Don't feel bad, it actually sounds like I may have broken something in the initial settings - it should have been in the bottom left by default but I may have accidentally changed that to 0, 0 at some point. Anyway, glad you found it.

Hi,

If the icon does not appear where you expect it, you can always set its position in the Options dialog. Load MoorMap and open the map. Click the gear icon on the top left of the map. On the Options dialog, scroll down to the Icon section. There are text fields for the Left and Top settings. Set them to a known location, I recommend 0, 0 since that will put the icon in the top left corner of your screen. Make sure the "Show Icon when Minimized" box is checked. Click Save and close the map. The icon should now show at the location you entered. Once you find it, you can move it where you want by pressing and holding the Alt key while dragging the icon.

Hi,

This is due to a limitation of the LotRO Lua API. Player location isn't directly exposed to Lua so the plugin needs the user to click the position button on the top of the plugin or use the chat "/loc" command in order to determine/update your location.

Hi,
Unfortunately, location information is not exposed to Lua so things that have random spawns like crafting nodes are not included in the default data (default data has to be collected manually and published with the plugin). For those that want to track the nodes that they have found (the location tracked is only one of many potential spawns for a specific node and may spawn other types of nodes) they can use the "Quick Annotation Tool" - the button that looks like a Point of Interest flag icon.

When you click the tool, it will try to add an annotation at your current location (the node's location is not available so stand as close to it as you reasonably can) based on your current target. If your target is one of the recognized node types, a custom icon for that type will be added, otherwise a Custom Point of Interest (CPOI) blue flag icon will be added. Note, there is a known problem when using the German (DE) client, some custom ore nodes will not be added due to a special character in their name - this will be corrected in the next release.

Re: Re: Wrong Ore Annotations for German Client

I believe I know what may have gone wrong. The string encoding used to communicate with the helper plugin that allows saving/loading data in real time may not handle one of the special characters properly. From your description it sounds like the ":" character. I will look into it and hopefully have a fix for the next version.

EDIT: Confirmed. The ":" in "Ader:" ore node names is not handled properly when saving/loading custom annotations. This probably also impacts sharing annotations, but I haven't looked into that yet.
Thanks for the quick reply. Glad to hear you found the problem. Looking forward to the next version

Hi, thank you for making and maintaing these absolutely great map mods!
Especially using the annotation capture tool for crafting nodes.
Got MoorMap and TerrainMap working in sync.

Using the german client, I realized that ore nodes always get saved as "Ader" without further specification and with the default blue flag icon instead of the specific icon for ore nodes. Wood branches are handled correctly though.

Maybe got an idea why this is happening?

Ver 1.51

Mostly this version fixes the issues with annotations/Treasure Caches in Azanulbizar reported by Jethpriel. More generally, this adds support for annotations in region 14, Tales of Yore. Note that MoorMap still lists Azanulbizar T.A. 2799 and the Nud-melek T.A. 1981 instance under the Rhovanion region and this will probably continue since "Tales of Yore" is not a geographical region but rather Rhovanion content from a different time.

In order to view custom annotations in TerrainMap that were saved for the Azanulbizar or Nud-melek maps, you will need TerrainMap version 1.34 (coming soon) or higher. Until then, the annotations will only be visible and editable in MoorMap.

Yeah, it looks like the bug is due to the code that handles saving/updating custom annotations and automatically synching them with TerrainMap. Since TerrainMap doesn't support region 14, there is no grid reference for them which causes an error and the routine fails before it gets to the part that actually saves/updates the annotations for MoorMap. It isn't that hard of a thing to fix, but will take some time since there are RL considerations that have priority.

UPDATE: The bug with the custom annotations in Azanulbizar has been resolved but required an update to TerrainMap to support Tales of Yore (region 14). Now that that is out of the way, the next step is to recapture the default annotations for Azanulbizar - yeah, they got wiped out at some point and none of my backups go back far enough so I'll be spending a day or so running around the zone when I find time to recapture the data.

Any ideas?

Well, switching map also makes them disapear

When using the new mark feature on already marked treasures, my annotations also disapear.

I thought I would inform you that this: When you open a new chest, a large button will display for "Mark
Is working just fine in Mattugard/Gundabad where I am doing quests right now.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll have to look into it. Azanulbizar requires special treatment because it is not in the regular regions but a special region (14) and one of the coordinate functions may not be properly accounting for this.

EDIT: A quick glance at the data file shows only 9 default annotations so something went wrong, probably an issue when maintaining the annotations due to their special region - this is not just treasure caches that are missing
