Plugin Feed URL issues for LOTRO Plugin Compendium

It looks like the directory structure changed on lotrointerface, I'm getting a 404 error on the /fav/ directory.
(Plugin Feed URL is http://api.lotrointerface.com/fav/plugincompendium.xml)

edit: I just sent Cairenn a PM about it, since it appears to be a site issue.

404 error on opening LPC

Anyone else getting a 404 error when they open LPC?

Same here - hasn't been updated in a long time but has always worked. First noticed an issue today.

Hi

Quote:
  1. First try running as administrator. (right click run as...) If it does not find the plugin folder it tries to create one. It might not be able to get past that part.
  2. Look for a file in a location like the following. Shut down LPC, make a backup of that file, and then delete the copy in that directory. C:\Users\<Your User>\AppData\Local\PluginCompendium\PluginCompend ium.exe_Url_<bunch of characters>\1.0.3.0\user.config
The first two points dosen't work.

Quote:
  1. Try the Java version of LPC. Its not as nice as it has no installer, but will do the job of updating your plugins.
The java version is running well and the updates also.

If there any possibilities then please rebuild the Windows version on Wndows 8.1 with all updates from Microsoft again, and post a new version.

Thanks for your support.
Cheers HH

It is working for me in Window 8.1 x64. I am sorry you were having trouble getting it working. Thank you for taking the time to report the issue.

Things for you to try.

Hi
first issue, I have re-installed the program.
Now, if I start the program the message appear:

"LOTRO Plugin Compendium (LPC) doesn't work" and the error window
disappear.

After that nothing more happens.

what now?

Regards HH

Question Windows 8.1 compatible

Hello
I could operate this application under Windows 8.1 until recently.
This is not working now any more.
I reject, that 8.1 does not stand under the requirements.

Therefore the question: when gets 8.1 compatible?

Thanks for Feedback.

Just found the cause of .NET Framework 3.5 not installing, apparently it's installed in the Windows 7 OS by default so it won't let me install/re-install with the regular setup... Out of ideas now. Will give the Java edition a try I guess.
For Windows 7 I think you have to choose "Turn Windows features on or off" under Programs and Features. Restart, then turn it back on. Hope that helps.

I installed it a few weeks ago and now I can't find it. It appears on the Add/Remove Programs list, but a Windows search for "LPC" and "lotro plugin compendium" turns up nothing. Manually going through my Program files folders yields nothing, either.

Where the heck is this program???
Its called "LOTRO Plugin Compendium" under Programs and Features. Publisher "Lunarwater".

I'm sorry it is not working correctly. The only thing I can think of is that LPC uses microsoft .net framework. It could be that while many of the files exists, something is not quite right with .net installation. You might see if the .net framework needs reinstalled or repaired. I know microsoft has a .net repair tool that can check to make sure everything is ok. This blog on msdn referenced several good links on microsofts site (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/arc...3/8999004.aspx). Perhaps one of them can help. Good luck.

While it is not ideal, you could also try temporarily using the LPC that was written in java. It will work for windows, but doesn't have the nice installation support & windows shortcuts that get installed with normal windows based one. http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...mMacLinux.html
Thanks for the quick reply!

I ran the repair tool and re-installed my .NET Framework 1.1 & 4.5 that were installed on my machine, without results. Just noticed the LPC requires the 3.5 version (which should be covered by 4.5, but you never know), so I'm looking at that now (but the installation setup won't do anything... *sigh*)
