I downloaded it and loaded it into the folder, went in and /plugins load lotromaps and nothing happens. Well, it does say Loaded plugin "lotromaps". /plugins list does read out LotROMaps (0.01) so I fear i have the wrong version downloaded even though I got it from the big download button. Is there any reason the map wouldn't work like resolution or settings or any other fix anyone knows about?

The November update broke this plugin. Since the purpose of this release was for demonstration purposes, and only included a single map - I really don't see the need to release a fix until I am able to release something that's actually useful. Regrettably this has been delayed due to real life, as well as making good on pre-plugin promises (i.e. the character journal gadgets).
I do want to say that this has not been abandoned by any means. All the zone maps have been set up, with just image editing remaining to merge the sub-zone parchment into the main zone, tile chopping, and then getting the bounds of the dev/game coords. In addition, I have a close to reliable helper application that will feed location data to the plugin (it works quite well - there's just a little issue with resuming after you load/unload the plugin). After that comes four main features I want to include in the next update.
1) The ability to add your own points to the map
2) Some method of being able to share existing map points - most likely through copying/pasting and commands
3) Map "hot spots" similar to the in-game parchment for easy navigation between zones.
4) The option to use a location "helper" application which will feed the application location/heading data.
For #3, I would also like to make zooming out further than the smallest current zoom, zoom out to region maps and finally the Eriador map, but due to the weird perspective on the Rhovanion map, this might require more work, and may not make it into the next update.
The last part is hopefully only temporary, until Turbine provides such data within the API. Regardless, due to acknowledging the unease some may have with using external applications, the plugin will work without this app. Of course, if you choose not to use this app, you will not be able to display your location on the map.
Again, I apologize for the delay and although I'm sorry that this is currently not working, you're really not missing a whole lot at this point. Unless of course, you really really like Lothlorien.
In that case - if you're feeling ambitious, here's a couple of tips to get it working.
1. Turbine.UI.Window is now
not visible by default. So after every declaration of <some var>=Turbine.UI.Window, you need to add:
<some var>:SetVisible(true);
in the case that it's a class declaration, then the following must be added:
self:SetVisible(true);
2. Something really really funky has happened with list boxes with the November update. For whatever reason, it now becomes invisible to mouse contact after the first time you click + drag, and release. Meaning you won't be able to move the map around, and the coords won't show. In order to "fix" this, find the variable for the listbox, and make sure you do something like:
<listbox var>:SetMouseVisible(true)
in the MouseUp event handler for that listbox.
After you follow those two steps, it should work fine. Again, keep in mind this was only a proof-of-concept, and the most interesting thing about it is its potential. You'll be able to restore/minimize the window, browse Lothlorien in a zone-based Google Maps-like manner, see game coords for your mouse, switch between parchment/terrain views...and that's about it.
