Hi Jackdaw,

Getting the following error when i try to open the sortpack bag

...Rings Online\Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\bag.lua:81: attempt to compare number with nil
...ngs Online\Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\Slash.lua:4 1: Failed to import package "JackdawPlugins.SortPack.bag".
...Rings Online\Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\bag.lua:40: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

I've got the prerequisite's installed, the sorting seesm to be working ok, it's just attempting to open the sortpack bag.

any ideas?

I hope it works! Please tell me if it doesn't and I'll see what I can do.

In other news;

NOTICE
I thought Turbine had fixed the "Empty Slot" bug; Where items returned as empty slots, thus making them sort incorrectly.

With this in mind I removed the reloading wrapper and embedded a lot of changes into sortpack to make it more responsive. I have also written, but not released, a bag module. This is, IMHO, very cool - and what I wanted to do in the first place.

However, as the bug is still there I am unwilling to release a, frankly, broken plugin due to the Turbine error.

I am searching for ways around this, but am unwilling to use a reloading wrapper again due to the ~ 1/2 second delay this causes when doing any sort/opening the custom backpack.

Thus; There will be no updates of SortPack for a while!

I may release an alpha, with known errors. However, I realise what this can do to a persons reputation - and yes I do care!

End of news

And yes, this does mean even the current version will sometimes sort incorrectly.

Okies, I am at work but it looks like I have put an import in the wrong place.

I have moved on a programmed a rather large upgrade, which makes back-tracking a bit of a pain. For now, can you add

Code:
import "Turbine.UI"

EDIT:

Just got home from work and tried a bare install of just SortPack, DeusDictum's Dragbar and the Turbine basic code and had no issues.

Failing to load :(

MrJackdaw, I've been using your plugin for quite some time and faithfully upgrading with each new version you've provided. Recently, from 101 to 102 I've encountered a problem in which the plugin will no longer load.

The messages I'm getting are:

...Online\Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\function s.lua:14: attempt to index field 'UI' (a nil value)
...ings Online\Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\List.lua:4: Failed to import package "JackdawPlugins.SortPack.functions".
...ings Online\Plugins\JackdawPlugins\SortPack\Load.lua:50 : Failed to import package "JackdawPlugins.SortPack.List".

I'm sorry for the truncated messages, the "..." part of them doesn't seem to display in my chat box.

Anyway, I've tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling it, but that didn't seem to change anything.

One thing I did do after deleting the plugin a second time was to look in the plugins data folder and I found a file: SortPackData.plugindata

I deleted this file as well and then reinstalled 102 reupload ver. Upon starting the game, I was able to run Sortpack and play with the new categories. I exited the game and when I restarted the game later on, I got the above messages and a failure to load the plugin.

Any ideas why this may be happening? I swear your plugin has made me an obessive compulsive now when it comes to inventory bag tidiness.. <sheesh!!>

Thanks!

Thank you! Before I add this to the plugin - did the other Isengard cosmetic equipment throw an error?

A pleasure! Not pretty, but does the job eh?

perhaps i never had a problem and just never had this much in my packs earlier all the bags are getting noticed now though, so i fear you may not have any of my comment spam to respond to from now on
Hey, not a problem. I am rather driven by requests and bug reports - that is why my plugins get updated right after someone makes a comment, normally.

lest you think up profession specific components and resources
This is possible BUT it would require me to go back again to looking at specific item names. The set-up for this would take far longer than I wish.

Indeed, this is how the original sortpack worked - using item categories is a vast improvement, believe me!

Unless someone is happy to create a list of all items in the game, sorted by item category - and maintain it - I am afraid this is one thing I don't want to do!

turns out it wasn't all leather i was splitting up; the stuff that appears later in bags is stuff that hasn't been turned into leather yet... "resources" rather than "components"

Thanks, Blode. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. I shall re-upload forthwith!
