all plugins and then run /sort again it will get those last few. no error messages...just says finished sorting in 6.39483948 seconds or whatever and that's it.
nice plugin!

I have noticed that as well - I cannot trace it either. A reloadui sorts it out. Must be a Turbine bug, because there is no way I can reproduce it.
Oh! And nice to see it is working again for someone! I have tested thoroughly and cannot reproduce the "Lost item" bug. But, I would be happier with even more testing!

been using it the last few days with no problems (other than the "stop short" problem i mentioned).
one request, would be sweet if you could add an icon...something semi-transparent that you can just click to sort so you don't have to do a /sort

I get this error when doing a /sort. The SortOptions command works fine, though. If I downgrade to version 8 the plugin won't even load. Any ideas? I use a skin, but even disabling it doesn't change anything.

Skins wouldn't make a difference to plugin operation.
Now, this is *Very* interesting! That line is;
Code:
WearState=item:GetWearState()
which isn't used by the plugin yet - it's there for future work - so it shouldn't trip out! I wonder what the item is...
Try opening Main.Lua and removing that line and see if it still breaks the plugin.

Removing the line just spits out another error.
...ings Online\Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\Main.lua:14 9: attempt to concatenate field '?' (a nil value)
Could it have anything to do with items from the lotro store, or locked items, or equipped cosmetics?

Could be... I have just uploaded a new version that attempts to address the bug you have found. Many thanks for your help thus far!

It seems others are using this addon successfully so the problem is probably on my end.
I have Lotro installed on my second hard drive (vista habit), but my plugins and UI and documents folder is on my primary OS drive. I use windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I don't know if this would interfere, but I felt it was worth mentioning in case that's the root of it all. I hope it isn't, though. :P
