How do I get my currently equipped item into the bottom right Equipped box of the main window? I've had the tool automatically add my items to the Equipped build but I'm not sure it's using them on the main window.

There is an issue at present with the lua environment within the game which can lead to game crashes. Unfortunately I am at a loss of what I can do to fix this my end as Turbine haven't been very forthcoming in what is actually causing the crashes.

All I can suggest is to physically unload your plugins before relogging - so far I have found this to be more effective at preventing crashes.

Is there a way to switch what class Tulkas views you as?

For example, my jeweler is a minstrel. If I'm trying to compare what I can make to what I'm wearing as say, a captain, I don't get reliable results because Tulkas acts as if it's the mini wearing the items, not the captain. Sometimes this isn't an issue but can lead to problems with things like Might converting to phys/tactical mastery and such.

I could do it the long way by logging into each toon first and figuring out which jewelry I want, but I'm lazy, so that doesn't appeal to me.
Thank you for the suggestion. The code is somewhat complicated.. and everything in the plugin is really focussed around the character you are on. I could look in the future at maybe saving character stats and being able to mimick being on that character within the plugin - but I don't think it is something I will add anytime soon. With Christmas coming I have a lot to do with RL and work that will keep me busy most likely until the new year.

Best plugin ever!

Let me start by saying I'm absolutely blown away by this plugin. Where has it been hiding my whole LOTRO life?!

I wanted to paste in the code for some new items, but I'm currently getting empty [code] brackets when exporting the 7 items I had selected. Tried restarting to see if simply reloading the plugin would fix it, but alas - still just says:
"Please help develop this plugin by uploading your items to Lotro Interface to be included in future updates
http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info669-Tulkas.html

<CODE>
</CODE>"
I replaced the brackets with carrots simply for the visual. It was outputting the bracket correctly.

Also, question for you on the possibility of instruments being added as an alternative to "ranged weapon"? As it was, I couldn't find a place to pop that in to be able to compare the stats on my Minstreling choices.

Keep up the amazing work! I love databases and I'm happy to help provide some item updates once I'm able to!

Cheers,
Ophelia - Elendilmir

Edit to Add: Just realized that the plugin causes the same mouse-scroll bug that the mailbox does in that when you use the scroll inside the plugin (or within a mailbox), you can no longer use the scroll-wheel to zoom in or out. Seeing as it's been since the release of the game that the mailbox bug has existed, I'm confident there isn't a solution to this - just thought I'd toss it out to you as simply an FYI.

AMAZING plugin!

I've been using plugins and skins from this site for a while now, but had to register in order to leave some feedback for you.

I LOVE this plugin. Very, very well done!

I do have one question - whenever I go to edit an item I added manually, I get the following error message:

Code:
Online\Plugins\GaluhadPlugins\Tulkas\NewItem.lua:739: attempt to index local '_tempItem' (a nil value)
Keep it up! This is already my favorite plugin!

How can i edit excisting items like the 75er skirmish loot???
Items included in the plugin database can't be edited within the plugin itself. The best thing I can suggest is to re-add the loot.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Not as good as I had hoped...

The items that you put into the different builds are coded to be saved when you unload the plugin, so the next time you load it they are already there. If this is not working for you then we need to work out why

With regards to your request for a copy button, this is a good idea, thank you I have added it to the next update.

Is there a way to save the currently equipped items in the tulkas equipped screen? Every time I load the plugin, I have to re-equip the items I am wearing.

Also, It would be helpful to be able to copy the setup I have on the equipped screen to the build 1 and 2 screens. That way I could just change one item, for example, and then know what the change is.

Lorebook is Turbine's web database of items: http://lorebook.lotro.com
You can search for items that exist in the game, however it's not always up-to-date or containing all the items. I use a piece of software I wrote to extract the item info from the Lorebook website - however if it's not up-to-date or still has missing items (as is usually the case) then unfortunately they just won't appear in the plugin unless they are individually manually added.

I just don't have the time or knowledge of all the items to check and do this myself which is why I included the ability to add items yourself. Whilst I do try to make it as easy for you as possible it doesn't always work out.

I have another database update coming soon with an additional 12,000 items from the one that is currently available. However I have searched for these items in Lorebook that you posted and they aren't on there which means that they won't be in the plugin's database.

The one way you can really help is by sharing the items you have to add manually so I can include them in future database updates. You can do this by clicking on 'My Items' -> 'Check All' -> 'Export' - then copy and pasting all the text to this page No programming experience or knowledge of the plugin's intimate workings required.

I hope that clears some of this up for you, let me know if you have any more issues with it.

Sure, I am a 75 guard, I have a tunic called Hyrde-Breost, a ring called Rider's steel band, my pocket item is Hyrde-gylp, an earring called Hydre-Are, another earring called Stag's Head Earring, leg armor called Scale Leg guards of the Hill-watcher.

These are only a few examples.

Also, you mentioned it pulls from lorebook....is that another plugin I should have? Or is it part of LOTRO. If I can download it also, that would be great.

I would love to help make this better, but I don't have any programming knowledge. Let me know what else I can do.

Lastly, is the list of recognizable items more the higher level, set armor type pieces? I noticed some of the high level Theodred's crafted items were all present. Just curious.

Hi, sorry to hear you are having problems. Would you mind listing some of the items you are not finding, and also your character level.

The problem is that there is no API that can extract item stats from the game iteself, it relies entirely on a database which is pulled from Lorebook. If the item is not on Lorebook then it won't be in the Tulkas database.

That being said, the software I wrote for extracting items from Lorebook was not very efficient, it literally searches every ID from a starting point, one at a time for a number of IDs. There are over 20,000 items, but spread out through 300,000 IDs - you can imagine how long this takes. It also meant that I had to guess at the start and end IDs to capture everything between.

What I realised yesterday morning after posting the update that I was missing a huge chunk of items from about 40,000 IDs earlier than I had started (which I will post later today).

The good news is that yesterday during the down time I completely re-wrote the software I use to search Lorebook and extract the IDs using it's own search results so I no longer have to waste time searching invalid IDs or even missing some out.

Like I said before though, if you could list some of the items you're missing, I can then check whether I've missed some more IDs or whether there is an issue in the plugin.

Thanks

I love the idea for this plugin, as I am always trying to figure out which items will give the biggest boost. The problem is so many of the items I either find or am wearing are not in the database. I find myself spending way too much time trying to add items.

For example, I loaded up the plugin, and tried to import the items I had equipped. However, only 4 of the times I had on were imported. I couldn't find the rest in the database, even though some were unique items.

Is there some list of items I could download? I just don't want to spend so much time entering info on items I find. It just takes for ever, and ruins the appeal of the plugin.

Am I right on this, or is there something blatant I am missing?
