That is a question which only Turbine can answer Turbine does not currently expose any location information to the Lua interface, nor does it expose any fellowship information - not even names - to the Lua interface. The best you can do is post this as a request on the LoTRO forums in the http://forums.lotro.com/forumdisplay...amp-Discussion thread. I would love to be able to show Character, Fellowship/Raid member, Target, and Tracked Target locations, but most of those will most likely never be exposed to Lua.

Thank you both for reporting this. I appologize for my QA staff not catching that one, that's what I get for hiring Goblins. They have been suitably punished and Grodris is no longer hungry...
This particular problem has already been fixed but in testing the fix, I have found another bug which is proving harder to erradicate. I will get a hotfix up as soon as I can get this resolved and tested.
EDIT: The additional bug turns out not to be a bug, I was just too tired to realize what I was doing wrong The hotfix should be available shortly.

Map selection drop down positioning bug
I just realized that I accidentally incorporated a bug in the map selection list back in version 1.06. Interior map names are hidden in the selection list until you hover over their parent map. Because of the hidden names, the selection list was not properly retaining the correct position when selecting maps that had any hidden maps above them in the list, making it necessary to scroll back up the list to get to the currently selected map.
No hotfix will be released for this bug since it is fairly low priority - it only affects the scrolled position of the list, not the actual selection. The bug is already fixed for version 1.09 which will be released in a week or two.

Well, you didn't do anything "wrong" other than to stumble on the "Annotation Type" bug previously reported by Mulano . This was introduced in 1.07 as a sideeffect of coloring the NPC icons and can occur if you try to change the annotation type on certain custom annotations. The bug has already been fixed in version 1.08 which will be available Soon™ (as defined by Sapience...).
EDIT: version 1.08 is now available

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Problem
Yeah, that looks exactly like the resolution change bug that will be fixed in 1.08.
As a workaround, you can drag the bottom right corner of the map and resize it smaller. Then unload MoorMap using "/plugins unload MoorMap" and reload it using "/Plugins load MoorMap" and it will reposition to so that you can get at the controls on the top. The map will retain the smaller size unless you resize it - just be sure not to drag it to a larger size if you switch monitors or resolutions until version 1.08 is released.

Hello again,
the problem is, I can't see the buttons on top, the map is to large to fit the screen. And... yes, it is a video projector with 1280x720. After today's server-shutdown I make a screenshot.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. It appears that you used a translator like google to translate and "beamer" might have translated incorrectly for "video projector" or something similar.
MoorMap should run just fine in 1280x720, I use that resolution on my laptop just fine. Since the map is scalable based on your display size it should work in any resolution. Can you be more specific about your problem? What happens when you try to load the plugin? Are you able to run any other plugins?
|
|
Thanks for the clarification.
Do you use the Video Projector all of the time or do you start the game on a monitor and then switch to the Video Projector? If you are switching displays, this problem may be fixed in version 1.08 as it may be the same resizing issue that people have when switching betweem Full Screen and Windowed mode.
If you always use the Video Projector, are you using the Video Projector as a dual monitor or is it your only display? Is the computer connected to the projector a laptop?

Not at this time. We do not have access to the player's location via Lua which is the same reason that I can not show a pointer on the map with the character's current position.
EDIT: I have added a "Default Map" setting to the Options panel so that you can at least choose which map it opens to by default. It's not a great solution but it's better than no control at all.
I have been working on the ability for the user to click a button to identify their current location, the problem is that most of the maps overlap slightly and the overlap is not always contiguously horizontal or vertical (for instance the border between Eregion and Enedwaith is a jagged diagonal in steps that are in .8 map units) and "areas" can span maps as well so the area name does not uniquely determine the current map making a programatic solution undependable. I suspect that Turbine stores the map id per .8x.8 square area, which is what allows for the diagonal boundaries. I haven't had enough time to fully explore the lengths of enough boundaries to determine the functions and whether they are linear or allow for curvature.
EDIT: After further exploring several boundaries, I confirmed that the map id must be stored per .8x.8 square and the border is not linear, it can take any contiguous shape which makes the definition quite problematic.
