Hi Adra, thanks for your support

The issues your having are strange. The MCHA.plugindata should have all numbered data turned to string format, apart from the coordinates for the options window OWx and OWy, which ive fixed for the next update. The code for fixing German and French clients was implemented with version 1.01 (long time ago)

So you should be seeing something like this for color-

["1"] = "0.22352941176471",

Or is this not the case?

Besides all that, it seems to me that you may need to try with a clean MCHA.plugindata. i.e. remove your old one and see if a new one works better. If that doesnt fix it, then ill hurry up with the next update, as the options window coordinate data may be the issue.

-Fortunis

EDIT: It just occured to me that if your referring to German/French issues that were solved in v1.01 then that must mean youve only used v1.00 and YOU MUST delete your MCHA.plugindata, as explained above for update 1.01.

Hi,

I've already deleted this file a lot of times to be able to run MCHA to work on a modified version 2 default settings, to fit my needs without saving a profile.

Today, I've fully deleted my Plugindata folder to exclude any conflict or other doubt source.

I had set back Windows to " , " as decimal symbol, I launched the game, then manager (mcha as only one active plugin), no trouble till there, then I saved a profile, jumped to the character selection, came back into the game, launched Manager :

......../AllServers/MCHA.plugindata:3: ']' expected near ','
...d of the Rings Online\Plugins\Fortunis\MCHA\Main.lua:266: Unable to parse file!

So you should be seeing something like this for color-
["1"] = "0.22352941176471",
Or is this not the case?

--> I don't understand at all what you mean sry

k, it must be the OWx and OWy then. Ill get the next update done for tomorrow. Just need to make sure everything is working that ive implemented so far.

I was meaning in MCHA.plugindata you should be seeing data entries similar to that. That have a decimal dot and not a decimal comma.

Configurable bootscreen

It would be nice if you could change your bootscreen to be configurable. MCHA is in my bootstrap autobootmenu. When testing new plugins with load/unload I have to deactivate it otherwise I find it quite annoying after several reload cycles...

This is what i do too when working on other things and loading plugs often

Not sure why its a pain to click MCHA off from bootstrap (or any other plug manager) for the duration your working on plugs/skins , but i'll think about it nonetheless

Maybe have it load only once when first used and/or when no plugindata was previously found. OR maybe see if i can get it to show once per day, if thats possible. Ill look into the possibilities though for you

Thumbs up congratz

Well done !

The coma is no more an issue with v3.1

I can now save a profile 1, which strangely seems to be the default profile, i still don't understand what "save general settings" is intended to do, because it don't saves the current settings I define until I save profile 1, but, the important thing is a default profile can be saved and works fine, which is now the case

Btw the messages "saving general settings / saving profile X" are not displayed any more.

Concerning the pop up panel at starting, I think too it could just appear at first use, for example when no "MCHA.plugindata" exists.

At mcha loading, you've already defined a clear display of the informations about the plugin and its author in the chat window, maybe it is enough after first use

In any case,

good job for this plugin and for the v3.1 !

Aye, it deffinatly was the OWx and OWy causing the issues. Glad its sorted for you now

I guess i need to explain the workings of this to you ...

If you have Combat Swap Profile enabled (which is saved only via 'Save General Settings') then what you will have appear when u load MCHA plugin is what ever profile you have selected as your 'Out of Combat = Profile #'.

'Save General Settings' saves data about all elements. Checkboxes, Highlighter image, size colour etc.

'Save Profile #' saves only the Highlighter image, size and colour, and nothing more.

The messages concerning settings saved has been altered so that only the saved message appears after 5-10 secs. This is down to the lotro clients method of acknowledging it. So i decided to remove the 'settings saving...' part. You used to get 2 messages at version 3.00, now you only get 1 message for version 3.01.

The problem here is, if the user has used MCHA before, then they will have plugindata. So if/when another update to MCHA is done/used and ive decided to change the welcome screen, they wont see it.

It shouldnt be a big deal for it to show up once per day for both normal user and/or someone loading/unloading plugins constantly while coding or skinning. Besides, im the type of person who likes to think outside the box and do things a little different to others. The new plugin im working on would be a great example of this because i feel its gonna have a wow factor about it, but unfortunatly its early days yet and im not releasing any information about it at this time

Once again thanks for your support and feed back Adra

p.s. its v3.01

Hi Fortunis,

first of all thx for the new Version, I love the Plugin

I downloaded the new Version a few minutes ago, deleted the old Version, put the new Version in my folder and wanted to test the plugin in game.

Unfortunately I get the following error:

...Lord of the Rings Online/PluginData/xxxxxxxxx/AllServers/MCHA.plugindata:6: ']' expected near ','
..Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Fortunis\MCHA\Load.lua:7: Unable to parse file!

What can I do?

Thank you for your Support and greetings from Germany

Exactly the same error Adra was having, which was fixed for him with this new version 3.01. Line number different but still the same, as the data swaps and changes lines when different saves happen.

Have you tried deleting your MCHA.plugindata?

This might sound like hash criticism, but it's intended to be constructive.

Is it really necessary to have a HUGE popup screen and 5 lines of information showing up every time this plugin loads, with your name stenciled all over the place?

The main purpose of this plugin is to be an aid for people who have problems seeing the mouse cursor. There really shouldn't be any need for bloating it up with all that useless boasting.

Constructive criticism accepted

I wouldnt call it boasting, but more like recognition. If users knew how to rate someones hard work, i probably wouldnt have opted to place a welcome screen at all. At least placing the welcome screen on, has brought more people to comment here

Although, like ive mentioned in other areas of this site, i like to do things slightly different than other people or at least try to. But tbh, the present welcome screen wasnt/isn't intended to be a long term component of the plugin and it will have work done to it, to lessen its activity at the very least. Where it ends up once the plugin is totally finished is anyones guess. New ideas thought up and/or community input (like yours) can mould the plugin into something different than firstly intended.

Thanks for your comment.

Error when starting options window

Hi,
When I try to start the options window with /mcha after loading the plugin, I get the following error:
...Rings Online\Plugins\Fortunis\MCHA\OptionsWindow.lua:195 : attempt to perform arithmetic on field '0' (a nil value)

I deleted all folders and reinstalled the newest version (3.03) and also deleted my .pluginsdata
The image around the cursor is visible in combat, so everything else seems to work, I just can't change any settings.
I use an english client in a german windows on a german server (Belegaer).
