The fact that you say the loader did not work for any plugins makes me think there is something seriously wrong on your client and not just with your installation of MoorMap. Send me a private message here and we can arrange to dig into this in depth, preferably using voice chat in game. I have limited play capability at this time, but as long as I'm in a relatively unpopulated area (in game) my laptop will allow me to use voice chat and we should be able to get to the bottom of this.

This is typically due to setting the "helper" plugins to automatically load (in your case it sounds like "MoorMapLoader" may be set to autoload). From the usage instructions above:
Quote:
NOTE: If using a plugin manager to load "MoorMap", do NOT load "MoorMapDefaults", "MoorMapLoader" or "MoorMapTerminator". They are launched by the plugin itself as needed and loading them automatically will cause undesirable things to happen.
If one of the other plugins is autoloaded, it can create a condition where the plugin is incorrectly flagged as needing reloading. Again and again and again... you get the picture. You can fix this by making sure you are NOT auto loading ANY of the MoorMap plugins, either via Turbine's Plugin Manager or any third party plugin manager, then use "/plugins unload", then "/plugins refresh" and finally "/plugins load moormap" (or exit the client and reload the client and just run "/plugins load moormap"). Once the condition is cleared, you can then set the MoorMap plugin to autoload via the Turbine Plugin Manager but be sure NOT to enable MoorMapDefaults, MoorMapLoader or MoorMapTerminator.

Please let me know if this resolves your problem.

Question Moor Map constantly reloads

Hi, this is the first time I've tried using your addon and I'm new to lotro too, but using the the loader in game or the plugin compendium or the command line /plugins load moormap all produce the same result.

I can't see any ore/wood nodes on any of the map, whether I manually select them on the filter panel or select all.

Love the map, though. Thanks.
The Default Map should work by selecting a map and then clicking the "Save" button on the bottom left. I believe that ver 1.17 does not have any "feedback" when the settings are saved which will be addressed in 1.18. Have you checked the chat window and made sure there is no error being displayed? The chat tab must have the "Standard" channel selected in its filters to display messages and the "Error" channel for errors.
Note, the Default Map setting is only for when you log in your character and the plugin loads. Closing the Map window and reopening it with the icon will simply display the most recently viewed map. If you manually unload and reload the plugin, the Default map setting will also be used. Ver 1.18 will have a "Most Recent" option for Default map.

The ore/wood nodes are those that you add yourself as annotations. Some people have added hundreds of nodes so differentiating them in areas that have more than one node type became necessary, thus the filter option. Note, the filter option for "tier" only goes to 6 in ver 1.17, it will go higher with ver 1.18 which should be available shortly after RoR releases.

<edit> Oh - and is there a way to bind this to the default map key (M) ?

Thanks for the feedback.

The Annotation tool icon can be moved but because of the shortcut you have to grap the top edge of the icon. If you are seeing the shortcut contents then you started dragging to far into the icon, try grapping higher up.

Neither icon is locking properly in ver 1.17 (they should only move when holding the Ctrl key). This will be fixed in ver 1.18 (unless another machine crashes and I lose that section of code yet again ). I will also probably make some changes to make moving the Annotation icon a little bit easier although it will mean that the clickable area of the icon will be a little smaller.

I've finally got parts on order for my game/test box so ver 1.18 will probably get released shortly after RoR goes live.

Glad to hear you got it working. I suspect that you had accidentally set one or more of the support plugins to load automatically as this will cause symptoms similar to what you posted. The usage instructions above and plugin descriptions in the Turbine Plugin Manager all explain that the support plugins should not be set to load automatically. Hopefully you are able to see all of the default annotations (loading the support plugins before the defaults are processed can lead to a situation where the main plugin is flagged as having already processed the defaults). If you are not seeing the default annotations, you can always click on the Add/Edit Annotation button (top left corner next to the Options button) and then in the "Custom Annotations Maintenance" window, click the "Reload Defauts" button to force the plugin to reprocess the default annotations. Reprocessing defaults will not harm any custom annotations you have created, it will only affect the default annotations.

Easy alaising for moor map.

It took me some time to figure out how to make an alias to mark my target location properly. So i thought i would post a easy to follow guide for those who don't want to spend an hour figureing out alias's just to make marks on Moor map.

Copy and past each line here in order into the LOTRO client chat box.
i.e CTRL + C here, alt tab to LOTRO and hit enter 1 time then CTRL+ V.

First, setting up the alias's
Code:
/alias ;moormap /moormap toggle
Second, Pick one of these for your language.
Code:
EN:
/alias ;mark /MoorMap add ;loc:5::;target
FR:
/alias ;marquer /MoorMap add ;loc:5:FR:;cible
DE:
/alias ;markieren /MoorMap add ;pos:5:DE:;ziel
Third, Move what ever you have in your main quickslot position 1 . You can put it back later. This command will overwrite it. This one will annotate moor map with your targets name and current location
Code:
/alias shortcut ;mark 1
Move this to another slot where you want it.

Fourth If you want a moor map toggle.
Code:
/alias shortcut ;moormap 1
Now move this where you want it.

Don't forget to put your old quickslot 1 back . Your done.

Thanks for the feedback.

The flag icon is used to quickly add custom annotations to the parchment maps. Since you were in the Auction Hall when you clicked it, there are no proper world coordinates so you get the error message.

The F12 issue should be fairly easy to fix. I've given up on Turbine providing us with the ability to test the UI status which is the right way to fix this so I've started using a similar mechanism to what other others use which requires us to assume the UI is visible upon initial load (which, although it is the wrong way, is still a good probability now that we can autoload plugins). When I get a chance to dig into that I'll check on the other icon visibility issues.

EDIT: When you used "/moormap show" that forced the map window open. Since the minimized button only shows when the map is closed, that is why you still did not see the minimized button. The minimized button would have redisplayed when the map was closed. This is WAI. The bug is the behaviour that occurred when returning from the HUD off state - either the map or the icon should have been showing without having to issue the "/moormap show" command.

The issue with the "Save" and "Cancel" buttons is a carry over from when the options window was (very briefly) included in the Turbine Plugin Manager options panel. I removed the options from the Turbine Plugin Manager due to numerous issues with the Plugin Manager panel, including one bug that would crash the client. Unfortunately I didn't get around to restoring all of the proper behaviour to the stand alone window until after the last version was published. This should be resolved with the next release (probably shortly after RoR).

It sounds as though you have positioned the Quick Annotation icon at the same location as the MoorMap icon which would explain the overlapping and why whichever one is displayed most recently is accessible and the other is hidden. That would explain why you don't normally see the Quick Annotation icon and why you couldn't access the MoorMap icon once the Quick Annotation icon was on top. I don't recall if I had implemented icon locking with the latest published version, but either way, you can move the icons by holding Ctrl and dragging the top edge of the icon so that they are not overlapped. By default, the icons are initially side by side in the bottom left corner of the screen (you can delete the "MoorMapSettings.plugindata" in the "PluginData\accountname\AllServers" folder to reset to defaults).
