Spam-bots & verification

Would it be possible to have some sort of verification for people creating new accounts to try and reduce the amount of spam-bots appearing lately? Most forum systems have some way to make it harder for spam-bots to register accounts and post their gibberish.

Hey Galuhad,

We do have a captcha in place, but they can only do so much. Unfortunately. While they do a pretty good job of catching the bots, the (human) spammers are highly motivated so they are a lot harder to stop. That said, it may be time to take a look at which one we currently have in place and perhaps switch it.
