Help with vital issues...
 
I gave the Black Fade UI a try and became a fan. I am currently trying to mix and match it with an old favorite and having issues with only one thing...the player panel. I have moved all the files required to the correct place and put in the code directly from BlackFade's .xml.

However, the player panel will not appear as it should. The target panel works fine...which is what is throwing me off. I cannot find any code that should be contradicting yours that would cause the player panel to fail, but allow the target to work.

That's because you're playing a creep there and the creeps vital panel order is kinda reversed from the freeps. Plus when you roll a new creep you're considered as a "swarm" so the correct mapping is
ArtAssetID="swarm_vitals"

Creeps can gain levels by advancing to signature and elite mob status so you'll need to include at least the following
ArtAssetID="opponent_vitals_backdrop"
ArtAssetID="opponent_vitals_backdrop_signature"
ArtAssetID="opponent_vitals_backdrop_elite"


but it wouldn't hurt to add all of the 11 ArtAssets for vital panels.

Okay, so after attempting to integrate your suggestion, Daimon, I've run into new troubles.

First off, the old issue is still alive. It appears that somewhere, somehow, the original(Turbine created) vitals are being called for. However, I could be wrong about that, but that's what it appears to me(with my limited programming knowledge).

Now that I've attempted to use your suggestion, the player panel and target panel are overwriting each other. What I mean is that I have the code for the player panel first in the document, followed by the target. When I boot the game I find that the target panel is using the .tga files intended for use with the player panel. This causes issues with alignment, etc.

Is there some way to counter this? I will post the exact code below:

The ArtAssets that have _mp attached after the the name are used for creep side and others are used for freeps

Best way to figure out what ArtAsset does what is to download the latest Skin Art pack and have a look at the .TGA files there.

Ah ha! So here's another one for you.

I am working on shrinking the conjunction panel by 50%. Everything is in order and going well, except for one thing...



The problem with the Attempt Display I have worked out and is fine. However the Fellowship Manoeuvre Display seems to be calling for .tga files that I cannot find anywhere. I've searched the SkinDef file in the Book 8 Skin Art folder and the SkinDictionary as well. Neither seem to refer to the images that are being called for in the Manoeuvre Display, and I cannot find any .tga files in the Skin Art folder that appear to be what I need to resize.

As always, your help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I have attempted to simply add the suffix "_mp" to those images that are being called by the given code, but that did not work. My guess is that we don't yet have the images for the Warband Manouevres and thus cannot properly resize them. :(

To my knowledge you're correct. We can't mess around with FM panels. The only thing you can skin is the middle button in manoeuvre display. Have you checked in-game scalers if you could shrink it from there ? (I doubt it that you could but never know)

Yeah, I've checked the scaling available in Options...nothing available there.

I have managed to resize all of the elements except for the actual contributions themselves. I've even moved things around, but to no avail as the images are just clipped.

Oh well, I guess I will just hide that code until we get more access to the files.

Here we go again!

I'm working on yet another element for my modified skin. I want to add a small area above where the character name is to place my resized induction bar.

However, I am still quite new to this. I am not familiar, at all, how to modify a .tga so that the game knows what I am attempting to do.

Below is a picture of the vitals with a box to highlight where I'd like the new slot to be.

(I have tried to simply move the image down some and the corresponding elements in the .xml, to little avail. The image did move down in the panel, but there is no visible border like I am aiming for.

*Also of note, and curiousity, the rank icon refuses to show itself. It is placed just above the character level, but won't appear.
