Description
Note: VitalBars has been updated to NOT overwrite other plugin Player events and to use the latest version of Turbine packages. However, until the issue discussed here is handled properly by Turbine other plugins may overwrite the VitalBars Listeners causing VitalBars not to work properly. Loading VitalBars last is recommended to avoid the potential overwrite.

What is does
Displays characters level, name, morale and power bars. Used in conjunction with a buff / debuff plugin it can replace the default Vitals frame.

Features
  • Display character morale and power stacked on top of each other or horizontally side by side.
  • Independantly resize the width and height of the morale and power bars.
  • Optionally hide default Vitals frame.
  • Optionally displays character level, name, morale text, and power text.
  • Optionally displays morale and power text as percentages.
  • Optionally displays only morale or power.
  • Adjustable in combat and out of combat opacity.
  • Optionally adjust opacity based on Morale percentage. ie. When Morale bar is no longer visible you must be dead.
  • Optionally maintain In Combat opacity when health is not 100%.
  • Choose from 2 different backgound. A 3D look or flat look.
  • Integrated with UI lock/unlock for moving.
  • Does not have buff/debuff functionality. I use Pengoros' Buffbars for this.

Credit
This plug is a modification of the Turbine Vitals plugin by Rod so credit for the actual functionality of the bars goes to Rod. I copied quite a bit from Pengoros' Buffbars so credit for the following goes to Pengoros.
  • sliders, checkbox, and combobox in options window.
  • saving and loading settings.
  • UI lock/unlock integration for movement.

Dependancies
  • Turbine.Animation
  • Turbine.UI.Extenstions
All these dependancies are available on the LOTRO site at http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...mples-updated!. Click the script examples ink. Within that 7zip file you only need the following directories.
  • Plugins\Turbine - make sure to grab all the .lua files or Animations fail to load.
  • Plugins\Turbine\Animations
  • Plugins\Turbine\UI

Future Plans (In no particular order)
  • Expand context menu to include all items of the default vitals window.
  • Allow user to choose colors for background and forground of Morale and Power bars.
  • Optionally display bars vertically.
  • Optionally move Morale and Power bars independant of each other.

On hold until Turbine API expands
  • Add support for pet, fellowship, and target.

  • Fixed self.base.XXX error in FormElements directory by updating code copied from Buffbars to latest Buffbars version.

  • Upgraded Turbine dependancies list above to latest version provided by Turbine.
  • Removed dependancy on Turbine.Utils as it is no longer part of the Turbine provided packages.

Yeah, love the look but there was no option for stacking and could not get it to move to the bottom of the screen.

If you right-click on the bars there should be a context menu to open the Options screen. In there just below the sliders is a checkbox to stack Morale on top of Power.

To move the bars you have to unlock your UI by hitting ctrl+\.

let me know if it does not function this way.

I'm afraid this doesn't work. The bars are immovable even when in 'move UI' mode. I wish I could offer suggestions on how to fix this, but I am completely at a loss when it comes to scripting plugins. Good luck, though (as lame as that may sound)! I hope you're able to fix it. :P

I found and fixed the problem with the movement functionality. Please let me know if any other problems arise.

If there are features that people would like to see in this addon let me know. The only thing I'm not planning on doing at this point is adding buff / debuff info. Buffbars is a great plugin for that.

Would adding a capability to contol when VitalBars is visible be useful? ie. Show only when in combat, Show only when out of combat, or Always show.

P.S. Having the vital bars show only in combat would be kinda neat! Good idea! =)

Combat fading may be better - say 20% opacity when OOC and 100% when in. Or, completely faded when OOC unless Power or Morale are less than 100%.

no I have this, still have the the in game vitals and installed 3 other vitals plugins. I just never want to miss the fact I'm about to die again. As the tank that would be a bad thing.
Edit: Actually I may like 5 instances of VitalBars but if I wanted to do that bad enough I could look into editing it myself for that

Bad news everyone

The video card on my development machine died yesterday so VitalBars is on hold until I get that fixed. Hopefully, that will be this weekend.

On a more possitive note here the things I'm currently working on (or was working on).
  • Only show in combat / out of combat / always option. This will probably be an in combat opacity setting and an out of combat opacity setting.
  • Only show morale or Only show Power options.
  • Support for pets.
  • Support for groups.

I haven't looked into those last 2 items yet but I am concerned I may not be able to accomplish those with the current limitations of the LOTRO API.

Background Color

Any chance of being able to modify the background color on the bars? Green on Green & Blue on Blue is a bit hard to see for some of us. I'd love to be able to make the background color on the bars black.

I like the idea behind this, as they are more sleek then the UI versions of vitals that are currently out there.

I like the other things you mentioned of PET and GROUP .. but what about geting this to work for TARGET, and TARGET-of-TARGET as well? .. Mine doesnt seem to change the vitals for the target, only mine.. so just curious if I'm missing something since my Target is still showing original.

There's always a chance for everything. This should actually be a fairly simple request. It will be even easier and more useful if I can find a color picker that someone has already created. I hate reinventing the wheel so I'd rather use one someone else built then build my own. I'll try and add this in the next week or so.
