Chat box background help...

Hi folks,
I'm working on a UI here and I've run into a stumper.

I want to make the chat box background look like parchment, I have the mod done but it does not show up...

I used box_ebdark_center.tga and did the changes, made the Alpha layer white and I'm still getting the nearly transparent background that the UI I am using for the templates has.

Are there other files I need to modify?
If so which ones?
