name change
Looks like the name change from misc/trophy item has bonked the program. They are called task items now. That is how they appear in bank and according to the update notes also in the AH.

Yep, the update today seems to have introduced something that messed up this plugin. I know there were some LUA changes that happened, but I don't code plugins.
The plugin's awesome... just doesn't work at the moment.

Update 6 issues
not sure what was changed with task items but DT no longer sees them in the bag, I know the update came today so no rush but any plans to update it? I find this a very valuable tool to have as I dont need my printed lists on hand I can just use DT to scan and help out.

Translations
vxu: I don't know languages other than English, so I don't plan any translations.

I'm not sure if this answers your question but you can use "/dtw auto" to toggle if the plugin loads visible or not. I never wanted it to load visible and finally just found that in some old patch notes.

thx for the plugin, but a few questions / issues remain
1. packaging: apparently you cannot unpack the zip straight into "Plugins" directory, but need to put everything into a manually created subdirectory "MyPlugins"? (otherwise it fails to load. you also do reference in __init__.lua:
Code:
import "MyPlugins.Common.Type"
2. on a german lotro client loads fails:
Code:
.../AllCharacters/DailyTasks_Settings.plugindata:5: ']' expected near ','
when changing "," to "." this message disappears. problem with localization or did it fix it wrong? this is how my fix looks like:
Code:
[1.000000] = 0,000000,
3. after fixing 2. it still fails to load:
Code:
attempt to compare string with number
..ings Online\Plugins\MyPlugins\DailyTasks\DT_Main.lua:37:
Failed to import package "MyPlugins.DailyTasks.DT_Window".
not sure what is going on there as paths seem right and the file exists...
4. tasks / item names are not localized. playing with a german client this plugin is quite useless any plans to add translations?
i had it working once on another character on the same account. no clue why it stops now repeatedly on 3...

If others can tell too...

By the bye, this morning I came across two trophies not recognised by DailyTasks: Ridged Finger Bone and Glowing Essence, both dropped by Wight Dread-Warriors in Nan Tornaeth.
|
Only a fraction of the trophies dropped in the game have tasks associated with them. If DT doesn't recognize a trophy then it is probably just vendor trash.
Let me know if you ever find an unrecognized trophy that is listed on a task board. (Note: There are some trophies with duplicate names but different IDs).

It means that they are also usable by the first one... check the level range on the item.

I see - the level range it was displaying to the lower-level toon was too low for the higher one, but I guess there might be other task boards where the HL could turn them in at a higher level range. Thanks for clearing that up

Love love love this plugin, it's made my life so much easier! Thank you!
I have one question - I've just tried it using a second character (it worked perfectly on the first one), and /dtu is now showing me the list of items usable by the current toon but with the name of the first toon in green brackets after each one. What does this mean? At first I thought it was telling me those items were usable by that toon, but they're not - they're definitely for the current one.

This is a great plugin. I recommend it to everyone I know.
The location list is now too long and gets truncated in lower resolutions. Can you add a scrollbar or split it into two columns?
|
Yes, I was just thinking about this the other day. Its on my to-do list.

Re: Keep window from opening on load?
Quote:
I almost always use the shell commands so I would like to know if there is an option or means of not opening the window when loading the plugin. Thank you.
|
Yes, the readme file documents the option to not open the window.
