This is a known issue caused by Turbine. A few searches of the LOTRO LUA forums and on the forums here on LOTROInterface and you would find a lot of plugin authors in a bind until Turbine patches their LUA code.
Sadly, this is the problem. There is nothing that I can do that I know of. If someone knows how to prevent it, I'll make the fixes, but as far as I have seen, it's like a Memory Leak or a Memory access problem on Turbine's part.

And I have stopped back frequently, but I have a 3 year old, and a set of 18 month old twins... Job market is rough and I have to pull extra hours at work to stand out, so I have a lot less time for this as when I get home, I'm doing kid stuff, then doing work stuff and then maybe I get 30min to relax...

Since I do this for free in my spare time, it's hard. Now, I'm not saying I'm not working on this again, but I need time to straighten things out on my side first.

That being said, I appreciate all the loyal followers! I appreciate the fans of this plugin, but understand that if I could, I would be improving this, it just doesn't work for me at the moment!!

NewVersion is up that Removes BackPack calls... let me know if you are still having issues with this new version. You should not. Keep in mind... ALL Inventory Bars will be BROKEN!!!

ROI crashes - possible cause

I've had crashes whilst looting mobs, craft nodes & also while repairing gear.

Basically, the common factor here seems to be the bag inventory. After some crude testing of this theory, I've noticed the below.....

If I have a full bag (all 15 slots in the bag) and one of the items in the full bag is stackable, when I next loot another stackable item of the same type, I crash. Not everytime, about 1 in 4 loots during testing.

If I have 14 or less items in the bag when looting another stackable, I've never crashed so far.

If I have 14 items in a bag and I loot a 15th item to fill the bag, I crash. Again, not every time, about 1 in 4 loots.

I've tested all the above on dozens and dozens of loots.

Also, the crashes whilst repairing gear only happened if the item being repaired was in a full bag.

Now, my coding sucks , but if the above has provided a "Eureka" moment for anyone and they fancy taking a look in Nuclear's absense, that'd be , although might wanna get permission from Nuclear first: [email protected]

Actually, he replied in August, so 1 month. Hopefully he is working on an update, as I really like this plugin.

Current tonnicbars 2.5.2 crashes post-RoI lotro client

Possibly a known issue but I didn't see it mentioned here yet... Because of the changes in the LUA interface many 'old' plugins cause problems with the current post RoI lotro client. I experienced a high client crash rating (every few minutes and sometimes every time I looted an npc/object) while using the current tonicbars plugin. (I only use that plugin at the moment, no others, and I truely love it, by the way ) When I don't load the plugin, my client doesn't crash (nearly as often) but I have to miss out on all those nicely positioned and perfectly customized quickslots I'm used to. In my opinion it's bad programming from Turbines side... a plugin which might not be conform the current interface should not crash the whole platform but generate a graceful error message, maybe followed by forced unloading... Anyways, maybe this is something the original programmer might want to look in to.

Not quite abandoned... but needs help

If I recall correctly, back about June, NT was awarded Twins!

At any rate... During the Beta, changes WERE made to the Lua interface.
The initial changes were VERY problematic.

By the end of the Beta, MTBF Crash to Desktop had gone from 10 minutes to several hours. (For me at least.)

Right now, I'm still trying to patch to see how things work in the Release.
Narrel is posting the Lua Release notes in a day or two.

The only problem is ... I'm not a coder, just a tester. (If it was COBOL, or FORTRAN, that would be different),
v2.5.2 (r125) 31 Jul 2011 - is in the SVN over at curse forge. (See the bottom of the intro post above).

I know that others in the past have submitted code and that's what CurseForge is all about.

couldnt copy error message but something ending with lua:286 and "nul value" and something about triggers.

accidental right clicking while trying to set extension bars locks lotro ... sad.

after further playing with this, it boiled down to simple things had a hard time setting up. I tried to use this for warden travel skills only - nothing else, several the skills on the extension bar dont work. The concept is awesome some basic things are nice even but many things lack tuing and something are epic fail. Really needs an update and ROI is due out in a few days. very sad shape for such a nice design.

Aye, using this plugin in bullroarer crashes the game. I think they've updated some of the LUA codes so hope this plugin gets changed real soon.

Will this be updated for RoI? People are experiencing crashes when using plugins. This is one of the ones mentioned to unload to avoid problems. I use two plugins, myself. This one and Buffbars. Both access inventory, which is what is said to be the cause. I don't know if there are new commands or if Turbine broke something. I crash to desktop with no errors or messages, and it happens a couple times an hour, for me. It may be too late to test on the beta if you haven't already started working on an update.

Glitch with Tonic Bars Freezing LOTRO

I've installed the system and it was working pretty well on one of my characters. So I switched to my champ and I was going about creating new quickslots and as I was then adding extentiosn to the new quickslots. Once I added the extention I was first extended just how far off to the left the extention went then I started to move my travel ports into these new extention slots. Suddently the extention had a huge increase in size. I went and decreased it but it decreased it to far. So I was starting to increase it again then was moving my skills yet again. A new jump happened and as I was trying to cut this back down sudden I had a HUGE jump on the system that was so big it froze LOTRO. Now any time i loadup tonicbars this happens.

Do you have any idea how to fix this? Thanks.

tonic bar bug

hi
noticed when i first set up tonic bars used an easy bar for the draught/salve which auto filled initially, then when i tried to delete/remove that bar there seemed to be a non-functional ghost of the bar i couldn't get rid of

otherwise used the quick bars and they are awesome, thanks for the nice plug in!

Question

I don't remember if this has been asked in the past, but is it possible to include functunality for a bar to display based on two conditions, that both must be met?

Example:
I am a champ who wants to make flurry tracking easier. I want a bar to pop up on my screen whenever my flurry buff is inactive, but I only want this bar in combat, as I want to locate it somewhere in the center of my screen?
So there would have to be two conditional triggers for this bar to display:
1. In-Combat
2. Flurry buff not active

I have tried this, but the bar displays out of combat as well (It did go away when flurry was active though).

Is this something possible? Or would it end up being a over-large ammount of coding for something small? This is mostly a curiousity, not a "must have", just thought I would ask.

BTW, Awesome plugin. I love how it has progressed.

Any Inventory Bars I make reset their postion every time I load up LOTRO or reset the plugins. They default to the top left corner. The Quick slot bars are staying in the locations I set, though. Am I doing something wrong, missing a step in the set up or something?

Thank you for any help you may offer.
