Thank you for kind words! I'm hoping some of the newer modules might better cater to end game crowd. I'm just about to release 1.3-beta, which will include the Crafting Compendium. I'm hoping this allows folks to quickly see what kinds of gear can be crafted for them, what it takes to make it, etc.. It will have all the filtering capabilities of the item compendium.. So you can say, show me all recipies that make level 60-70 Heavy armored boots. As a non-crafter, you then have a stepping stone to go looking for a crafter to make x, y, and z.. you can even look on AH for materials that would be required.

In the current addon api, they do not appear to have any integration with the quest tracking system, so the second request, while I would *LOVE* to introduce it, is just not possible atm. That said, we can perhaps add some sort of "Auto-filter" for quests that are near your level / zone. I believe the api provides information on the player.. if I remember the area/zone is one of those (will double check).
I will consider your suggestions for fine tuning and adding user enter-able level. There are all sorts of filters we can add to the questing.. The problem I had is in how to visually fit all the filters into the UI. Personally I would like filters for things like, "show me all quests that do not require prerequesites". -or- "Show me what quests I need to do, in order to start ____ quest". "Filter all quests that yeild items -or- reputation -or- money". Filter by quest types, PvP, Tasks, etc..

This plug in is awesome! I've been looking for something like that WoW quest tracker plug in for awhile, guess I found it.l
I'd have 2 requests for it though...
First one, kinda minor... I'd like to be able to see the quest level ranges as an input from the user instead of a pre-set range.
The second one, well I have no idea how complicated programming is for LOTRO plug ins, so this could be about as easy as moving a mountain...
To have the plug in be "intelligent", like the WoW plug in, in its quest listing. Meaning, it would not display quests you have already completed or the parts of a quest chain that you haven't completed the prerequisite quests for yet.
If that second would require you to quit your job and hole up like a hermit for a year, forget it, I can figure those things out myself. Just a thought.
Otherwise, great job on this one. I used it a fair amount in just the few hours I had it installed.

Thank you for the feedback!
In Compendiums initial release the Lorebook is a big source of the questing data. The quest you listed is not listed there. There are other great sources for quest data, I just need to take the time to go find them and incorporate what is missing. Another big concern of mine is the whether the data is valid or not. When I was initially thinking about starting Compendium, I found inconsistent data. I'm told that in one of the expansions some of the quests levels were adjusted. Not every website is up to date on that, but it makes me hesitate in choice.
Ultimately, I'd like to provide a way that players can correct the data while in the game, and then submit the data back to be added in in newer releases. I'd even be open to partnering with some of the other lotro websites to ensure they keep up to date data as well.
That said, thank you for pointing out the missing quest. I am a very new player, whose only character is level 14. So I have yet to know and experience much of the game. Good examples like this help me find the weak points in the data.
The version number is in the "About" window of Compendium. There should be a little question mark in the lower left of the window. It should pull up misc info. I will see if we can't make version more prominent in next release.

Missing quest: Our Past In Stone
Just noticed this quest missing in the compendium.
Our Past In Stone
Lonelands
Given by the Earth-kin
Great add-on
edit:
I might also suggest a note on the UI or a tooltip on the start icon to tell which version is running.

For next release I've been working on addition called "Crafting Compendium", which will show all the learned recipies, what they can make, and the ingrediants for each. I will also attempt to cross link these in the item compendium database to show that the item is "craftable by <profession>"
Another addition that I'm working on is the ability to resize the compendium window. This feature is almost complete. I may release this as a quick patch prior to the crafting one depending on how long it takes me to parse & correlate all the craft data.

Another suggestion is to add the possibility of the window loading hidden... because the bags bug make it necessary to reload plugins pretty often, the compendium window also needs to be closed manually each time.
Can be done with a parameter command (/compendium defaulthide), like in Tobii bag addon, but in my opinion a settings window (where future settings will be added) would be best.
|
Great advice. Will attempt to make it save window open/close state between reloads. Thanks again!

The new release of Compendium grew the disk requirements to hold all the data for the Item Compendium. I have no other tests other than my own experience. Even with size increase I saw no performance hit other than a second or so at plugin load time.
Please please please provide feedback if you experience issues with the addition of the new dataset. The plan is to continue with adding more Compendium components (datasets) in the future as new tabs in the UI. I will likely make it so they can be turned off or seperated out, but in mean time enjoy!

3) In etenmors, filter the quests acording to player faction, because monster players cannot do free people quests, and free people can't do monster quests. (Same way that alliance and horde can't do quests from opposite faction in wow)

I'm new to game so didn't know there were monster quests. Would the following link encompass the quests you are refering to.. or are there lots more quests other than these for monster form.

Just tested it, and a few things come to mind...
1) The readme.txt file seems to be missing... had to peek at the code to see how to open the main window.
2) It could use better starting way than /comp. A button like in Lotropad would be great.
3) In etenmors, filter the quests acording to player faction, because monster players cannot do free people quests, and free people can't do monster quests. (Same way that alliance and horde can't do quests from opposite faction in wow)
4) Took me a bit to realise what "arc" means... perhaps rename to "quest chain" ? But then, it's just my personal opinion/preference
5) Would be great if you could add coordonates of the NPC that gives each quest.
Again, cheers for a great initiative

Thanks for the support and feedback Nimryeth
I recently made modifications to the zone list in 1.0.1-beta. I agree with addending ", The" to the end of the area. One area in the list strikes me as confusing w/o this..
"Hills (Shire)"
Currently most of my dev time is focused on the item database component of Compendium. There is just so much data to go through O_o. I also have to figure out a way to shrink it all to reasonable size for an addon.

I think it would be better to put it at the end. Like "The Lone Lands" becomes "Lone Lands The".
This way the area is easily found but at the same time seeing that "the" is there, makes you more certain you found the correct area (if "the" is missing some people might stumble on the difference and think they got the wrong area).

|
Not really... it's just like wow.
Example: In Elwyn area we have Goldshire area, Jasporlode Mines, etc (yeah i know i spelled the mines wrong)
So just as wow addons do no filter quests per sub-zone, i think this one should do the same.
Also, if you happen to play on Eldar server, fell free to mail me
