Based on the description it sounds like you might have an extra directory in the path.

it should look like: "/lord of the rings online/plugins/tonic/..." My assumption is that you have an extra directory in there "/lord of the rings online/plugins/<tonicbars_v1.2>/tonic/..." and that won't work. If that's not it let me know. Do you have a plugin manager or something?

To load the plugin type: "/plugins load tonicbars" and to unload it "/plugins unload tonicbars"

If you load it and you don't see errors on the console window, look in the upper left of your window for an icon with a Green Goblet in it. You can move that anywhere on the window and click it to get the main menu.

**also make sure you have the supporting Turbine Library a direct link can be found: http://content.turbine.com/sites/lotro/lua/Beta_LuaPlugins.7z

I've tried using this plugin several times, and it does not even register that it exists once i log on. I save the file in my plugins folder, i unzip it with 7z, which worked for one of my other plugins, but does nothing for this one

Also unable to load the new patched Tonicbars

Was able to load and use ver 1.1 of tonic bar last night logged off game and logged in and was unable to load tonicbars. My scriptlog showed the following.
... Rings Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\BarManager.lua:116: attempt to index local 'bar' (a nil value)
Unable to resolve package "Tonic.TonicBars.Main".
... Rings Online\Plugins\Tonic\TonicBars\BarManager.lua:116: attempt to index local 'bar' (a nil value). Thought this may help

This is a wonderful hot-bar addition...great work.

If ya need any info let me know.

I assume when you say upload you mean, Load the plugin in the game. If so, you should be typing, "/plugins load tonicbars" and to unload it "/plugins unload tonicbars"

Are you seeing any messages occuring on your console when you load it? Did you download the supporting library located: http://content.turbine.com/sites/lot..._LuaPlugins.7z

Unable to Load

I moved the tonic folder and did everything right. and got it to upload once. then when i went to upload it again anytimes afterwards it wouldnt upload. ive refreshed the plugs, reinstalled it and it still dosnt work. whats wrong with it or what am i doing wrong?

I've figured this one out, and can reproduce it.

Place a consumable stack in an extension slot, then put the stack in your vault so there aren't any in your bags. Then hit '1'.

Because you have a link in an extension slot that points to an item you don't currently have, you get the invalid quickslot spam. It goes away if you edit the extension, and remove the item link.

I can confirm this behavior, but I can also confirm it has nothing to do with Tonic Bars.

It's been happening frequently to my wife and I, as well as other kinmates, since the F2P patch went live. I didn't install Tonic Bars until last night... so either it's something wrong with turbine's lua libraries in general, or it's a standard game bug.


(P.S... love tonic bars! The only quirkiness I found was if you create an extension bar, and then move the normal bar, the extension doesn't seem to follow the normal bar, but instead stays in place.)

I can't quite reproduce any of the major issues you have. The only one I'm really finding is that extensions can become regular bars if you do a funny combination of adding and removing them quickly (I'll be working to fix this one). It appears that copying a regular bar doesn't function, and reseting to defaults needs some attention, but nothing like you are describing. That's why I really need your settings file. That way, I can plug it in and see what weirdness you are seeing and can guard against it going forward. The thing is, I REALLY that file in order to help!

Is anyone else seeing weirdness with bars? Something repeatable by chance?

**In the mean time, it might be worth your while to *hides behind his desk* delete your settings files and see if that fixes any of your issues. Back them up first of course.

Thanks for the feedback, I need this to help make the Plugin better. It would help a LOT if you can get me your settings file. It would be located under "/Lord of the Rings Online/PluginData/<ServerName>/AllCharacters/TonicBarSettings<with some more stuff>" If you could send that to [email protected] that will help me a LOT in reproducing your problems. When I get home, I'll take a look and see if I can reproduce. If you had this plugin loaded prior to loading V1.0+ on it, your hunters settings might have been lost. I had a bug that only the last profile you logged into after the upgrade was preserved. It's been fixed locally and I'm doing more testing before I roll out the official fix for that.

Hi, first of all I wanted to say thank you for all the hard work and that I really like this plugin. I've been experiencing some problems though even after updating to the latest version a couple of days ago. First of all I get a spam in the chat window that it has found an invalid quickslot and it has been removed. Then after a while my first quickslot (the default game one assigned to number 1) becomes unusable. The icon stays there but it just doesnt work with shortcut or clicking. Finally in one of my characters the bars I've created just disappeared for the 2nd time. This has happened once before and did happen again today and it seems quite random. Weird thing is that this happens only with my hunter. Maybe it's just random too cause that's what I play the most. If it is of any help I also have installed the following:

Chiran Songbook
Chron CTime
Pengoros BuffBars
Shady Plugins Manager
and yours

Also as UI Skin I have Durins Folk

Just in case there is any conflict with those!

This is almost a one liner. I didn't design it that way, because I figured if you wanted bars to display in combat only, the regular bars themselves have that option. But, now that I know you all want that, I'll incorporate that.

My theory was to allow multiple options for when to close an extension. A few I can think of are, "When mouse leaves the extension"<--- current apporach, when "I click the X at top right of the extension", when I have "left combat", "Hit the <blank>" key. Just thinking about times people would expect these to close.
