I looked for but didn't find the new travel skill "Return to Lalia's market" in the latest update. You can purchase it for 3 Mithril coins at the dye vendor in Lalia's market in Bree.
Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't looked at Lalia's market, so I'll check it out and add the new skill.

There may also be a new "Return to" for Wildermore, but I haven't got the new quest pack yet, so I may be missing that too.

Exclamation Version 2.7 - Update 11

This version adds the 5 new location in Wildermore that were added with Update 11. I've got all the travel times, but there is something odd about the travel discounts. At 3 of the stables, some of my alts are already getting a discount without having any People of Wildermore rep. So the pricing displayed may not match what you get until I figure it out.

PS. If you can help identify the discounts, please post what you have found.

Update 11

I've added the new locations in Update 11, but I'm still working on the travel times. I should have it ready for release tomorrow.

Exclamation Version 2.6.2

This is a minor update. It corrects the map location for Mithechad and changes the menu button style to look like the standard Lotro ones. This should make them easy to distinguish from action buttons.

Version 2.6

This is a significant update that all users should upgrade to. I've also added two new documents that explain in detail about setting travel requirements and using the Find Route features. These should make it easier to get the full benefit of the plugin's features.

I've corrected the Moria locations where requirements were removed and taken them out of the Requirements window. For people that have never been subscribers, the Swift Travel restrictions had only been set for the starting areas amd the requirement checkbox setting wasn't being retained. I've fixed the checkbox and changed the flag implementation so that all location should handle this properly.

I added a "/tr rt" command to list "Return to" skills that haven't been learned with a mouse-over showing the requirements for learning the skill (Ost Guruth is a special case). This should make it easier to find new travel skills.

The biggest change is the addition of Manual Travel routes. These are stable connections that you have to ride on your own horse, but are important to link different regions together so that route finding is more effective. Without these routes, Moria locations are isolated from other zones until level 65 when it can be accessed from Galtrev. Manual Travel routes show up in routing lists with the (MT) flag. This also allows the two sides of Bree to be connected for routing for users that haven't subscribed.

PS. I'm planning on revising the appearance of drop-down menus now that Update 10 changed the way buttons look, but I didn't want to hold up this release until the menu change is ready.

The reason I use the same location settings menus is both to save space and code, but I can see how it could be confusing. I'll have a look at revising the docs with a more detailed walk-thru on using the settings.

Did the README file not give an adequate explanation?
With hindsight, the README should have been explained enough to use the plugin. I was probably just confused because "Find route" did not work in Moria. By the time I figured out why it didn't work I had read enough of your code to understand how the plugin works in general.

I think most confusing was that you use first set the start/end destination and then use the same controls to select the complementing one. All routing applications that I know (e.g. Google Maps) provide separate controls for start and end of a route.
If you don't mind, I'll put together an alternative UI that hopefully is a bit easier to use. I have some ideas, but it is easier to just implement them than to describe them.

Exclamation Version 2.5.5

This is a minor, but important update to fix a couple of defects reported by Thenedus.

Thanks for reporting the defects, the error message was a leftover that I'd forgotten to remove. I'll be fixing these in an update soon.

Two small issues

Thank you for a very helpful addon, although I had a hard time figuring out how to use it. Good thing the source is available

While using it in Moria, I spotted two issues:
  • "Find route" gives an error "Moria locations lack travel times for routing". Since I could not find any missing times in the data for Moria and the code looks as if it would even work without travel times, I just removed this check. No issues so far.
  • In the Region hash (TR_Data.lua), Rhovanion is mispelled. This causes the "Find nearest stable" functionality to fail in Moria. Just replace "t" with "i"

Procedural question (to determine what I'm doing wrong):
First, you can set TR to auto-open on load so the window is automatically displayed. Then make sure you have configured TR for your character (this takes a little time to set up, but can make a huge difference in route selection). This requires marking achievements in the Requirements window "/trw req" and then adding return skills in the Return window "/trw rt". If you are a hunter or warden, add your class travel skills in the final window "/trw gm". Lastly, for each milestone you have, select the nearest stable and use the Set milestone button.

After you have all this configured, you can then find the best way to get to a location with these steps:
- set your destination stable and do a Set End. If you have an action to get there directly, the action icon will be displayed and you just click on it.
- click on the Find Nearest button to set your starting point.
- click on the Find Best Start button to get your best route.
In many cases the best route will include a travel skill and the icon for this will be displayed; so click on the icon and then follow the rest of the route.

If you still get the level error, I'll need all the details of where you were trying to travel from and to as well as your level. In some cases I may also need your requirement settings. It goes without saying that you should be running the latest version of TR.

Any other particular plugins of yours that you would recommend going for next?
This page lists all my plugins: http://www.lotrointerface.com/list.php?skinnerid=3743
The download counts gives some indication of popularity, but I'd recommend trying them all and seeing what you find useful.

The easiest way to try out my plugins is with Plugin Compendium: http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info663
You just select the plugins you want and click Add and it does the d/l and install for you.

If you use my plugins, I'd recommend you set Vinny Loader to auto-load and my plugins to auto-open on load. Then when you want to use one, you just click on the icon for it in the lower-left corner and it pops open.

Procedural question (to determine what I'm doing wrong):

I want to set something as an ending location and then find the nearest stable to my present location and find a travel route. It gives me a bad result. Here's an example:

1) I type '/tr <coordinates, coordinates> to get the message 'The nearest stable to <coordinates, coordinates> is <stable> @ <coordinates, coordinates> (x units away).' This also opens the GUI with <stable> already populated.

2) I click on SET START to change it to SET END and it tells me that my ending location is now set to <stable>.

3) I then click on FIND NEAREST STABLE and set the new stable as starting point.

4) I click FIND ROUTE and it tells me 'invalid level'.

What's the proper way to find the route that I'm looking for?
