I re-entered the commands to define the alias using the cut and paste. It seems to work perfectly now.

Wish I knew how that fixed data got saved to that button location, but at least I know what to look for in the future.

Thanks once again for your tireless work on my favorite plugin.
Glad the mystery is solved. I had forgotten that you were using an alias on a built-in quickslot.

Ah. I seem to have forgotten to add the new interior map names to the French and German string tables. If you add the following lines to the END of strings.lua in the "My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\GaranStuff\MoorMap" folder, it will fix the problem until a permanent fix is published in the next update. Sorry for leaving that out.
Code:
Resource[2][183]="Interior Map";
Resource[2][184]="Thorin's Hall Main Floor";
Resource[2][185]="Thorin's Hall Lower Level";
Resource[2][186]="Delving of Fr"..string.char(195)..string.char(179).."r"

Fullscreen problems

Hi Garan, firstly, great plugin!

I have problems when running LOTRO in full screen though - the two icons cannot be seen and I don't know how to get them on screen to place them appropriately.

Secondly the top of the map disappears off the top of the screen and I have no idea how to move it to the middle of the screen to keep it there by default, or to make it full screen in the same way as the normal LOTRO Map is full screen.

Any ideas?

P.S. The only way I've been able to use moormap is by running in windowed mode.

The problem starts with not being able to detect resolution changes when swapping from full screen to windowed. Unfortunately this is compounded by the fact that your settings seem to have been saved at the smaller resolution and a bug in the map size/position initialization.

If you unload moormap (it can be unloaded separately from any other running plugins by using "/plugins unload moormap") and reload it, the icons should detect the changed resolution and reposition themselves so that they are displayed on screen at the edge closest to their last position. I will double check that that function is working correctly.

There is a confirmed bug with the resizing of the map itself. What I have done in the past is grab the bottom right corner of the map and resize it much smaller so that it will have room to fit when redisplayed, then unload and reload the plugin and it should reposition itself. I am looking into this bug and hopefully should have a fix for version 1.08.

EDIT: The initial sizing bug will be resolved in version 1.08. If the plugin was last loaded in a resolution that prevents it from displaying, it will resize or reposition itself to fit into the current resolution. If you change resolutions while the plugin is loaded, simply hide and redisplay the map or select a different map and the plugin will resize/reposition, then you can switch back to the map you were on. It should no longer be possible for the map selection list to be positioned off screen, even when switching between full screen and windowed mode.

After testing the icons, the map icon was properly repositioning itself when the plugin was loaded - if it was off screen, it positioned itself to the closest border. The Quick Annotation tool was not repositioning itself correctly - this has been fixed and will be in version 1.08.

I really wanted it to save the settings for each resolution but that conflicted with the mechanism that reloads the plugin to refresh data . I'll have to think about that some more.

Thanks for the translations I just realized I had the French and German titles from Alt Inventory in the string table - cut and paste, yay!

The error occurs when you select Type=NPC (NSC when Language is set to Deutsch) since there is no way for a user to maintain the "allegiance" value for an NPC annotation in version 1.07. This will be corrected in ver 1.08, an allegiance field will be displayed when editing annotations with a Type which can have an allegiance (currently the only custom annotations that can have allegiances are NPCs).
EDIT: Further testing found that there was also a bug that caused the Allegiance to be set to the Type value (which was very,very bad because there's more Types than Allegiances ). This will also be fixed in 1.08.

Thanks

I have to thank you for this plugin. Of all the plugins that people have made this is the most useful one I have seen to date. I know a lot of hard work went into it and it shows. I look forward to future updates. Thanks again.

Edited to correct spelling

Hello,

I wonder how I can use this plugin on 1280 x 720, because of my beamer.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. It appears that you used a translator like google to translate and "beamer" might have translated incorrectly for "video projector" or something similar.

MoorMap should run just fine in 1280x720, I use that resolution on my laptop just fine. Since the map is scalable based on your display size it should work in any resolution. Can you be more specific about your problem? What happens when you try to load the plugin? Are you able to run any other plugins?

Is it possible when opening the map that it would automatically show the area where the player is currently located? It always seems to open Ettenmoors even though I'm currently in Moria.

Not at this time. We do not have access to the player's location via Lua which is the same reason that I can not show a pointer on the map with the character's current position.
EDIT: I have added a "Default Map" setting to the Options panel so that you can at least choose which map it opens to by default. It's not a great solution but it's better than no control at all.

I have been working on the ability for the user to click a button to identify their current location, the problem is that most of the maps overlap slightly and the overlap is not always contiguously horizontal or vertical (for instance the border between Eregion and Enedwaith is a jagged diagonal in steps that are in .8 map units) and "areas" can span maps as well so the area name does not uniquely determine the current map making a programatic solution undependable. I suspect that Turbine stores the map id per .8x.8 square area, which is what allows for the diagonal boundaries. I haven't had enough time to fully explore the lengths of enough boundaries to determine the functions and whether they are linear or allow for curvature.
EDIT: After further exploring several boundaries, I confirmed that the map id must be stored per .8x.8 square and the border is not linear, it can take any contiguous shape which makes the definition quite problematic.

Re: Re: Problem

Hello again,

the problem is, I can't see the buttons on top, the map is to large to fit the screen. And... yes, it is a video projector with 1280x720. After today's server-shutdown I make a screenshot.

greetings
Gerd

I'm not sure I understand the problem. It appears that you used a translator like google to translate and "beamer" might have translated incorrectly for "video projector" or something similar.

MoorMap should run just fine in 1280x720, I use that resolution on my laptop just fine. Since the map is scalable based on your display size it should work in any resolution. Can you be more specific about your problem? What happens when you try to load the plugin? Are you able to run any other plugins?
