Legendary Items

I am curious how the plugin is suppose to take into account legendary items...or if it does. (love the new redesign, hopefully it plays nicer for me than the other one as I had weird problems with it....)

Hi. Thanks for giving it another try. I hope you find v2 more efficient.
With regards to LIs, I haven't included them and haven't considered doing so. The system has such a broad range of combinations it would be a huge task making something that works. I might add something one day, but I doubt it will be any time soon.
There are some base LIs in the plugin, and you can always add your own manually. If you edit the item you can apply all the stats that are on your LI and use it that way if you want to compare them.

Exclamation GLITCH!

When I'm working with the builds, on occassion the text of my last build tab pop up next to my mouse and STAYS. It follows my mouse across the screen, pasting the build name as it goes. Within seconds, my screen was covered! Every time it's happened, the only way I've gotten it to clear is to reload the plugin

That seems a bit odd, and definitely not intended. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

What exactly are you doing when the message pops up? Does it pop up as a tooltip, or just the text alone? Also when you say the last tab, do you mean the tab at the end, or the last tab you had open?

Galuhad,
I've also seen this behavior. It began with, I think, the previous version and was carried forward into the current version. I remember thinking the bug might be resolved while DL'ing the newest version.

What I was doing was clicking on various items, trying to enter my current equipment and/or the new equipment build items - I think. I was several minutes and dozens of mouse clicks/tooltips into the process.

Hovering over an item, I click the mouse, the tooltip is showing; you don't realize it's in error just yet. Then you go to move the mouse and anywhere the mouse pointer goes, the tooltip follows and periodically leaves a tooltip "stamped" on the screen, obscuring game content. In a couple of minutes the game interface is no longer usefully visible. What appears is the full tooltip: black border, white background, black text. It is drawn to the screen and never erased.

These stamps cannot be removed. Going windowed they're maintained. Alt+Tabbing, the same. You either have to reload the plugin and/or reload LotRO.

PS: As detailed as this info is, I'm sorry if it's vague. I unloaded the plugin and haven't re-used it in a month or so. This info is from memory and we both know how faulty that can be! So take this with a pinch of salt ATM. If you need, I will re-test.

Hey thanks for confirming. Myself and a kinnie have both spent the past hour hovering over buttons and things to show tooltips, clicking on things, creating builds, searching and so on. No matter what we do we can't seem to recreate this. If you could, a much more detailed report would be most welcome. I need to see why this is happening but that's difficult when I am unable to recreate it
Also, unloading the plugin should clear this - you shouldn't need to exit the game.

Note: This is a second error (potentially). Completely forgot about this one.

The following is what happens with just your mod. I have not merged in Tulkas M, the database patch. This is all the same game client session, I simply logged out one character and brought in another. Tulkas was loaded via Bootstrap plugin manager once the client was running and the character loaded. Color coding is equivalent to client's (just in case error coloration matters).

First thing I encounter is the following immediately in response to a /tulkas equipment on a Hobbit Hunter (a mule), 8th level, just out of Intro areas still with Intro items equipped. I think he's done the quests from Little Delving to Michel Delving only.

[06/25 05:25:40 PM]
Loaded 'Tulkas' v2.1.1 by Galuhad [Eldar]
Use command '/tulkas show' to show/hide the menu icon
Use command '/tulkas equipment' to set your equipped items
...GaluhadPlugins\Tulkas\Windows\Includes\Equipmen t.lua:78 attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

I get the same thing from a 33rd Dwarf Rk, including the following from Manage Builds/Equipped/Get Equipment button:
...ns\GaluhadPlugins\Tulkas\Windows\MissingItemsWi n.lua:32: attempt to concatenate global 'LASTKNOWNID' (a nil value)

With a 54th Hobbit Burglar, just using /get equipment, the Tulkas:Get Equipment windows appears - although no items are ID'ed (all grey).

With a 74th Man Burglar, using /get equipment displays the Tulkas:Get Equipment window with approximately half the items ID'ed (green). This is the character that I would have previously used Tulkas on - including manually adding database items. Since I haven't fully updated equipment since then, the half ID'ed status is reasonable.

Still trying to replicate original error, but have some time constraints today.

I think I have an idea of what might of caused this, and should have it fixed in the next update.

This is something I am already aware of and will also have fixed for the next update. This only affects the item scanner so everything else should work still.

It is intentional that some items will be grey until you link them to one of the chat channels. The API can tell us the name of the item being worn, but not the exact ID - which means nothing when there are thousands of items that have shared names. At the moment the only way to handle this is for the plugin to list the names of the items being worn, and assume that any items linked with a matching name will be the one you are wearing. If you are not getting the names of the items, then that's a different matter, but otherwise it seems to be working as intended. Any items showing up as green would have been identified in the past, or added to the equipped build manually.

Thank you for all the feedback though, it's good to get this because otherwise I assume everything is working.

Just wanted to chime in to let you all know that I am still working on the essence update to this plugin, just falling a little behind with RL stuff taking over. Will get it out as soon as I can

Maybe it's just me...(probably is) but the item scanner just shows up as a Item ID field...and that's it. When I go to add my build and add items that are grayed out, they never seem to actually be added. I'm confused. I tried deleting all Tulkas files in plugins and for individual characters but still not working. Am I missing something or does my computer simply not wanting to play nice with this plugin? Just wondering...thanks!

Hi. This is because the Turbine folder is in the wrong place. It should be included with the download, but might need to be moved so it sits: Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/Plugins/Turbine

Item Scanner not working

Greetings

I've only just installed your plugin for the first time and moved the 'turbine' folder to the correct place as instructed above.

Plugin loads fine, but no items searched and when I go to the Scan Game Items for the first time it reports back with error: ...ns\GaluhadPlugins\Tulkas\Windows\MissingItemsWi n.lua:32: attempt to concatenate global 'LASTKNOWNID' (a nil value)

When I click it a second time it opens up the scan window and I can enter in a Start ID no., but there are no other buttons to push and even hitting enter does nothing.

Any explanation as to why this is happening?

Sorry about this. Usually these are added at the end of the items file but seems they got misled.
If you open globals.lua in notepad and paste this:

Code:
FIRSTKNOWNID = 1879049233;
LASTKNOWNID = 1879305877;
at the top of the page and save, it should load without issues.

Thanks for the timely response! That little bit of code made it work, yay!
Now to play around with it and see how it all works.

I notice though, that if I do a 'Scan Game Items' and copy the name of an item with a green dot and then try to do an 'Item Search', sometimes it doesn't display the item? No error messages either.

I've tried using the advanced search with varying filters, but still can't find that particular item.
Not that this is a really particular item I'm looking for, I just came across this while testing the plugin.
Item in query I searched for are: Fated Dagger, which actually returned a error
"...\Plugins\GaluhadPlugins\Tulkas\Windows\SearchW in.lua:938: attempt to compare number with nil"

I just did a search for the armour I have equipped and the search only came up with 3 items of the set. The set is the Vicious Proclamation.
Dumb question, but how do I know what an item's ID is so that I can try scan for it if it's not found in the 'item search'?

...I think I figured it out, at least in regards to the Vicious Proclamation. I noticed that some of the items in the set don't have a minimum level req. I had to go to advanced and remove the min. and max. level from the search query and then it all came up.

The edit tool works really well though
And as a whole I think you have done an outstanding job with this plugin!
Great work
