Update delay

The servers are finally up with the new release, but I've got a lot of work to do. Not only is there a new zone with 6 new stable locations, but all the Shire locations have also been revised and swift travel routes have been added, fully connecting everything. So I have well over 100 routes to add and get travel times on. This will take some time.

Exclamation Version 2.28

This is a major update with significant changes. The biggest change is adding support for travel to houses and using homestead stable-managers in finding the best route. To support this, I've added a House Travel window to configure which of the 4 Travel to House abilities to use and to set the time it takes to travel from the selected house to the stable manager. This is configured for each character as they can be in different guilds or no guild.

I've also implemented the new common help facility with more detailed in-game help for plugin commands. Use of the Escape key now closes any plugin windows.

Finally, I've made numerous minor code improvements, fixed a few bugs and typos, and cleaned up the handling of recruiter stable master locations. In cases like Bree where they aren't near a regular stable, the location has been added with an "(R)" suffix.

Instant travel locations

I've been pondering about adding support for "instant travel" objects. These are usually displayed as a labeled horse or banner that when used will immediately take you to a destination at no cost. Some have restrictions on use.

I'd like some suggestions of how you'd like to have these appear in this plugin. If I receive an inspirational idea, it will be implemented sooner instead of later.

Exclamation Version 2.27 (Lotro update 32)

This is a major change to Trollshaws locations that adds 6 new stable locations and fully connects the existing locations. There are so many new connections to time that I've posted this update with placeholder times for several of the slow travel routes so that you can at least get all the new switch travel connections (I've used 999 sec=16:39 as a placeholder). I'll do another update when I finally get them all done.

There is also a new Return/Guide/Must to Tornhad skill that can be earned with reputation.

Lotro update 32

This was a major change to the Trollshaws region, adding 6 new stable locations and fully connecting the prior ones that only had minimal routes before, i.e., well over 100 new routes to add and do travel timing for. It also added a new Return/Guide/Muster location, so it will take me a couple more days to get it ready to release.

Here is a test to try. I would expect that you have the Guide to Bree skill and have Bree enabled in the "Guide to" window. If you set West Bree as your desired destination and then click on Set End, the Guide to Bree icon should appear in the icon slot. Clicking on it should activate the skill.

If you change the destination to Adso's Camp, after clicking Set End, the icon slot should clear, indicating no direct travel skill, but clicking Find Best Start should again display the skill for Bree and in the chat window add the step "West Bree -> Adso's Camp".

Does it work that way for you?

Ok now I see how to use it. I was Setting Start to whatever I wanted (normally the zone I was standing in), then selecting new Zone/Location and going right to Find Route, I expected it to give me choices based on what Guides I owned, thanks for clarifying that for me! I use your plugin daily it, and your others are all awesome!

I found a significant logic error in the Find Best Start calculations that has been producing poor results in certain situations. I still plan to make some minor tweaks, but this fix should stop illogical results. Everyone should install this update.

I also added a check to make sure there was an options file, which could cause an error if missing.

Finally, I added a small enhancement; when using the "/trf" command to find a stable location, if only one match is found, it will automatically set that location as the currently selected stable location. This should speed up the process of finding the desired travel skill.

It looks like it doesn't check if there is an options file yet. I've added code to fix this and you can force its creation by setting the Auto-load option.

Hunter Guide Locations are not considered

I don't know if I am setting this up wrong, but I have entered checks in all the Guide locations I can use and the plugin does not seem to consider them.

attempt to index global 'TR_Opt' (a nil value)

Hello,
it seems the new Set-End option is only partially implemented.
when i tried to load the plugin i get the above error in a couple of places
TR_Main.lua:345
TR_Window.lua:347
these can be fixed by changing the line to read:

when trying to set the option thru the option panel i get one more error in
TR_Main.lua:345, here it seems that TR_Opt is never filled.

- pressing the Escape key will now close all Travel Ref windows.
- added an Option (Plugin Manager Options tab) to default to Set End.
- corrected Writhendowns to Scylfig in Harwick destinations.

This updates the slow travel times for broken routes in Gundabad. There are still a few that are broken in one direction, but I assume that they will be similar to travel times in the reverse direction.

After several hours of timing the tediously slow routes between all the Gundabad stables, I've finally completed this except for a few routes that are broken. The broken routes will hang while trying to ride through an obstacle in the route. I expect that they will be fixed in a future Lotro patch.
