LOTRO update 2 changes
While checking on the game changes with today's update, I discovered that there are undocumented changes to some of the task boards (in particular, I found 3 new tasks at Oatbarton and some duplicates too).
I was planning on posting an update to DT for the documented task changes as soon as I verified them, but now I'm going to make some more checks on other boards first. I won't delay it until I've checked all boards as this would delay a few important changes too long, but I'll try to include several by the end of the day.

Re: load error

First off, great plugin. I use it every day.
I am having a problem though. When I use manager to load dailytasks, it won't load it, even when I reload from the menu. The good news is that it will load manually. There could be a pathing issue between the two plugins. If manager is expecting to find dailytasks in a different place it may not be able to load it. Another possible problem would be naming.
I had a problem installing it too. I think it had a conflict with the older versions. Once I deleted all of the older versions, and re-extracted it into the right folder, it worked fine.

I use "Plugin Manager" by Cearbhall (Shady) and it works fine with DT.

Oops, looks like I forgot to take out the call from the /dtl commands after I changed the save functionality. I'll post a corrected update.

Heya, I have a problem when i click locations or any of the other "List" buttons except "List Items".
They give me these errors:
Locations: ...Online\Plugins\MyPlugins\DailyTasks\DT_Location s.lua:46: attempt to call global 'DT_SetSave' (a nil value)
Zones: ...Online\Plugins\MyPlugins\DailyTasks\DT_Location s.lua:18: attempt to call global 'DT_SetSave' (a nil value)
Rep Codes: ...Online\Plugins\MyPlugins\DailyTasks\DT_Location s.lua:69: attempt to call global 'DT_SetSave' (a nil value)
I on't see a DT_SetSave file in the zip at all, I followed the instructions and got the turbine extenstions as well. What am I doing wrong?

s there any kind of item names translation ?
I'm using french client of LOTRO and item string are not recognize so DT write : isn't known.
could you plan to add a mechanism for localized item string please ?
|
What you'll need to do is edit the DT_Data file. In the table that starts with "id = {", replace the N="..." field for each item with the localized name.
An easy way to do this is to list the items for each location and compare the displayed name with the name that pops up when you mouse over it. This part of the data file should stay the same between most updates, so you'd be able to just copy and paste the "id" table when you download a new version.
Note: Names with accented characters will need a special escape sequence. There was an earlier discussion on a German translate that explains how to do this.

Amazing tool, I use it all the time, so thank you very much!
But I do have a feature request: The possibility of filtering the items by reputation. Or rather listing items that do not give reputation for you and vice versa. That option would be great if it's possible to implement.
|
That shouldn't be too hard to add and I can see where it would be useful. I'll probably put it in the next update.

Version 1.8.6
I should know better by now than to post an update before I've used it for a day to make sure the changes didn't introduce a new defect...
Anyways, I've been adding for mob info and will let you take a peek at the new functionality. There are only a few cases that this works for yet, but you can try these examples to see what it will look like:
/dtm roving warg
/dtm coarse fur

Version 1.8.5
This update fixes a few minor problems.
I've started adding mob drop info to the DT data, but I've only got a few entries so far while I'm getting the coding worked out, so I haven't added anything to the documentation about how to use it yet. It will probably be a couple of weeks before it will be ready use, however, it will be quite a bit longer before there are entries for all the possible DT trophy items.

You're right about DT not always saving new levels, so I revised it to always save settings when it is unloaded. I'm posting this and a couple of other minor changes in the latest update.

Been using this a while and it is a must have for keeping all the test stuff straight without filling my journal with unfinished tasks. However a few bugs:
Most notably, the function of remembering my characters seems spotty. When I'm on the character in question /dtw successfully tells me the right level for that character. But when I switch to another character, /dtw tells me an old level for that character (ie. my Hunter went from 12-17 after I first loaded the plugin; but /dtw still says he's 12. Same w/ my champ who was 48 when I first loaded it, but now he's 52). This means that when List Items is run, it shows me characters who can't really use the item because it is checking their old level. I've loaded and reloaded /dtw on all of my characters, but it doesn't seem to refresh their level.
Also might I resuggest that you at minimum create your .zip one more directory up (at the MyPlugins level) so that you conform to the standard of all other plugin authors here. This will simply things for your users and prevent them from putting files in the wrong location.
Having the contents of your changelog appended to the bottom of your description post above would be helpful also so that users don't have to download the plugin and unzip (or scroll through comments) to find out what changed.
