Hey again.
I think you are right about Azanulbizar beeing special, because I just checked out the map for Iron Hills in Dale Lands where I created lot of missing annotations. They are still there
I thought I would inform you that this: When you open a new chest, a large button will display for "Mark
Is working just fine in Mattugard/Gundabad where I am doing quests right now.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll have to look into it. Azanulbizar requires special treatment because it is not in the regular regions but a special region (14) and one of the coordinate functions may not be properly accounting for this.

EDIT: A quick glance at the data file shows only 9 default annotations so something went wrong, probably an issue when maintaining the annotations due to their special region - this is not just treasure caches that are missing

Heya, I like this, but how about Dwarfmarkers and Lost Lore?
Are you considering to do this too?

I have considered it (I indicated that in one of the threads when I first mentioned chest tracking but I'm not sure which). Basically, it is a lot of work so I want to be sure it is a feature that people will actually use before I spend time expanding it.
I just noticed that Lost Lore are numbered, also in questlog, which means should be fine to track through quest log.

Dwarfmarkers are not numbered though.
Think it would be nice to be able to mark those on map as well.

The button should show up on your screen automatically. I have found a few cases where the distance used to limit the feature from accidentally marking an invalid chest is not sufficient and no chest is found - this may be because the chest location in my database may be off slightly. The next version will expand that distance to account for this. Until then, you may have to open the map and click the chest manually.
Thank you, I will continue doing it manually until then

Ver 1.50

Ver 1.50 is now available

This version focused mainly on fixing the many missing string translations for the DE/FR clients. Unfortunately, there are a few that I still need to work on, notably the resource node names for tier 12 (vales and ironfold) as well as a few interior/instanced map names. These take quite a while to track down, particularly the rich nodes since I have to come across one while running the DE or FR client - sometimes I get lucky and can log in a second character in a separate session but that only works if I can summon them to the first character otherwise, by the time I swap clients the nodes often despawn. The remaining instances are mostly quest related and can only be entered if you have the correct quest so it is a matter of finding an alt that is at the appropriate point in the game.

The one new feature is Treasure Cache tracking. For far too long, people have been wishing there was an easy way to know which treasure caches they located. Now, when you find a treasure cache or rare chest, a popup button will appear asking you to "Mark Chest Found". If you click the button without moving away from the chest location, the plugin will be able to compare your location to all known chests and mark the one matching your location. From then on, MoorMap will display a green checkmark over the chest for that character (each character has to find chests separately). For those that have already found chests, you will have to determine which ones you already found (by remembering the location or revisiting the location and seeing the chest without the glowy outline). You can then click on the chest annotation in MoorMap and there will be a "Mark" button at the bottom right of the pop-up description. If you accidentally mark the wrong chest, you can simply click the annotation again and this time the button will say "Clear" and will remove the mark. If you would like to know which characters on the current account have marked a specific chest, the pop-up description window has a list of all characters that have marked the chest.

Note: There is a known issue with clicking on the annotations, if you click too close to the border of the annotation, the "Mark" and "Clear" buttons do not appear. I will fix this in a future update. For now, just close the pop-up and click closer to the center of the annotation.

This should make it much easier to determine which chests you still need to visit in the future.

This version also includes the somewhat belated Yondershire map, a few bug fixes, and a few more interior/instanced maps.

Moving forward, I should also be able to better determine the "correct" interior/instanced map when two interior maps have very close or overlapping coordinates.

I can't seem to get the red flag to move (and stay put). Is there a trick I'm missing?

You have to hold either the Alt or the Shift key to drag the quick annotation tool icon. Be sure to hold the key before pressing the mouse - it works best if you start with the mouse off the icon, press and hold the Alt (or Shift), move the mouse over the icon (the border should look like a faint dotted line), continue holding the Alt key while pressing the mouse and dragging the icon to the location you want.

If you still have trouble, you can always set the icon position using the options dialog. Open MoorMap, click the gears button at top left. Scroll down to the settings for Quick Annotation Control and enter your desired coordinates for the top left of the icon. You can also control the opacity of the icon. Don't forget to click "Save".

Ver 1.50 delay

For those who may be wondering what ever happened to the U33 update to MoorMap - it hasn't been forgotten or abandonned, but rather delayed due to several factors.

First, real life. RL has a way of rearing its ugly head at the worst possible times.

Second, translations. I have been very remiss in updating the FR and DE translations and now have several hundred strings that are in need of exacting translation (many have to be exact matches to what is displayed in the client due to matching against chat messages, etc.). Mostly, this is not difficult, just time consuming.

Third, feature creep. Yes, there will be a new feature available with 1.50 - vastly improved tracking of Treasure Caches and Rare Chests (yes, Babble, you inspired me to finally tackle this, so YOU are to blame for the delay ). When you find a TC or RC, a button will be displayed for marking the location. If you press the button (hopefully immediately), then MoorMap will be able to compare your current location to all known TC/RC locations and if one is found within a reasonable distance (<=.1 in NS/EW direction) then all occurances of that chest on any map will be automatically marked with a check mark in MoorMap. So, if you find a chest buried deep inside an interior instance it will be marked in the instance as well as on the parchment map that contains the instance. This should vastly improve the ability to know which chests you have visited. For those that have already visited many chests, you will need to mark them off manually by simply clicking on their annotation in MoorMap and in the description pop-up dialog click the "Mark" button (or if you accidentally marked the wrong chest, click the "Clear" button). If this mechanism is well received and found to be as helpful as I suspect it will, then it will be expanded to include Lore pages as well at some time in the future.

So, when will 1.50 finally be published? Well, I still have quite a few translations to do but, barring any further interruptions, probably a week or so.
