Skin Viewer
I am working on tool so you can see what you skin will look like in the game without having to log in. Here is a quick screen shot (using agentfive's MonsterTime skin):
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/6964/skinviewerfz6.th.jpg You can select you own background, toggle the main toolbar on and off, and reload you images/XML files on the fly. This is not an actual interface, so you cannot click buttons and have menus open, but it will give you an idea of what the skin will look like. Still a ton of work to do before it is finished. Some of my todo list: Toggle the tile pattern on/off Select normal/pressed/rollover mode for buttons Let me know what you think. |
Thats looking great. This will really help things so you can have this open and photoshop so you can tweak things and see how they look right away.

Very nice work D.H1cks! This will be so helpful for interface authors! Kudos! :)

You will be my number one friend!! I have taken a break from skinning just because I don't feel like logging in 100 times to see how it looks. Please keep us posted!

Well, scratch those items off my todo list, they are working now. Here is an updated screenshot:

That looks great man. I have been looking at that skin and the blue scrolls one. im kinda on the fence for both atm.

This is very impressive so far. There will be some stuff in the works that will help make figuring out what sizes the various panels are, but it's not ready for the general release yet.

I have uploaded the current version for people to start using and provide feedback. Enjoy. |
skin viewer keeps crashing
I keep trying to execute the skin viewer but it crashes each time. Am I missing some runtimes or something?
|
There are only 5 files needed to run. The main program, the background image, the default XML file, and two tga files.
You do need to make sure you have .Net installed. Also, are you running XP or Vista? I have not tested the program on Vista, so I cannot say for sure if it will work. If you can capture any error message data and send it to me in a PM, that would be helpful too. |
