Ver 1.17

Version 1.17 is just a minor update
I got tired of waiting for Turbine to produce a Tal Mathedras map so I added two versions of the Tal Mathedras map (Before and After have distinct data points). Now that there is a really ugly map available Turbine will hopefully be motivated to actually publish their art version (there was one briefly available on Bullroarer but it disappeared, probably due to versioning issues with the icons).
I also added the Hidden Burrow in the Great River area and a few location corrections.
I updated the Great River and Stangard map backgrounds to use the latest Turbine background - I haven't located the resource IDs yet so these are still just screencaps but they are a bit better than the ones from Bullroarer.
I finally got around to changing the Iron Pit map from the compass capture version I had created to the Turbine art version.

Thank you for your help! I forgot that I had once tried to setup an alias. I can't even remember what I was trying to do but it must not of worked how I wanted it to. Clearing my alias list solved the issue. Thank you once again!

I'm not really sure what happened to hang your client. I tried opening and closing the options, changing options, saving, etc. many times without a hang.
EDIT: I may have replicated your hang, there is definately an issue with unloading and reloading with the Turbine Manager open.

As to the default map, that setting only affects which map is initially shown when the plugin is loaded so minimizing the plugin and then restoring it (which is all the icon does) will not change to the default map.

The options window used to automatically close after a Save or Cancel but I must have removed that when the dialog was moved to the "Turbine Manager" (it was brought back last release but I must not have reinstated the buttons correctly). There should have been a popup that would indicate that the options were saved and that most likely was also removed and not reinstated. I got sidetracked while implementing the new Plugins:ShowOptions() method and never got back to it. It should be fixed in the next release.

It looks to me as if you at one time tried to create an alias for adding annotations. i.e. you used the "/alias" command to create an alias, something like "/alias ; /MoorMap add Eriador: 1 Threshold Street
Home of Damlyn: 16.1S, 106.3W:5::;target " without specifying an acual alias name (using just the semi-colon).

To see your assigned aliases, use "/alias list"
You should see an entry like:
alias [;] == [/MoorMap add Eriador: 1 Threshold Street
Home of Damlyn: 16.1S, 106.3W:5::;target]
If you see a user defined alias that includes anything to do with Moormap, clear it and your problem should go away.
If you are unsure of how to clear the alias, use "/help alias" or just clear all of your aliases using "/alias clear"

Please let me know if that solves the problem.

I'm having an issue that no one I've asked can seem to figure out.

You seem to have somehow incorrectly extracted the plugin files. Did you manually download the zip file or did you use LoTRO Plugin Compendium to install it? Is this a first time installation or did you have the plugin running previously? Did you extract the contents of the zip file to your "...documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins" folder, retaining the folder structure in the zip file? You should have a folder structure that looks like:

   \GaranStuff
      \MoorMap
         \Resources
with the .plugin and .plugincompendium files in the GaranStuff folder, the .lua files in the MoorMap folder and image files in the Resources folder.

I would recommend using the LoTRO Plugin Compendium application to install/manage plugins as it takes care of unzipping the files to the correct locations, etc.

Issue loading MoorMap

When I try to load MoorMap I get this error:

And the plugin does not load. How can I resolve this?

Thanks for the feedback.

Unfortunately, you'll notice that when MoorMap is displayed, nothing, not even other plugins will display in front of it. This is because of a bug in the SetStretchMode method that allows the map to be resizable. Basically, any window using the stretch mode will ignore ZOrder and draw top most (it gets really ugly when two or more windows both use stretchmode because they overwrite each other in undesirable ways). Anyway, if I separate the filter and search lists they would get hidden behind the map for anyone that doesn't have a screen large enough to display them alongside the map. So, until Turbine fixes the SetStretchMode bug, I am left with the compromise of keeping them as child windows of the map

Thanks for pointing out that the top edge was difficult to grab. The entire upper border was supposed to be selectable but the control container was accidentally catching the mouse events which limited it to only the top 4 pixels. I never noticed this since I usually play with the map full size.

The mouse events are now passing through correctly and I've increased the height of the area to grab as well so the map will be much easier to move in ver 1.16 (I have no expected release date for 1.16 yet, probably a couple of weeks).

From the plugin description above:

Just grab the top edge with the mouse (hold down the left mouse button) and drag them whereever you want.

Is it possible to relocate the MoorMap buttons for hiding/showing the map and adding an annotation? In the bottom left corner, they cover up my chat output channel setting.

it would be cool if the map icon /filter list would be separate windows such that you could view the map and the 2 lists in parallel...

it IS quite hard to find the right spot to move the moormap window. i would suggest to extend the area which accepts the move command, e.g. use the whole top left corner 30x30 pixels, move all icons/buttons 15 pixels to the right. maybe even an extra "move"-button showing arrows in all directions just doing nothing but allowing move. as the cursor does not change on edges or when allowing move you never know if your desired action will work or not.
