Default UI files
 

anyone know of a way to extract the xml and tga files of the default UI? If not...someone wanna do it?

My skills in making my own images are pretty good, but using premade ones and making the alpha on the images isn't my forté =/

There isn't any such way, yet. Your best bet at present is to take someone else's skin and use it as your template. Remember to give credit where credit is due, though. There are threads in the Tutorial forum that should also be of assistance. :)
