Re: more than one quickslot bar
Quote:
I am a hunter and would like to have another quickslot bar that shows my oils, chants and some food when they are ready to expire.
I can not make another bar that works. All I get is a teeny, tiny bar in the upper left corner of my screen. Cant resize it or do anything with it.
|
BuffBars currently doesn't support this kind of thing. It only pops up quickslots for morale/power changes and curable debuffs.

I would like to see my debuffs on a larger scale in the target window. The default icons are way to small. I'm here looking for a mod that increases the default icons in the target window. Is this even possible with a mod? If yes does your mod support this or do you know of any mod that does?

The lua API doesn't give us access to target debuffs at this time. Hopefully a future lotro update will include it so that I can add it to BuffBars.

Hello.
Great job for this plugin, i like it. Issue 1.1.4 works well with french lotro.
Note : sorry for my english
I have a few questions and some suggestions.
What is the difference between buff and CD (Cooldown) ? I don't see what buff are CD and what are buff.
I don't see what "always show" done. What is the difference between the default state and the "always show" state.
And a suggestion :
Is it possible to set a buff as "sticked" ? (pearhaps is the objective of "always show").
When a "sticked" buff isn't in the buff window, it stay in the window with just it's name and a red border "well visible".
It will be usefull for himself to show a buff, for example the +10% moral buff for capitain, the "à la défense de la terre du milieu" (don't know its name in english, +50 in all carac) for capitain, the buff +80 will for lore-master, etc ...
This buff could be set as "sticked" and also as "ignore". Then the buff is display as "missing" when it is not present, but when it is launch, it does not appear in the window
The best (in a futur version) will be to have the possibility to "group" some buff in a group name, and display a red "missing" buff with the name of the group. For example, having a group named "capitain buff", that contains the 3 possible capitain buffs (critical, power regen, parade). If the player hasn't have one of this 3 buffs, the plugin display a "missing" buff named "capitain buff". It will work with the stances of champions, hunters, warden, ministrel (with "Tale of Warding" and others), etc ...

Got this message last night while sparring against a LM:
...ne\Plugins\PengorosPlugins\BuffBars\QuickslotBa r.lua:297: attempt to perform arithmetic on field '?' (a nil value)
Didn't take away anything, just a note of what happened. Keep up the great work. Love the plugin!
(edit...hmm just realized that I was running 1.1.3 ....let me try the new one)

I had an interesting issue arise the other day, and I am not sure if this can be helped.
First off, your plugin is awesome. I have customized Buffbars all over my screen.
As a minstrel, I realized how useful it would be to show me the dropped-Warspeech healing debuff. That is, when you turn Warspeech stance off a 10 second debuff applies that gives you a healing penalty. Unfortunately, the game has also named the debuff "War-speech," and any bar that shows the debuff must also show the stance.
Since I don't care to have a bar that reminds me I am always in Warspeech, is there a way to decouple the stance-buff and debuff, or is this a limitation of LOTRO's poor choice of naming?

still problems with saved data on EU client
Buffbars runs fine with the EU (german) client. As long as you use only one client. I have installed the german and english client and sometimes switch the languages, just to have lotro in native language.
When running the english client, buffbars won't load the saved data from the german client (and vice versa). I get a nil value from settings.lua (around line 58 iirc, I'm not ingame atm)
You test Turbine.Eninge.GetLocale(). On my system it always returns "de", regardless of client, because of a German Windows Installation. Saved numbers are different from client. The DE-client uses "0,3", the EN-client "0.3". (the decimal separator in Germany is the comma)
I will do some test later this day.
I hope, Turbine does some fixes to the localized clients with the "November"-Update (which we probably get in december in Europe...)

First off: Your Plugin is great! Being able to reposition the Buffs/Debuffs has been on my wishlist for quite a long time.
There's just one thing that would make your plugin perfect for me:
Could you implement the option to completely remove the the timer bar and only show the icon?
Right now the only way to do this is by hiding the bar behind the icon by increasing the icon size to 50 and reducing the bar length to 50. But I would like to have smaller buff icons (something in the range of 30) without having any timer bar attached to it.
Also would it be possible to have the icon flash on expiring as well (or add any other indicator to the icon if the bar is not visible)?
Cheers,

Cooldowns are timers for pots. I doubt they work in the french version due to pot names being different than the english versions.

"Always Show" will make an item always visible regardless of filters you have in place. For example if you have unchecked the wound category but choose to always show a "deep wound" that debuff will still show up on the bar.

There was a plugin that did this kind of thing but I don't remember the name. It isn't something I'm likely to add to buffbars though in the near future due to the limited amount of time I have right now to work on enhancements.

Due to the unfortunate naming conflict there isn't anything you can do in the current version with the ignore/show stuff. You may be able to turn on effect logging so you can see what category each one falls into. If they have different categories you could filter one out that way.

I'm note sure there is anything at this point that I can do to make the two client saved files compatible but I will keep looking.

me again
Code:
..Online\Plugins\PengorosPlugins\BuffBars\Settings.lua:58: table index is nil
The "problem" is the tonumber() function. It expects a comma as decimal separator in the german client, and a dot in the english client.
I think, it's Turbine's part to fix this. Either they use always the dotted form (i'd prefer) or use settings depending from the locale. (as returned by Turbine.Engine.GetLocale(), not the compiled language of the client)
Expected launch date for the "november update" in EU is the 7th December. Let's see, if Turbine.PluginData.Load() is fixed then...
