That being said, I will try to introduce a backup system so that a failed write doesn't do this again! Simply, create backup first, then try to write new file, if successful, remove the old. I'll have to experiment a little for feasibility, but I think it can be done.

I'm not sure what you mean here. I did not mean adding triggers or visibility for creep classes (although that would be nice aswell), but simply adding a trigger option for when you are in a Monster Play zone (only Ettenmoors for now).

I made this quick picture to show you what i mean. Sorry for the terrible Photoshop work, but I think you get what I'm trying to show.



For the record, Monster Play doesn't mean only Monster classes, but also Free Peoples in the Ettenmoors (and future PvMP zones).

I hope this clears things up a bit. Would this be possible to add?

Hello,
as I am Roleplayer I noticed a BUG with shorttexts.
sry I use the german client, so you may not recognize my commands.
WHen I use /shorttext 7 COMMAND to get a new "spell" like "/drink" ... sometimes that spell just disappears from TonicBars. This does NOT happen to usual spells like a skill. It does NOT happen on the standard-bars.

I did some TESTs for you:
-when moving a shortext ONTO tonicbars it won't be removed, 10 of 10tries
-when moving a shortext FROM tonicbars anywhere (To tonicbars or To standardbars) it will be removed, 10 of 10 tries


Another notice:
WHen you use "Mouse over" when holding an item, mouse over will not be triggered.

I just downloaded v2.2 and got it loaded ingame. I can make new quickslots but the extension function was not working at all. Right clicking any of my existing quickslots didn't open up a extension menu. When I tried to extend a quickslot made by Tonicbars I would always get the message "can not extend an extension".

I rolled back to version 2.1 and still could not get it to open up an extension on any existing quickslot. I did get it to work when creating a new quickslot bar with Tonicbars then extending that.

It all works for now with version 2.1 just not the way intended. Maybe I am just overlooking something easy... it is late

Very nice plugin.
I'm new here (and to LOTRO) and running this plugin I get error:
Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\Bars\BarManager.lua :140: attempt to index local 'self' (a nil value)
When I select any predefined extension.
The rest seems to work fine.
Am I missing something?

Nope, sorry about that... I really shouldn't start to fix something, walk away from it for two weeks and come back and make a version...
I figured I had finished it and I hadn't. Sorry bout that... v2.2.2 should fix that issue.

The good news... a lot of things personally have gotten better, hence the new versions. Wifes healing up well after her accident, my twins don't have pnemonia anymore... have a new Van after it was totaled... the insurance is covering the damage to the Van even though the other woman who hit my wife wasn't insured (as it was her fault 100%), I have running water in my house after the well pump died and the mailbox has been fixed after being hit by a plow... sigh... finally some normallcy.

Found some issues:
  • The class trigger for Battle-Hardened (Captain) doesn't seem to work. Can't get it to show correctly. The others seem to work correctly.
  • If you start to choose between class triggers, then the "buffs active/not active" seems to also affect the normal ones. After using a bar for a captain trigger first, I found that I needed to put it as buff active or it wouldn't toggle at a fear effect later on. Not such if it was like that before.
  • I sometimes get skills disappear from the bars. Can't say exactly when this happens, except when I am dragging another skill over (not dropping/replacing). It's not a biggie, but it's got me constantly checking my bars to make sure I've got everything there.

And finally, a request: It would be great if you could find some way to make the extension bars moveable. I sometimes want to restructure my bars, and to move an extension bar I have to delete it and recreate it at some other point. I hope there's a better way to do this.

Anyway, it's a great mod with even more potential. After starting to use it a while back, I can't be without it now. Great work!

Please provide me with the Exact string of the Buff in game. I haven't played Captains, or Champs so I can't pull those strings myself.

So, this was a design decision I made. When you choose "buffs active" it's going to OR everything you select. So, if Fear OR a class buff OR health OR power... etc. If you select "buffs not active" it's going to AND them together. So, Health has to be below AND Fear is active AND a class buff, etc. That means ALL TRIGGERS... I think this is working correctly, it's just a little confusing. I have ideas on how to improve this going forward.

I haven't seen this one. Anything that you can find to reproduce this? All known cases have been addressed.

This is difficult, I'll think about how to do this, maybe with drag and drops. I'll need to come up with a concept and then a proof of concept, because it's extremely tricky (or I would have done this previously).

Just out of curiosity, are there still issues w/ upgrading and bars getting deleted? The last few upgrades this was the case but the 'readme' and 'changelog' doesn't mention it so I just wanted to make sure before committing it to my plugins dir.

First and Foremost, BACK-UP your file before upgrading. Always do this. The Settings file is located in: /the lord of the rings online/plugindata/<username>/<server>/AllCharacters/tonicsettings.plugindata" Copy that somewhere safe.

There shouldn't be issues with that, but Just to be safe. I haven't heard of any issues, I Try my best to make sure that doesn't happen, but I'm only human and I don't have a good way of having this tested before it's officially released. If everyone used CurseForge I could roll out releases as Alpha / Beta / Release, but not everyone goes there to down load this and LOTRO Interface doesn't support that concept easily.

I always test from the previous version before posting. That doesn't mean that there are not issues, but I can't test all permutations of every release. The other thing is that as versions are progressed, I simplify code for one of many reasons and for example, upgrades prior to v1.0 are no longer supported.

So, I don't have a better answer than, back-it-up and try it... :P sorry. I hope to improve this going forward, with an automated backup system. Its rather easy to do, it just takes time to make sure it works.

No worries, thanks for the prompt reply. I just wanted to make sure is all. Backing up is a normal thing for me anyway (I actually archive my plugins/skins dir by date before every update and I only do one at a time anyway. Just to prevent any issues. Better safe then sorry.

I wish cursesforge was used as well. Much better system going on there, besides, if enough people did use it, we would get app support, rolling out patches/updates would only get easier at that point.

I have an issue with a bar that doesnt appear when i have the buff that appears after killing an ennemy (the bar is supposed to appear when i have the buff)

I'm playin with french, and the bug is maybe because in the mod option, the buff is called "D?faite ennemie" instead of "Défaite ennemie
