Note: VitalBars has been updated to NOT overwrite other plugin Player events and to use the latest version of Turbine packages. However, until the issue discussed here is handled properly by Turbine other plugins may overwrite the VitalBars Listeners causing VitalBars not to work properly. Loading VitalBars last is recommended to avoid the potential overwrite.
What is does
Displays characters level, name, morale and power bars. Used in conjunction with a buff / debuff plugin it can replace the default Vitals frame.
Features- Display character morale and power stacked on top of each other or horizontally side by side.
- Independantly resize the width and height of the morale and power bars.
- Optionally hide default Vitals frame.
- Optionally displays character level, name, morale text, and power text.
- Optionally displays morale and power text as percentages.
- Optionally displays only morale or power.
- Adjustable in combat and out of combat opacity.
- Optionally adjust opacity based on Morale percentage. ie. When Morale bar is no longer visible you must be dead.

- Optionally maintain In Combat opacity when health is not 100%.
- Choose from 2 different backgound. A 3D look or flat look.
- Integrated with UI lock/unlock for moving.
- Does not have buff/debuff functionality. I use Pengoros' Buffbars for this.
Credit
This plug is a modification of the Turbine Vitals plugin by Rod so credit for the actual functionality of the bars goes to Rod. I copied quite a bit from Pengoros' Buffbars so credit for the following goes to Pengoros. - sliders, checkbox, and combobox in options window.
- saving and loading settings.
- UI lock/unlock integration for movement.
Dependancies- Turbine.Animation
- Turbine.UI.Extenstions
All these dependancies are available on the LOTRO site at http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...mples-updated!. Click the script examples ink. Within that 7zip file you only need the following directories. - Plugins\Turbine - make sure to grab all the .lua files or Animations fail to load.
- Plugins\Turbine\Animations
- Plugins\Turbine\UI
Future Plans (In no particular order) - Expand context menu to include all items of the default vitals window.
- Allow user to choose colors for background and forground of Morale and Power bars.
- Optionally display bars vertically.
- Optionally move Morale and Power bars independant of each other.
On hold until Turbine API expands- Add support for pet, fellowship, and target.

Fixing the black transparency bug
For those veterans still using this plugin, recently there's been another issue with the vital bars going black when using 0 transparency out of combat. You see it after logging in and your health regenerating to full. Once that happens, the vital bar will not fade away. Instead it stays on screen and is black.
To fix this, use http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info624.html and replace the file as it instructs.

Problem loading plugin
I have a problem loading this plugins. When I go to load it gives me an error saying something about a nil value, but when I load it in game (using plugin manager) it loads fine.
I just posted this same problem with M_vitals (aka Vitals), they fixed it. I am hoping the same problem is in this plugin also.
Is there some way to delay when it loads.
Thanks for any reply

Yer, stupid of me (maybe), I had an old copy of AltInventory but not loaded, the error msg I posted was triggered by the loading of VitalBars, which was strange. Putting 2.05 in place stopped it from triggering the way it did.

Hmm. Interesting. That error shouldn't have anything to do with VitalBars. Instead it has to do with an ooooooold version of AltInventory - notably, the version that was released prior to the November 2010 game update. I have no idea why your installation of VitalBars would be referencing an AltInventory file. It sounds more like you have an antique version of AltInventory installed and accidentally set it to load when you set up VitalBars - did you just start using the Turbine Plugin Manager or some other manager and let it load the old AltInventory? Either way, you can eliminiate that particular error by downloading and installing the latest AltInventory (version 2.05) which was just published.

The last contact I had with this Author was just before Christmas of last year and he was promising more features (it's in this thread if you want to try and find it.) I think though, that after this length of time, it might be safe to say he has forgotten about this very cool (and very useful to us minimalists) plugin.
So that said ... is it acceptable for someone else to try and fix this to at least work w/ RoI and maybe add some of the requested features to it? I don't know LUA at all and don't really have the time to learn.... I would very much like to be able to use this again.

Faflaf, not sure if you are still around or not or maybe someone else can do this, but with ROI there was new LUA opened up allowing access to the Right Click Menu. Could this be added to Vital Bars? That would be awesome and I could hide the Character Vitals Completely.
I am also getting a weird : Failed to resolve package "". error when loading this as well.

Not very useful to me
I got it to work just fine by deleting the "Turbine.Utils" line from main.
However, since it seems to hide my buffs & debuffs (like food) I don't think it'll be very useful to me.
Oh well.

grrrrr
i get this and i installed files im sposed to get to plugins location
...f the Rings Online\Plugins\Faflaf\VitalBars\Main.lua:7: Unable to resolve package "Turbine.Utils". any help plz really want this mod to work
i read other posts and i copied files to where i thought is right location. lotr/plugins ---mabe u can add exact description to where as we copy the files and to exactly wat directory and if its ur faflaf folder or the contents inside we copy over- i think some of us are extracting to a non correct location. now i feel i have multiple files and some are just not where should be and duplicated and u know well..... can u mabe make it clear as to where the dl goes not just say same place as other dl's cos im now baffled and still get same error
...f the Rings Online\Plugins\Faflaf\VitalBars\Main.lua:7: Unable to resolve package "Turbine.Utils".
i use manager plugin and that works fine along with tonicbars, i had 0 problems with these been extracted
i placed the faflaf folder in my plugins folder along with the turbine and turbine plugins folders required-- i also have here my tonicbars folder and its add on extention dragbars and also my (shady)manager which all work in game. in my manager add on ur faflaf name does show up to load but on load up gives that same error. did i place something wrong or did i need to place files inside ur faflaf folder to a certain location?
all ready have this but did it any way and over wrote as needed--You need first install this http://content.turbine.com/sites/lot..._LuaPlugins.7z to the same Folder where your plugins are-
just came across this post -- I know how demoralising this can be when the bugs start to hit! Did you unload the old Turbine folder when you put in the new one, as Turbine.Utils has been removed. so am i to just delete the turbine folder and then copy the new turbine folder? soon find out if that was the problem will re post if problem is solved.. nope same problem still occurs--- thinks lotro wtb into curse client !!! even tho self extracting is easy even i am unsure why i have not got this plugin to work as i know how to read and copy paste etc but still get this problem and its sooo annoying.

I would be very happy, if you could rework that plugin to look like this:
https://picasaweb.google.com/callidu...51670446725906
I can imagine how much work it can be, but I have just started to learn programming, so it is impossible for me now. And also if you have done it, everyone would love you...

Am I correct in thinking this only changes your own unit frames and not your targets?
